Hi
I just ate money in a vid 💪💵
Hi
Can a giant hammer break into a bank safe?
Didn't expect you to upload
Please do a block of quartz at night!! It’s piezoelectric, so it arcs/sparks from electricity when crushed! Should look amazing!!
The quartz is an excellent idea. 💡💡💡
we need to get this up to the top!
Yes! Awesome suggestion. Thumbed up to help get it noticed.
Does it matter what type of quartz/what colour?
@@howridiculous I don't think so, I think most types of quartz will do fine for it.

THANK YOU!
Just a heads up, those springs have crossed coils and have potential to slip past eachother kind of like when you snap your fingers. I worked for a spring manufacturing company for 6 years making high tensile springs with 1/2"+ diameter wire, the loads when comprsessed are in the thousands of pounds of pressure. Pro tip: be very careful with where they end up. 🙂
Yep. I worked as a mechanic, and I would not have been outside that bunker at all. They don't call manual strut spring compressors "widow makers" for nothing.
Omg that's one Giant Hammer you got!
That's 3x the biggest!
Those springs looked permanently deformed, so it probably wouldn't have killed anyone if the coils uncrossed.....although I could see losing a finger or two.
17:54 best recording from GoPro in this video. It’s like those obsidian pieces flying like meteoroid flying in the universe!
Yeah looks like you're flying through an asteroid belt
I too am slack-jawed that Gaunson’s “are we scraping the bottom of the barrel” got no reaction there was clear effort put into that delivery!
Yeah
Yes as well as them missing the fly that got obliterated along with the shaving cans by some exceedingly bad luck!!! And that they didn't notice it !!

That rainbow forming was beautiful
and they said nothing about it :/
Yeah
Glad I’m not the only one who saw it
there is another rainbow above the first rainbow
it is hardly visible
so its a double rainbow! right?
*right?*
*RIGHT?!*
Thanks
When smashing aerosol cans you need to have like a blow torch setup close by so it will auto ignite the butane used to pressurise them! Even more fun for the slowies.
Edit: seeing as more people keep commenting...
And I've commented this already
I would expect if the guys did it they would take all precautions to make sure they didn't burn more of Australia away!
Also I don't go around burning stuff so those precautions aren't something I've ever thought about.
I would say a 5 gal gas can with a few open flames for a nice fireball!
This is Australia AND it's summer and bushfires are pretty much THE WORST THING EVER!!!!!! I seriously hope the boys recognise that starting a catastrophic fire would probably kill the channel faster than the hammer destroyed everything else?????🤞🙏 Good suggestion but way too dangerous even for these guys!!!!!🤔👎
@@THESALMON8TR very understandable!!!
I'm too used to the damp UK!
@@THESALMON8TR what video did you watch? There is nothing to catch fire for 100s of metres in all directions. It's just not really their thing for algorithm and monetisation reasons.
I was thinking the same thing! It would be awesome to see the big fireball in slow mo. Butane, propane, gasoline and diesel.
Different color plastic pellets could be pressed by this into interesting designs if you make a mold to help form them. The pressure will generate enough heat to get the job done. The Legos gave me that idea.
I can't believe it's already (almost) been a whole year since this video was uploaded. It honestly feels like it hasn't been that long at all
I'm a fan of the wine barrel. The surge out from the cracks followed by a second blast when it hits. I think you can also see the delay in the shockwave shaking the camera.

Agree, wooden barrel just kept on giving, right from when the wood started splitting thru to the big green explosion of water at the end. Steel barrel and obsidian cube were great tho. I also liked watching the bouncing of the ball and tyre as they were being crushed.
Also... Need to do that drone trick with a 360 cam!! That would be amazing
I literally didn't want to watch the whole video. So I checked the comments, thanks so much!!!
14:14 - You actually can compress water. It was given the phrase “you can’t compress water” due to the impractical amount of compressive forces needed to actually compress water.
I love how at 4:15 you can watch the Lego piece fly, bounce and land on the hammer!

