Civil forfeiture laws were created to cripple drug rings, but some police departments have been using reclaimed cash to fund operations, or even pay salaries directly. WATCH NEXT: The Ex-Undercover Cop Exposing the UK’s Police Corruption - bit.ly/2mJnBaG

To Take The House Of This Hard Working Old Man THAT DESERVE TO SMOKE AS MUCH WEED AS HE WANT. THEY SHOULD BE BRINGING HIM WEED TO SMOKE ! You know what really gets me on top of this is The Racism Against Others In The Country When Whites Are Doing Things Like This To Whites And Worse ! *The same people that's doing it to them are the same ones that told them To Be Afraid Of All Others In The Country And The others are The Ones Taking Their Lives Away From Them.*
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. He is criminal, he'll face the consequences. Next people like him will demand affordable healthcare. People need to learn that they have to work and abide by the law if they want to be part of this great country.
It's so ridiculous. Weed is only illegal b/c Big pharm lobbies to keep it that way. How many people died from Marijuana use in the last 5 years compared to people who died from alcohol and alcohol related incidents? These municipalities will continue to break the law to line their own pockets b/c, as the Bible states: "The LOVE of money is the root to all evil." Some people say, "well don't commit a crime." Umm, you don't have to commit a crime to get your stuff stolen, you don't have to commit a crime or behave in a suspicious way to be pulled over. Many of these cops will use the opportunity to pull people over as a pretense to manipulate them through fear to get their stuff.
stealing an entire 26 acres house and a bunch of cars at gunpoint from an old man and then locking up him and his wife in a cage and then extorting $25,000 from them in the form of a fine is not that bad of a crime. but smoking some herb... now you crossed the line.
Harry Scheuerle I don't normally get angry but seen you on here a few times just stating that they had plants, as if that makes any difference, it's a fucking plant.
yep, just like tobacco, right? The plants are almost irrelevant to the fact they had an 8 pound stash they were caught selling from. Illegal sales are illegal, regardless of your opinion on the drug. "pls fuck off and die," nice argument by the way!
@Cynthia Pope yes they are, don't lie cops respond to calls. George Floyd isn't an accurate case to show all cops are bad because one cop was horrible. Your stereotyping a whole work force.
Law enforcement are empowered to seize assets by your elected representatives. Which means this is what we wanted based on who we voted in. That's the way democracy works. God bless America.
Yes they should because it is most likely everyone elses property or stolen money this is out of control!!!! We the people need to pull together and get something done!!!! Take it to Washington !!!!
You all need to watch it. Watch the 80 year old man on the verge of losing 26 acres of land, and 3 vehicles he worked his whole life for. All because he smoked some weed. Sickening
Government employed and armed thugs as opposed to the self/gang employed thugs on the street. Only the government justifies its crimes in the name of "public safety". The government destroys its own credibility. One of the few people in government who have any common sense includes Jared Polis, Steven Cohen, Earl Blumenaur, Trey Gowdy, Jason Chaffetz, Alan Grayson. All good men in a corrupt institution, these men don't like it, don't like being represented by an incompetent corrupt government but they are working to fix America. That's why I like them and anybody else these good men approve of I will support. I trust their judgement, the only thing within the government I trust is their judgement, the character of these patriots and loyalists to the concept of freedom I have named will be the only Americans in government I trust.
The police are the biggest, most powerful, and well funded gang in the world all with the backing of local, state, and the federal government. I personally have never had a problem with a street gang or member but I have been harassed by the police on a few occasions. So where is the real threat coming from?
Midwest Mike and they have the blue line protecting them so they can commit murder or whatever and it don't matter. The police state is caused by the war on drugs, they wouldn't be militarized if drugs were legal and there was no underground market for gangs to take advantage of.
Domingo De Anda they should bring back the Vigilante Angels that you used to see riding the subway wearing combat trousers and red berets & black jackets! (They did make a difference even tho the police were convinced they were doing more bad than good!) #somethingsgottachange!
My boyfriend got robbed of his stimulus check right after he cashed it outside of a bank. He was robbed at gun point and the bank got police involved, the police found the man and disclosed to my boyfriend that they found the money... needless to say that money has yet to be seen by my boyfriend a year later...
I got robbed by a bunch of crackheads. The police caught them and kept the money. Told me that if I want the money back, I have to sue the city. WTF? I'm supposed to be looking at years of legal fees for a 300 dollar paycheck?
