  • I can't wait to get a few trips in with this new piece of gear. The Onewind Backpacking Cover and Gear Hammock is a versatile piece of gear that I am happy I picked up. Below are the links I spoke about in the video.

Great video! I recently purchased some onewind gear and I've been pleasantly surprised by the quality and price. Absolutely love that its adaptable to the users preferences.

Thank you for the compliment on the video. I first purchased the Onewind 12’ cinch buckle straps several months ago to use on my Hennessey Hammock and I’ve been purchasing their products ever since. I just received and I am currently laying in the Onewind 11’ ultralight hammock. I will be making a few modifications to it, like I do to all my gear, then I will be doing a review on it in the next few days.

@@reallifeadventures4671 I purchased the 11' tarp first to use with my ENO hammock. Was so impressed I ordered the 4 season under quilt bundle 😍 now I'm convinced I need to try the hammock and bug net. Maybe that snazzy camp chair too! It looks the same as the gear storage/pack cover your using in the video. Not 100% if it's the same thing though!

You can use the pack cover as a chair as well. The hammock I typically use is the 11’ double wide with bug net. I purchased the ultralight Hammock to throw in my day bag along with the ultralight silnylon mat. If I like it enough I will most likely buy another one along with a bugnet so my son doesn’t have to use my old Hennessy hammock anymore.

Thank you very much. I will be posting a review on a Silnylon footprint/tarp today or tomorrow. The wind here is just not cooperating with filming.

I will also be making a video very shortly on utilizing the pack cover as a seat and as a way to hang your food from a beer line if need be.

You are very welcome. I try to find multiple uses for a single piece of gear. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t.

I've seen it setup as a chair too.

I was wondering if you think you could use some guy lines to offset the gear hammock to get it out from underneath you. I've been wanting to get my stuff off the ground and was looking at this and Dutch's hammock chair. Thanks for showing some ways to set this up.

I wonder how much higher than normal you need to hang to accommodate a underquilt and keep gear under and off the ground?

I would like to suggest something
On one of the lines to the storage compartment if you made that longer than the other you'll be able to adjust it behind your head 🤔 that way you can still use a under quit 😉

Thank you for the video. I am trying to decide between the gear hammock and the backpack cover deer hammock. One is waterproof one is just water resistant. Both show that you can use them as a chair or chair swing. Have you tried setting that up? I asked One what the weight rating was for a person and they just told me some nonsense about the leader size and I tried to tell them that that’s about the volume not about the weight. Then they gave me some numbers to try and convert and what they gave me basically said 44 pounds maximum and I’ve seen videos where people were sitting in it but I’m a bigger dude. Have you tried setting it up as a chair or swing? 😢

Thank you for taking the time to view and comment. If you check out the link below. That is from my instagram, and it is where I I'm using the backpack cover as a chair. I have never found technical weight ratings for the cover. However, I am 6 feet tall and weigh 262. I hope this information helps. Have a wonderful day.
