Just in case you didn’t see my idea on your last post. I have a great idea for you guys to try that I seriously would love to see. You shoot a ball made of steel at a ball made of flint! It would be awesome! So much sparks! Would it explode or would it shatter???
Flint is just a rock that happens to be hard enough to shave off small metal filings that oxidize and heat up enough to glow. So I think it would be pretty boring to shoot a steel ball at actual flint, it would just shatter the flint and maybe a few sparks. What would be cool though, is shooting steel at ferrocerium, which is the material that those “flint” rod fire starters are made out of.
With Rexy in the foreground and nothing but a screen full of flames in the background makes the perfect couple of seconds to advertise and represent HR.
@@DJ22292it was in a few shots so I’m assuming thats what they were using to seal the barrel so all the force didn’t just go around the harpoon in the barrel
@@AdventuresWithJosh2000 That would throw the balance off... But building a harpoon with a camera built into the head wouldn't be too difficult with the size of cameras these days - especially if the heads were screwed on and could be interchanged with new shafts when the old ones get too bent...
I believe that we all probably underestimate the amount of work that goes into these objects and weapons of mass devastation. I appreciate the work you put into these films.
Welcome back to the States, boys. It's nice you brought your whole crew. That last explosion, particularly the final slowie with Rexy in the foreground, was so worth the effort. Well done HR.
Really warms my heart to see that the boys had a hand in reviving the Jeep that they bent in half the last time we were in the States. I felt really bad when they folded it doubling the powder last time.
I think we all probably over look how much effort you guys put into theses items and machines of mass destruction. Thank you for your effort in these videos.
Fellas, that was epic. The fireball reflecting in Derek's glasses followed by one of the coolest slowies ever. It gave Jurasic World vibes with Rexy in the foreground
@ Anytime I watch a Slow Mo Guys video with an explosion, Gavin is always concerned with getting the exposure right because he has no idea how bright it will be. I was curious how you’d handle it, but you nailed it on this one! Congratulations!
First of all, as always, a fantastic vid. I love how the guys are all relaxing on their chairs, and then boom goes the cannon and they're all up. Great job with the video and can't wait for more.
Someone was saying you could shoot a ball of steel at a ball of flint thatd be cool But for the harpoon specifically you should shoot to see how many pieces of paper you can get through
I'm not gonna lie, the very last screen shot in slow motion and Rexy on the ground, with all that fire made me emotional and a little misty eyed. Maybe it's just from my pure admiration for you guys. Been watching you for a long time now and I'm never left disappointed!
I hope you guys enjoyed your time in Montana, the most beautiful state of them all! It is disappointing that I had to be out of the country when you guys visit my home state, though
Need to get cannonballs made of different materials, ideas for that include but not limited to: Magnesium Aluminum High carbon hardened steel (like the hardest steel you can reasonably get) Wood (all kinds from soft to hardwoods) Copper Tungsten Titanium Lead Stone (again of various types and hardnesses) Glass

You should do one of those window smashing/candle blowing/balloon popping/beer bottle breaking/(or something similar) videos with Lazarbeam. Love the vids, boys, keep up the energy!
Ooooooh the Balistic gel slowy was so good! Also BURN BABY BURN! that end was satisfying to watch! it's also in those slowy videos i manage to work and perfect my fire animations, for the way the flames move!
That final shot was Cinematic! With Rexy standing there like a main protagonist standing next to a massive explosion. Or a villain laughing at his devious creation🤣. So good!
i love that you guys left in the multiple fails with the gas bottles! that's just the nature of these types of "experiments"! sometimes it needs some improv or it just doesn't work out, etc. :)
The propagation of the channel as the dart traveled through the gel really does validate the force equation. It was amazing. Slomo guys need to take this video and compare it to other ballistics gel imagery they have.

Man. That last shot was slowie of the year! And the way it just disappears as if it never even was there. Simply poetic! Well done boys.
That was absolutely spectacular.
I"M THINKING THE SAME THING!!! 🙌🙌🙌

No.
That ballistic gel slowy was fantastic 🎉
That may be my favorite slowmo shot they've ever gotten honestly, it was GLORIOUS lol
Agreed! ... but why was there the head of a piston, too?! 😂

The fire in the sunny's reflection at 20:40 is incredible!
During the last slow-motion footage, I like how you can see the glow inside the cloud building up! Awesome!
It’s an amazing shot!!!! Thumbs up to Jack and Toby for getting that footage!
That was epic.

Got to say that using a piston from a car engine as wadding for the harpoon was genius. Nice bit of thought in that one.
Shaun called them a piston puck… we started calling them Detroit piston players names haha. You’ll hear a “Rasheed!” (Wallace)
