- Part medic, part combat warrior, it is the unique and demanding role of Air Force Special Warfare Pararescuemen to save the lives of people injured both on and off the battlefield. These specialists go through extensive physical and technical training to master the skills needed to rescue others and operate under some of the most extreme conditions around the world. Visit www.airforce.c... for more information.
Currently in highschool and want to join VERY bad. I was thinking I want to be a PJ but my dad and grandpa (who was an e-4 army and e-9 force mcpo navy) told me I should go officer. Obviously that means I should go CRO but I wouldn’t want to stop deploying after the recommended 2-8 years. Might want to go enlisted then officer to get the experience. What an honor that would be, to save the lives of our brave soldiers.
Thank you for your support, If you have any questions and need assistance in locating your area recruiter, let us know. We will be happy to help.

lol same bro. i plan on going to college, but i'm not sure whether to go rotc and become a cro and stop deploying after 2-8 yrs or just enlist after i finish college and go be a pj which i would prefer. good luck whether you become a pj or a cro.
@@williamzhu9160 Hey there, planning to go to USAFA, but after your recent comment have questions. After how long does an enlisted PJ stop deploying? And if you are an enlisted PJ, then become a CRO, how much time would you have?(Asking if becoming a CRO restricts your time)
@@unknown4133 i think deploying as a pj largely depends on your rank. msgt chapman was a cct, but still completed his final deployment as a tech sgt, so i'd assume that just like other jobs, you do combat deployments as an enlisted until you reach the administrative phases. on the other hand, being a cro, it would also depend on your rank, but generally you only do 2-4 combat deployments from what i've heard until you're stuck doing administrative stuff. the jobs are totally different though. the actual point of being a pj is to be the boots on the ground, while cros only do combat deployments so that they get the perspective required to actually administrate properly.
in short, it's not about time, it's about rank and role. they don't deploy you for the sake of doing so, they do it because of a purpose. if that's your job and you're physically and mentally capable of completing your job in combat, then they'll deploy you. if that's not your job, or you're not physically or mentally capable, they'll obviously not deploy you.
Which did u end up doing
“The things we do so that other may live” I like it
That is NOT the Pararescue Motto. This is it...THESE THINGS WE DO THAT OTHERS MAY LIVE.

Im currently one class away from nursing school. After two years of my accelerated course i could settle down and make a career off it. My question to you is, can i train to be a pararescue while studying this degree so when my contract is up i could transition easily?
I can't believe it can be this good

This looks wild!
It is, it is. I miss working with my PJs. Awesome, professional guys.
Joe H Were you a PJ?
@@coles2688 no, I was a medic but I worked with them at Hurlburt Field along with the CCT and TACPs. Awesome groups of Airmen.
If I joined the AF, if I couldn't fly helos, I'd be Pararescue or Combat Controller. As it was.... I went Army.
But AF Paras are the Best!

I would love to do this! Thanks to ADHD, I'll never even get the opportunity!
@brockcooper2377 Unfortunately, this is a (potentially) medically disqualifying condition. If you have been diagnosed by a doctor as having ADD/ADHD, you must meet the following requirements in order to apply:
- Must be off medication for a minimum of 15 months. (You must be removed off of the medication by a doctor and it is written in your medical records. An applicant cannot just stop taking prescribed medications on their own.)
- You must have a current note from primary care provider validating stable status with condition, must summarize the diagnosis, history of treatment, and should rule out any residual of ADD/ADHD
- Need pharmacy records for past 5 years on pharmacy letterhead with date range annotated
- Show evidence of successful academic and work endeavors while off medication
- Show evidence that applicant was not provided classroom aids such as private study area, special tutors, additional time to complete assignments or tests.
Candidates who do not meet the standard of never having taken more than a single daily dosage of medication or not having been prescribed medication for their condition for more than 24 cumulative months after the age of 14 will be processed for a waiver if they have demonstrated at least 15 months of performance stability (academic or vocational) off medication. Waiver approval is not guaranteed. Please contact a recruiter for more details.

How does the initial training differ between new recruits and prior service? Do we go straight to assessment and selection or do we get to do the pre-training too?
If you did not have a Special ops career in your prior branch then you will have to go thru the pre-training