They’re robbing people that have free will to do whatever with their body and should have free will to provide any service the government should not regulate and force people to not survive in whatever way they feel fit. Violent crimes? Robbery? Should be seriously taken and I see what the police doing as robbery in these videos
I don't know, but I am sure the IRS can explain to us how the PROTECTION RACKET or EXTORTION game works. Just like the govt can explain to us how the NUMBERS RACKET, LOAN SHARKING, and BOOT LEGGING RACKETS use to work in America
As most of Oliver's stories show, almost everything in America is a racket. Civil forfeiture, payday loans, lotteries, TV preachers, educational loans, municipal courts and on and on and on. What a country.
If you think asset forfeiture laws aren't criminal acts... think again. I once worked for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department as a deputy sheriff. I was fired for turning in/identifying corrupt cops within that law enforcement agency. These cops routinely stole possessions from innocent civilians and much through the "asset seizure forfeiture law(s)". All of them continually fail to do their job instead spending the majority of duty time doing nothing when they swore an oath to enforce the law/do the job taxpayers pay them to do. Worse yet, some of them were convicted criminals who somehow were later hired as cops only to continue their criminal misconduct under the protection of badge and gun. They are all protected by the corrupt administration of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department led by Undersheriff Bernard Melekian, Sheriff William "Bill - I am a Nazi lover" Brown and others to include lieutenant Shawn O'Grady, and Commander Eric Koopman. These corrupt SBSO cops are Marc A. Hammill (City of Buellton resident), Neil Gowing (City of Orcutt resident), Daniel Lee McCammon (Santa Barbara resident), Daniel Kohli, Wayne Johnson (Ventura resident) Justin DiPinto, Christopher Corbett, Edward Moss (City of Lompoc resident), Adrien Marquez (City of Lompoc resident), Karen McCormick (City of Lompoc resident), Dennis Thomas, Shawn O'Grady (Santa Ynez resident), Bernard Melekian, William "Bill" - "I am a Nazi lover" Brown (City of Lompoc resident and ex-City of Lompoc Police Chief). There are even cops within the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department who unjustifiably shoot citizens (Christopher MacAuley, Jeremy Rogers, and more). Then there are the cops who commit murder and get away with it protected by their corrupt supervisors and administration. Sociopaths abound in law enforcement and it is TIME for that to end. I'm writing a book about what happened to me. I shall expose them all for the crooks they are. I shall then recommend changes WHICH MUST be introduced and observed to end law enforcement corruption once and for all. Frank Serpico... you truly are my hero. DO NOT TRUST LAW ENFORCEMENT EVER. Carry a smartphone and/or voice recorder and ALWAYS have it recording should you find yourself contacted by law enforcement. Hold law enforcement accountable... FOR THEY ARE SERVANTS OF THE PUBLIC AND NOT SUPPRESSORS OF THE PEOPLE. END THE DRUG WAR - Abolish all local law enforcement narcotic teams and task forces. Abolish the asset seizure forfeiture laws.
Prove? I was there and witnessed the criminal misconduct firsthand. Furthermore, some of the corrupt cops I identified are convicted criminals and all you have to do is look up their names in any online database to find out what they were convicted of prior to being hired as a cop. I'm sorry... but there are crimes listed as "crimes of moral turpitude"... and if one is convicted of such crimes they should NEVER be allowed to work as a peace officer/cop. Period. History repeats itself. Always. As to the unjustified shootings I've identified... I doubt there is any "proof" of them for my prior employer deletes and hides any and all damning evidence. This is common place for them and continues to this very day. Deputy sheriff Jeremy Rogers pursued a fleeing motorist onto the U.S. Highway 101 IN THE WRONG DIRECTION in direction violation of his employer's policy/regulations and also in violation of California Vehicle Code 23103(a)(1). Rogers also shot an elderly gentleman who was standing in his own backyard holding his legally owned handgun down at this side. Rogers shot this elderly man in the head killing him outright yet this man posed no direct threat to anyone at the time. His employer covered his criminal misconduct up. This is unjustifiable and thus murder. This misconduct led to him and his employer rightfully being sued in court (by the decedent's widow). Rogers also shot and killed an unarmed burglar who posed no immediate threat to life... again unjustifiable homicide (a.k.a. murder). Again, his employer confiscated all the video evidence from this unjustified shooting (both dashcam patrol car footage and witness cell phone videos) and it thereafter vanished from the evidence chain. I could go on and on about stuff I witnessed and know firsthand... but you get the picture. If you don't get the picture then I suggest you search UA-cam for "Frank Serpico Lamplighters" video and watch the first four minutes or so. Whistleblowers don't exist in law enforcement because they are quickly victimized by the corrrupt cops/and chain of command and subsequently fired. Thus, the overwhelming majority of cops do not have the willpower/courage to stand up for what is right. They either participate in the criminal misconduct themselves or they turn a blind eye to the misconduct they bear witness to (which makes them just as guilty in my opinion).
