I served in the USAF from 2005 to 2013. I came in Security Forces, and retrained to Special Warfare-Special Reconnaissance. I can see from these recent videos posted on this channel that a fair bit has changed and it seems to be for the most part, a change for the better. To those still serving, thank you for your service. To those looking to join these career fields, know that it will be tough, but the training will be some of the lightest tasks compared to actual deployment. It is designed that way to get you through it, give you the skills, condition, and tools to get you, and those you serve with, through those deployments.
I am not a recruiter, but I am happy to help or give advice if anyone asks for it.
Hey Surge, I just started talking to recruiters today. Any advice on prep from your personal experience would be helpful. I see that the AF has a training program that I downloaded but I’d love to hear more about your experience.
@@Mass_Tone One thing I would say that may not be found in many recruitment videos is to make absolutely sure that you are going in to service, and into your choice of career field for the right reason, and that you don't come out of tech school with an attitude like you have made it and think you are already the best. Another thing I would strongly suggest is to maintain a physical copy of your medical records throughout your entire career. We may be in a digital age now, but in my 8 years of service, even as late as 2011, my medical records and other records had been lost many times, by both, the USAF, and by the VA. The result of that, I am still fighting the VA for benefits to this day. Do not let that discourage you. I would still do all of it again, even with the knowledge I have now. The max age to join the Air Force is 39. This includes our special warfare career fields.

@Gabriel Palmones From what I understand, you may need to get your green card first, however my recommendation is to talk to a recruiter and go from there. I do know for certain though, that there is a route to US citizenship after you join the US military. I served with someone who was born in Iran and had a green card, then joined the USAF and eventually went through the process and became a US citizen while he was still serving. Many of us celebrated, including some in his chain of command. Best of luck and do not give up!

To qualify for enlisted you must meet the below qualifications.
Be a US citizen or possess a USCIS Form I-551 (green card) status in their
possession, solely indicating permanent resident status. Applicants may process with (1) an
INS Form I-551 with an expiration date greater than two years from date of issue (a
“permanent” card); (). (You must obtain this status on your own, the Air Force
cannot assist you with obtaining it)
You cannot be a Conscientious Objector. A conscientious objector is an individual who has claimed the
right to refuse to perform military service on the grounds of freedom of thought, conscience, or religion.
Any Law Violations will need to be evaluated.
Any use of illegal drugs or misuse of prescription medication will need to be evaluated.
You will also have a credit check run looking for delinquencies and overbalanced credit.
Be between the ages of 17-39. If 17 you will need parental consent and be either a HS graduate or a
senior in HS.
Be of good health all medical issues will need to be evaluated. Meet our height and weight

Be a high school graduate, junior or senior for enlistment. College Grad or senior for Officer Programs.

Until the Air Force can fix their toxic leadership epidemic, i highly suggest people dont join. Period. Not worth it. Especially if you do not want to take the jab, do something thats actually a skill, i.e. Trade skill, develop a craft. Also the chances of you passing these courses, are slim.
Let the Air Force drown in their mistakes.

WOW. I didnt think they provided this much help. I mean I figured they just throw you into 10 mile runs with no prep besides the basic physical tests. I guess it makes sense they take data on these candidates, very cool.

Special Warfare training is for those applying for any 1Z AFSC which comes after basic. SERE is not apart of this video

This isn't Basic Training. This is for Special Operations, on the same level as SEALS, Green Berets, etc... SERE is included as part of the overall training. If you want more information look up Air Force Pararescue, Combat Control, Special Recon, or (to a lesser degree) TACP.
I think SERE training is in sw pipeline somewhere.

You must also possess a 10 Green Card with over 2 year remaining prior to the expiration date to join if you are not a US citizen. Applicants must be between 17 and 39; meet the mental, moral, and physical standards for enlistment; and must speak, read and write English fluently.
The Air Force does not bring applicants to the US to join unless there is an AF recruiting office or Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) to process through. You must complete all immigration processing and get to the United States legally on your own. The AF does not help.

I’m on 11 years old
Troy, by Federal Law you must be at least age 17 with parental consent and at least a junior to have an appointment or to join the Air Force. However, you may speak to recruiters when they come to your high school.
While you are still too young to enlist into the Air Force, it is never too early to start preparing. There are a few things you can do now to prepare for once you reach the required age. First study hard and graduate from high school. Get the best grades you can in all subjects especially English, Math and Science. This will help you improve your score on the ASVAB test which is required for enlistment. Say no to drugs and get an early start on physical conditioning are important steps in the right direction. And stay out of trouble. Law violations can delay and in some cases will disqualify you from joining the Air Force and taking advantage of the opportunities available. Starting early and being prepared are your best shot. Stay in contact with your Guidance Counselor and maybe we will see you in a few years.

@@Irishlegend81because none of these things existed 2 decades ago! There were no external programs from vets, even DoD had no programs for selection prep or anything. If you couldn’t hack it, that was it! Now they get all of these nifty programs and prep courses. Because of that, the percentage of those who pass have gone up by a good amount
Please do they consider height ? And do ladies also go through the same training?
You would need to meet the height requirements to be eligible to join. Females complete the same training as their male counterparts.

@@MM-qt8gz Wow you're so cool. Nobody cares that you're at selection. You're nobody until you earn the beret and even then you're still nobody until you've earned your keep. There's guys in their late 30s going through there because they've already been in or are prior service. I'm talking about first time enlistees dummy.
Other branches do it too. Option 40 for example.
