@@dallasyap3064 We have MERT, which is slightly different. MERT is a team of doctors, nurses and paramedics who do a similar job using a chinook. They are not SOF troops like PJs are though and would rarely discharge a weapon, a job usually carried out by an RAF gunner from the door. Whilst they lack in military skill, they gain in medical skills. That chinook essentially becomes a flying hospital and saved many British and US serviceman in afghan. I may be a civilian and have never held a gun, but it doesn’t mean I don’t have respect for these guys. The ones willing to risk the most dangerous of situation just to rescue one person regardless of military or civilian.
I write fanfiction on Wattpad and am in the process of basing a large section of a story I’m writing on the PJs using the footage as a sketching board to which to write. I hope to explain to readers how it feels in the best way I can think of what it means to look up at a medic. To feel being carried into the chopper as their squadmates kiss them goodbye.
When characters propose a ceasefire to send for a medivac to evacuate the enemy’s medic and prepare an IO mid transit. I hope to capture the essence best I can because I’ve always been fascinated with war. To show others when reading a glimpse onto the battlefield of what it feels to lose a friend or watch others perform heroic actions at the cost of their own future.
In the end, I do the best I can in what ways I can.

Had you guys pick up a LN with a GSW for me outside of Kandahar in 2010. I almost thought that was video of it. Looked just like cop 9-1 and the guy even had a 4th ID patch on.