I'm unsure why I must prove what I know and witnessed firsthand. I know the truth of my former employer and its corrupt employees. They even burglarized my home repeatedly to steal what evidence I retained to prove their criminal misconduct. All in all, I don't care what you say in regards to me having to "prove" anything. You do the leg work yourself. If you don't want to then I shall leave it at that or otherwise consider you one of the very corrupt cops I've identified above. Not all cops are corrupt... but far too many are.
DaMuses I think you're missing my point. Your perspective and your 'truth' or whatever you might call it is yours. I can't change that. But you're giving us - the public - information, information that is filled with harsh allegations of corruption. None of us care what you 'know' to be true, as you are no one of importance or credibility to all of us. My point being, if you want us to take in your information and take it as fact, you'll have to prove it to us. To put things in perspective, if I say: 'There is a god named Tuah and Tuah is a gnome living inside the earth, I've got no proof, but I know it myself as fact - you have to do the research yourself...' Do you understand where I'm getting at? What you're saying could possibly be true, it could also be false, but it lies with the accuser to prove it, which is you.
America is well know for being evil nation by all, like not only terrorizing and destroying other countries but doing same ting to their own citizen because of capitalistic cancer in their mind. Stay away from the devil called America or you'll be next to suffer just like these people. They're lost and can't be saved!!!!

I used to be the kind of person who if I found a wallet of money on the street, I would turn it in to the police hoping that they would put a notice in the newspaper. Needless to say, I don't do that anymore.
When I was 18 I had my backpack stolen with my MacBook, Prada sunglasses, and other expensive items in it. Naturally, I called the police to help me get it back. They got it back, but then threatened to keep it if I didn’t unlock my MacBook for them, since the KID WHO STOLE MY STUFF told them I was involved in illegal activities... They told me “hey if you’re so smart look this up, CIVIL ASSET FORFEITURE...” It took months of my parents and lawyers harassing the police for them to just hand me my stuff back. It’s ridiculous that this is the course of action I had to take in America “LAND OF THE FREE...”
Cop logic: "This is a huge amount of money, that's not yours is it?" Citizen: "It's mine" Cop: "good cause I'm seizin it!" To serve & protect huh? More like to Rob & Neglect...
no they serve and protect, people behind the blue line. they are a fucking gang that has gotten out of control and been over bloated by our taxes claiming they need them for a destructive war on drugs that only harms EVERYONE and gives them an excuse to militarize their forces.
I clicked here from a Washington Post video on this very subject and the money they seized from the kid was given to him by his dad and he was going to use it to start a new life on the West Coast.
When you start taking away everything from people who at that point have nothing to lose, be scared, be very scared. Nothing is more dangerous than a man who has nothing to lose!
the root of the problem is....the country was formed by men that believed in God... so the contitution mirrored practices that are rite, just, fair ! freedom of religion doesnt mean some blue pegan god with 9 arms, or sum half goat dude! freedom and the rite to religion means , the one, and only religion.... born in a manger , died on a cross , arose 3 days later.... now you see just how wrong, and evil, that coper was when he said "pennies from...." if the cops were christians, they would not steal..,i guess some wouldnt have there pastry job! that be tuff one for the old man with the green.... ide be thinking like, " come get it" or burn the bitch down... these yanks are to much.... after ww2 , hangen all the natzzies but " hey wait! you , and you, you can make rockets?" @@SmallPaul. It is estimated that a dog is shot by a police officer “every 98 minutes”. The Department of Justice estimates that at least 25 dogs are killed by police every day. The Puppycide Database Project estimates the number of dogs being killed by police to be closer to 500 dogs a day, which translates to 182,000 dogs a year.
Didn’t see the clip in reference but a very large percentage of the time then killing the dog is justified. For instance having to kick the door down to a house(with a warrant of course) when criminal activity is suspected and a dog comes charging at you, of course they’re going to shoot the dog. It would be moronic to assume they’re going to let themselves be attacked by a dog.