The most genius part of all of this, is they can sell literally ANYTHING that’s safe to sell that they’ve destroyed. Like chunks of the acrylic block? Sold. Insane. Love it.
One thing I noticed about the water based reactions is they seemed almost explosive. Maybe that would explain why avalanches can be so devastating. Fascinating
Consistent, certainly.
I wonder how well an exercise ball filled with non-newtonian fluid would hold up against the hammer.
Might give it quite the work-out!!

From a strictly mechanical point of view, I really liked the springs. You could see that as the springs were compressing it didn't slow the hammer one bit, but as soon as the coils stacked solid, there was a massive hesitation in the hammer for an instant.
The best looking one, my vote goes to the metal drum.
I love the reaction “I’M DUCKING IN!” “oh it got sausaged” or “sauced” couldn’t quite make it out
@@kevyndouty772 "oh, it got sorted." as in they really got sorted out. Or "put in their place" in American terms.
pretty sure that was just the playback rate of the slowie getting slowed down, you can see it speed up again to pretty much it's original speed right after
My favorite was the fly that got knackered with the shaving cans mainly because they didn't seem to notice it!!!
You guys are doing great🤩 Keep up all your hard work
After seeing this you have to do a bunch of Glow sticks at night that would be epic
Guys, did you know that the US considered making aircraft carriers out of ice, that was saturated with wood pulp? You guys could easily make a wood pulp (sawdust or paper) ice cube block and test what the military thought was stronger than steel at stopping high speed impacts. The material is called pykrete.
That’s funny and a cool fact! I already knew it but still amazing fact!

don’t think so it might mangle it but it doesn’t have the high constant pressure required to crush it enough to explode
Nobody like it, it’s perfect
Pretty sure it would tear up into little bits
Silly string is formed as it exits the nozzle. What you need is a big container of the material, with a plunger, forcing it out of an orifice. It will make a huge "yarn" ball in milliseconds.
I love how you can see the go-pro fly out at 9:43 during the slow-mo
Someone 200 years from now is going to walk out into that field, and wonder how the heck there's a spread deposit of volcanic obsidian, big chillin out there lol.

Can we see some ballistic dummies right next to the explosions? I’m sure we’re all wondering what would happen if a person was standing next to the exploding obsidian cube. Love the channel guys!

Why not step it up and put a ballistic dummy under the hammer?

I really enjoyed the barrel! That was pretty cool the way all the barrel slats peeled out, like i said pretty cool! The whole physics of all that weight slamming precision onto what ever you awesome people put under it! Love it!
Yeah, the barrel was a high point of the video. Sure, water is incompressible, which could lead you to think that it'd stop the hammer... but the sides of the barrel give out way before it gets to a fight of water vs hammer. So it's like stomping on a full and unopened soda can, scaled up, ohhh, about 500×.
They dropped Nigel in two and it looked like 2 times better

Yea me too but i think the fly getting destroyed inadvertently in the shaving cam slowmo takes it for me especially since no one has seemed to have noticed it either!!

Strike an exposed surface of a non-Newtonian fluid. It is a mixture of starch and water. They say that if you sharply hit this liquid with your fist, then you can even break the brush. And if you slowly lower it as if into a liquid.
The springs were very interesting. U can clearly see they work exactly as intended as they compress perfectly until fully compressed. If they had stopped the hammer’s momentum at that point, then the springs would have pushed the hammer back at maximum force. However, the springs did not stop the hammer. Thus, the springs permanently deformed and did not push the hammer back.
Hooke's law right?
@@nathanblackman1063 Hooke's law just says that the amount of force needed to compress or extend a spring some distance scales linearly with the distance. It's not about springs getting smashed by hammers, although if you want to derive your own law about this maybe it could be named after you.
@@desmond-hawkins 'Hooke's law just says that the amount of force needed to compress or extend a spring some distance scales linearly with the distance' - up to the limit of proportionality where the force and extension are no longer directly proportional, which is why the springs are permanently deformed by the hammer, otherwise they would just bounce back into place.