He told him to get the dog under control otherwise he would shoot him, considering he didn’t know what kind of dog was on the other side of the door it’s a pretty reasonable request.
NJ had a drug dealer in the 90's, basically call the police to protect her business of coke. LOL. So, they had an entire gang, if they looked. They could not see past the crying woman. And the fact, that the woman had NOTHING. Nothing to take. Their racketeering exposed itself again in a few days in another police report, but they would not pursue them because there was nothing to take. So, every time they were caught, they walked away unscathed.
It's sad that people with nice things are scared to even drive through some states in fear of cops stopping them and taking their stuff.... THIS IS EXTORTION....
That's why you do everything you can to make sure there is nothing for them to take. As an individual, there's little you can do to prevent legal theft and robbery by government officials, but you can limit what they can take. Never carry more cash than you're willing to lose and never drive a vehicle you would be upset at losing. Also helps to not spend any money if you can help it in the areas where cops are thugs.
Did you guys hear the story of the $20,000 they seized when a guy was going to buy a car from craigslist? The guy said he was going to buy a car and the cop didn't even put it on the report, just took the money. Never returned it either, even after being called out on TV.
So violating 4th amendment right of the people, which states no person can be deprived of life liberty or property without due process. Tyranny IS in our country and must be stamped out.
agreed we drastically need federal and state reforms that protect these rights with due process and conviction of a crime (and if you think some old retired guy smoking pot is a crime please go stand in traffic)
Funny how Vice and their ilk wouldn't have a problem with asset forfeiture if it was being done to confiscate AR-15s. They'd be the first ones to praise the police for getting those "assault weapons" off the street.
You don't know what you're talking about and these laws are still used to hurt drug dealer's and DTO's. Sure they may be used on street level or mid-level dealer's, etc. but they are not used against the law-abiding public. These asset forfeiture laws help us to hit these horrible people where it counts. You don't know how often these criminal dealer's get out of jail and go straight back to dealing, or even when they are still in jail they have a friend or family member take over the dealing for them and then they get out and go right back to dealing themselves. These are scum of the earth people taking advantage of people who are weak and addicted to drugs, which are killing people left and right. Most narcotics departments will not even go after a low-level dealer, because its not worth the time it takes. So the people that are put under surveillance and eventually arrested during search warrants are people dealing a lot of drugs. If you can prove that these people are dealing drugs you can obtain a search warrant and then seize their money and or property. However you do still have to prove in civil court that the funds and property were obtained with funds from dealing drugs and most of the time you do this by using a criminal conviction stemming from the same arrest and original warrant. Civil asset forfeiture cases take longer to see the inside of a courtroom then the criminal cases do most of the time, so by the time you see a judge on the asset forfeiture you would have already obtained a guilty verdict on the subject who your are seizing their stuff. If not, if they were not guilty they usually get the funds and property back.
One of my friends dads used to work for the DEA and he told me about how one time they found a major drug dealer and had all the evidence to convict him but where told by their bosses to wait till he would touch something valuable so they waited till he got on his plane so that way the could seize the plane with him as well
+Boraka Osama Voluntary trade and possession of your own property may be considered "stupid" to you, but it's not something that justifies the mass theft and kidnapping that state mercenaries carry out on a daily basis. Don't try to downplay how wrong that is by pretending shiny badges grant special rights.
Every country has their flaws but nothing can be perfect. Look at China, Vietnam, Singapore for example. If you get caught with certain types of drugs there, you could be executed. Id rather have my shit taken than be sentenced to death just because of drugs. America is not perfect but its sure as hell better than a lot of different countries and their government if you stay out of trouble.
+Boraka Osama Don't get me wrong, America is one of my favorite countries in the world, but I'm still opposed to every immoral thing the government does. Whatever is wrong for an individual to do is immoral for a government to do, no exceptions.
Good. We should summerly execute a few of these degenerate lawyers and judges and send the rest of them to the forced labour camp and siege their asserts

I unfortunately got a taste of this with my first new truck in the 90s. I was a teenager got caught with an ounce of smoke and they seized my truck I'd just bought for 16k that I'd financed. Even though taking something that isn't paid for and not satisfying the lender in a seizure was supposed to be illegal it did stop the police from keeping it for 7 months and going to court a bunch of times fighting. All said and done it cost 7k just for the truck back. Another 10k to get a lawyer good enough so I didn't go to prison for an ounce. Icing on the cake was when I got off the charges the cops were pissed and told some dealer I had never even heard of that I ratted on him, so that guy was looking to kill me. Plus years of harassment and 19 tickets in two years. I can't believe they didn't have anything better to do. That's all I did was smoke, didn't do anything else wrong.
Now, I find these mini documentaries quite interesting, and the more of these I watch the more a I start to believe that the US of America is rotting from the inside out. And the more it rots, the quicker it rots.
I had 1000 taken away from me and I never once sold drugs but after a year got a letter in the mail to pick the money up they thought I was going to forget but at the end I did go get it and boy were they mad
I bought my son a motorcycle to drive however I kept it in my name because I wasn't sure if he was going to be responsible. You know one of those crotch rockets for 10,000. Well the neighbor decided to snatch it one day and I caught him selling it to a guy he met on Facebook loading it in the back of a flatbed. I called the police twice 20 minutes apart I blocked the guy in with my car with my fifteen-year-old daughter in the car. So he couldn't get away with the motorcycle. Loan behold the guy who was about to be busted for selling it my neighbor he threw himself on the hood of my car called an ambulance and the police officer arrested me. Talk about an opportunist. And they reported the motorcycles stolen two weeks later. The police department never bothered to research my tag on the bike. I was out the $10,000 as a single mom

Her friend was with her and admitted to the police that she wanted to buy a pill in the area. They found no actual drugs on them, and charged my ex with "Attempt to possess narcotics". What about the trading or bartering system, like on Prison Yards ?? Stupid if you believe that Law Enforcement Agent's Lie. People steal, shoplift goods, or pawn their own belongings to get these drugs/medications. I've been there and done that in life. People don't always need money, they can work and earn it as well, and not sexually either. I'm talking about everything from cleaning the dope man's house, to washing/detailing their vehicle, going to do a collection, doing yard service, working on their house with a skilled trade, like plumbing, electrical, roofing, air conditioning, etc. Wake up America, there is no sales receipt involved in this black marketed world. America lies to the people and they believe whatever the Politicians or Law tells them. There is no Quality Testing or Assurance, so people are Poisoned and called an Over Dose O.D. What if that was your child or loved one Addicted to Drugs ?? A.D.H.D. people going to the illegal world to get a Stimulant ? I work in law enforcement in Florida and know of the practice in some counties. But in the State of Georgia there will known for it. A few years back my brother and his son and a family friend were on there way to a vehicle auction.in Georgia when they got pulled over. In all my personal vehicle's I have dash cams hooked up my wife's and sons and daughters. I tell all my relatives to get them to. My brother had one in his SUV when he was stopped the dash cam shows your speed to. The officer that pulled him over said he was speeding doing 85mph in a 65mph zone. I always tell everybody I know do not fight with the police on the side of the road even if you know there wrong that's not the place to fight your case. So my brother said fine he knew he wasn't speeding and had the proof so he figured he would fight it in court. They were going to the auction to try to buy two almost new pickup truck's one for my brother and one for his son. The auction only took cash or a cashier check so my brother brought cash with him. He had it in the back of his SUV. The officer ask him if he had any weapons on him or In the vehicle which he did not then he asked him if he had any large amounts of my in the vehicle and my brother told him yes because they were going to try to buy 2 vehicle. The officer called for more units and when his sergeant showed up asked my brother to get the money my brother told them no because there was no reason for them to see it. He showed them all the information for the auction even his registration he had to do so he could make a bide at it. They didn't care about any of that they told him people use this road to transport drugs and now they were going to have a dog go around the vehicle. All of this is on video from my brothers dash cam and it just happened that one of the units that showed up was a K9 unit. My brother and son both took out there phones to video the dog going around the vehicle but when they did that they were ordered to put there phones on the ground and stand by one of the police units. Since my brothers dash cam didn't cover the rear we don't have video of the officer running the dog around the vehicle but the officer said the dog hit on something Now they have the right to search the vehicle my brother told them were his money was and they got it the thing is that was the end of the search. Again my brother told them about the auction but that didn't matter. They took the money and gave my brother a receipt and case number. There was over 35 thousand that they took and then drove away not even giving my brother a citation for speeding the reason they stopped him in the first place. My brother went right to there station to get his money back but they told him he has to contact the D.A office on Monday this was Saturday. My brother called me to tell me what happened and if I could help I told him not to do anything because that could get him arrested just to come home and I would make some calls. I found out a lot about this department from friends I have in the Georgia State Patrol how they were famous for doing this. I called there Chief of Police and told him who I was and who I worked for but all l got out of him was there's nothing I can do and to contact there D.A.. Now I'm really pissed so I can't even imagine how mad my brother was. When he got back I was waiting for him I wanted to watch the dash cam video and was even madder after watching it. The things these so called officer's pulled was more like a robbery then anything I called an old fried I have in the G.B.I. Georgia Bureau of Investigation. I told him what happened and sent him a copy of the dash video. Now before we even contacted the D.A office about the money on Monday they called my brother and said if they could keep 15 thousand they would return the rest that day my brother called and told me there offer. I'm just going to leave out a lot here but it took almost 2 months for my brother to get his money back with no apologies and they would not admit they did anything wrong. My brother did file a lawsuit against the county that this happened and they even made him a settlement offer it was low and his lawyer told him that he should hold of taken it. My brother does not want there money he wants them to admit they were wrong and a public apology which his lawyer told him he'll never get. Sorry on how long this was there is more to the story but I'm using a phone to right this and I can't use them like my kids do I make to many mistakes and don't go back to correct my mistakes.
Ed is right you know. Legalize drugs , let the government regulate the supply and increase the quality. Then sell them cheaper and watch the drug lords file for bankruptcy. And take back the power you gave to police.
As alex zannettou said, the stocks will increase. This will mean that (drug) cartels won't hold the monopoly and instead consumers will start buying from legal companies. To put it as simply as possible, think of diamonds, they're expensive because it has a rarity of sellers. If you some how got 10,000 more diamonds and gave them to different companies, the price will go dramatically down. If we legalised drugs and regulated it, firstly it will limit the amount of dangerous chemicals. Secondly as I said earlier, cartels control the monopoly, so if we sell it for less either the cartels will have to sell it for less or go bankrupt. Cartels count on corruption, they'll bribe high status officials of governments and/or corporations to ignore them. But as the cartel can't afford this as their profit is going down, the cartel will end up weak, and defenceless.
I remember reading a story about a kid who had around $10,000 given to him by his mother for college and cops took it away because they found weed residue in his pockets.
The cop could of just told kid to call mother and to prove she gave him 10,000 dollars and ask kid proof of college like student card and run license plate make sure car is not stolen
The C.I.A is the governments All-Star team. Why would they do that if they are bringing in income for Johnny Law?! This is not new, they are all on the same team F.B.I, I.R.S, D.E.A a.k.a Alphabet Boys.

john folsom I’d imagine it happens, but not for long. If multiple people complain that money is missing, they would definitely investigate that cop, he’d look shady as hell
JoeRingo118 thank you for clearly showing your ignorance and lack of knowledge on how the process works. The police don’t just “take the money and that’s it, with no paper trail.” When the money is taken by police, an evidence form is filled out and the person who the money was taken from is given a copy, showing exactly how much and what was taken. From there, the cop has to write a seizure warrant explaining why he believes the money was obtained from illegal means or going to be used for illegal means, and present that warrant to a judge who isn’t review it and decide whether or not to sign the seizure warrant. If signed, it is turned over to the DAs office for review until the officers provide additional paperwork to show how the money is illegal, and from there, it can be challenged by the person’s attorney in court. CLEARLY there is plenty of documentation. But you’re a moron and you wouldn’t know that so...
@@InDatParish yeah right. I bet they count on the guy just walking away from it. Like the one pig said early on in the video. If they fight for the money they will charge them with laundering.
aaaaaa that makes zero sense. Why do you just make shit up? Money laundering is a criminal charge, like all criminal charges, it requires probable cause. Simply having cash is no probable cause. Besides the fact that seizure of cash is a CIVIL case, and money laundering is a CRIMINAL case. Entirely different. Nice try though, for an idiot.
The thing with rookie cops. You come in ready to serve the community lawfully. You're assigned to a drug unit. There's money, guns, and drugs. Someone on is corrupt, and everything is not accounted for. That Sparks criminal addiction from law enforcement.
If you study the Constitution they are leagaly bound to return all seised asset's if there is no conviction. If you are wrongfully charged and win your trial . They will not mention this. You have to bring it up
@@preppinainteasy9965 yup there may be a few good people. But all governments are a giant consparicy . And corrupt from the bottom to the top. Then the officers are trained to shoot, drive, take ,assets ,freedom ,and life away . Based on a $#@T pile of laws. That they don't teach in the police academy.
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." -- Fourth Amendment, U.S. Constitution Forfeiture "laws" are a direct violation of the highest law of the land, the Constitution, and anyone using them are criminals and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
What that quote says is actually addressed by the ex-cop in the video. Police need to claim a preponderance of evidence to claim forfeiture. Probable cause is in the same spectrum of evidence weight as preponderance of evidence but lower down, meaning that by having preponderance of evidence, the police have probable cause.
@@InDatParish no theres only illegal laws that violate it. Like gun control and civil asset forfeiture. The day that bibles get banned and people excuse it the same way they do civil asset forfeiture or gun control, then and only then will I belive that bullshit. @@KushDragon420 so you think if a cop witnesses a man kidnap a child, drag her into his house, and is watching the man stabbing the little girl through the window, the cop should not be able to intervene without driving back to the office, typing a search warrant, having the judge sign it, then return to the house to try to save the little girl?
Evidence: cocaine marijuana, just goes back on the streets. You never see them burn or destroy them for a reason. Who do you think owns the drug dealers. Long standing police gangs in LA. Law enforcement is an example.
Ever since I was a child, I've always dreamed of being a police officer. At 20, I enlisted as an active duty U.S. Marine and served for five years. After my honorable discharge, I went straight into college and graduated with honors. With all that behind my belt, I decided it was time for me to go after my dream, and I did. Tried out for Cincinnati PD, aced every test and obstacle thrown my way, and was well on my way to reaching my lifelong goal. Unfortunately, due to city politics and matters well out of my control, the recruit class I belonged to was scrapped. City was broke and needed to divert money to other areas. I was upset at first - actually, I was pissed - but in hindsight I'm grateful for that door closing. This came at a time when police brutality and abuse of power were gaining steam throughout the country, and, like many others, I was disgusted by what I saw on the news almost daily. In addition, I started thinking about the training we'd received and how unremarkable it was. For example, due to my military background I have extensive experience in deescalation training, an absolutely critical set of skills that, quite literally, can be the difference between life and death. It's hard to believe, but many, many police departments all across the country either don't provide this training, or it's done as an afterthought. I could go into much greater detail on my other observations, but I'll spare you a novel. These reasons, along with widespread corruption infecting some of the biggest departments in the country, made me realize that, despite my accolades and desire to serve, I could not be a cop. I couldn't wear the uniform every day without feeling like an enabler of sorts, working within the confines of a morally bankrupt institution and turning a blind eye to brutality and corruption. I'm at a point in my life now where I can honestly say I'm happy; however, that desire still remains deep within me, and it's hard to get out.
So gross. How can a man be a police officer and do this when he has no legitimate evidence of wrongdoing. At a bare minimum, all seized assets should be held by a 3rd party and returned to the citizen within a year unless a conviction is obtained.
Cops remembering the tv cameras: I'm here for the drugs first, I want those drugs! Cops on seeing the stacks of money and a BIG bag of drugs: Get that money out! I want to count it! No this in MY stack! You're stacks over there! (As the drugs sit forgotten in the drawer)
Im pretty sure ive heard chains from “pay day 2” say that. Looks like the cops gont inspired from the video game but didnt want anyone shooting at them so they went after civilians
Seems also that "speedy trial" should play a part in either charge someone of a crime within a certain period, and if not, automatically return the monies immediately .
They didn't have a problem during slavery! they didn't speak up once when Regan had his war on drugs agenda! Don't speak about them being treated unfair, because when they were growing the goods they thought they were living their best lives!

Let's face it folks, Law enforcement in the U.S. didn't have a wholesome start to begin with, as an armed arm of big business and government. Therefore, no one should be surprised with this latest round of insults to our civil liberties. It should be equally unsurprising how cheap the price is to convince law enforcement to cross the legal line.

The police sound like a cartel to me
Government employed and armed thugs as opposed to the self/gang employed thugs on the street.
They can't kill you but they can put you in a fucking cage for the rest of your life. Which is more inhumane?

I googled Civil Forfeiture and all of the results was for the united states
It would be great if you could prove and source any of these allegations. If not, this sounds like nothing more than allegations.
You still have to prove it, like show us the sources, you are currently asking us to trust you at face value, and not even that.
To put things in perspective, if I say: 'There is a god named Tuah and Tuah is a gnome living inside the earth, I've got no proof, but I know it myself as fact - you have to do the research yourself...'
Do you understand where I'm getting at? What you're saying could possibly be true, it could also be false, but it lies with the accuser to prove it, which is you.

nobody gonna mention how the cop with the ar-15 basically threatened to shoot his dog ?
Apparently it's common in America police like to shoot dogs
Awful. That's threatening my child and I take it as such.
@@SmallPaul.
He said it himself: "We're looking for large amounts of money."

It's more than extortion, it's straight up robbery at gun point (or threat of)
Swamp Life - uh...maybe you should look up the definition of extortion
That's why you do everything you can to make sure there is nothing for them to take. As an individual, there's little you can do to prevent legal theft and robbery by government officials, but you can limit what they can take. Never carry more cash than you're willing to lose and never drive a vehicle you would be upset at losing. Also helps to not spend any money if you can help it in the areas where cops are thugs.

Since my brothers dash cam didn't cover the rear we don't have video of the officer running the dog around the vehicle but the officer said the dog hit on something
Now they have the right to search the vehicle my brother told them were his money was and they got it the thing is that was the end of the search.

Miguel Lopez might have an interest in keeping the drug war going, lol.
But as the cartel can't afford this as their profit is going down, the cartel will end up weak, and defenceless.
there's a reason some drugs are illegal, others maybe should be...

*BE the change you seek..We believe in you!* ❤
wHat are you doing for work 2day?
Well said
Go get in there and grab them by the balls and make a whole turnaround of the system.
Super true my veteran buddy was saying same thing
I love how you get cops who do this shit for 10 years and then realize, "What have I become?"
"So we smoked a little weed, so what." 😂😂😂
Constitution? What's that?... Fair Trial? Never heard of that before
THANK YOU VICE NEWS, for finally bringing this story and matter to the forefront ! Because not to long ago it all happened to me as well...
So which agency takes assets from crooked cops and departments and gives it to the citizens?!?!
Robin hood
None. They all have each other's backs. F*ck tha police
None, if the PD get sued its taxpayers money yet again that pays for their screw up
3:11 Officer: Na i gotta find the meth fir...
Officer2: theres a safe
Officer: Wheres the safe
lmao
Im pretty sure ive heard chains from “pay day 2” say that. Looks like the cops gont inspired from the video game but didnt want anyone shooting at them so they went after civilians
They are not after drugs. They after everyone hard earned money 😂
They straight up sounded like fiends
“Pennies from heaven”
Isn’t that adorable??
"toy/s"
mixingrecords what would officer401 say??
Seems also that "speedy trial" should play a part in either charge someone of a crime within a certain period, and if not, automatically return the monies immediately .
The case with the old pot smokers is just ridiculous
They didn't have a problem during slavery! they didn't speak up once when Regan had his war on drugs agenda! Don't speak about them being treated unfair, because when they were growing the goods they thought they were living their best lives!
triggered.
Michelle Espino it is
@@Igotouhere EXACTLY LOLL I DONT FEEL BAD FOR THEM ... NOW HE SEE HOW IT FEELS.
igotouhere ci you just assumed so much about how they acted politically cuz they’re white lol. U literally just generalized an entire generation of white people. You don’t know shit ab them other than that they might go to jail. Stop being an ignorant prick
"Land of the Free," sorry I can't stop laughing!
It's more like land of the corrupt!!!! Sad but true
If you want a career in the life of crime, work for the government!
"How much is it going to cost?" How much do you got?
More like, land of the free money for thieves errr I mean “cops”. 🤣🤢
@@maxaustin973 you mispelled courts. Cops are just the peons.
This is sickening
2:30 "i don't wanna have to shoot your dog" man it's really easy to tell when these guys are lying for the camera.
Saying I don't wanna have to shoot your dog is such a low move.
it sounds more of a threat than a warning
Philthy it is a emotional threat to attack someones mental is the easiest thing to take a hold of and cops been doing it for years as "tactics"
Freedom 101 says you should be able to put whatever you want in your body without fears of being locked up.
It is "legal" highway robbery, under the color of the laws.
Cops = Road Pirates
Now I understand the movie Training Day 💡😅💡
'Id either live like a man than die like a coward'

Actually scary as hell to know this is real.
Burglars always look for the safe first too!
The war on drugs was a disaster from beginning to end.
