I just found you a few days ago and I love every video. Informative and beautiful but you make the video. You are an amazing person and it comes through on video. I don't write much but when someone has an impact on my outlook I have to tell them thank you!! THANK YOU!!
Hi Attilio: Thanks for sharing this video. I knew which system you were going to describe at the 1:13 point in the video. I also recently switched to Kase Wolverine Magnetic filters and I simply love my decision each time I use them. The size of the filter pouch and the convenience of using the filters is so nice. Finally, my brother is part of the Kase Filters Canada Team. Cheers, Keith
I have been using the Kase Wolverine filters since February and have had no regrets. Your reasons were very similar to mine. I am all about ease of use when I am out in the field. Being able to easily switch between filters or even stack filters was one of the main reasons I chose them.
I'll play along .. 2:48. My guess is the Kase magnetic system.... I am using the k&f concept square filter system. It's not bad for the price point.. I do look forward to your Thursday videos. You are so inspirational and I really like they way you describe your process.
I just did the same on my latest trip to Patagonia, besides practicality it is also less bulky and much lighter than the square system. Congratulations on hitting 100k subscribers, your videos are amazing.
I got the K&F Concept magnetic filters and absolutely love the ease of use. I realized that I didn't have a large enough polarizer after having to replace a lens, so I took that nudge to get their set with the CPL and a 10 stop ND. They haven't gotten much use yet, but are so simple to use and are decent quality.
I switched from the Lee Seven5 drop-in system a year ago. I also went for Kase and chose their 82mm Wolverine Magnetic Circular Filter system. My largest lens is 82mm so purchased step up rings for all my lenses. I also have 82mm magnetic lens caps for all lenses since I rarely use lens hoods (magnets are very strong). I have a 3, 6 & 10-stop ND and the magnetic Polarizer for the system.
Thank you to making this video. I didn't even know about magnetic filters. I've cussed at my share of screw-on filters and no doubt lost shots. I WILL check this out. The Kase filters sound wonderful and the controls especial for the GND and Circular polarizer are brilliant
Finché i filtri che ho ora resistono, terrò quelli. Poi passerò certamente a quelli magnetici, per praticità, velocità di montaggio e meno peso. Congratulazioni Attilio per i 100k!
Cool, after decade of Lee i bought the original Wolverine Magnetic Circular Filter system, which sooner after was upgraded to the Armour 100mm System, so I'm now stuck with these as another fortune to upgrade. Thanks for sharing
I just bought a K&F 10 stop magnetic ND filter with a magnetic step up ring and really like it. The quality is superb. and the price decent. The magnetic ND makes it so much easier to compose and focus and then snap the filter into place without having to thread it on.
Great review and tips for using this filter system, thank you for sharing… Although I’ve never utilized a filter setup in 10+ years of shooting I’m thinking I should look into one as I believe it would help me capture images as I envision them and avoid some post processing headaches.
I use Kase Wolverine Round Magnetic Filters for about 1,5 years instead of my 100mm Haida Set before. I love them every time I use them, the round filter are very compact in a very little case. I don't use graduate filter, so the round ones for me are the best option. I use a set in 82mm, so that they fit all of my lenses, with magnetic stepup rings. I can use 3 filters at the same time, clipping one over the other, without getting vignette, they are very slim. The optical quality is very good, better than all other filters I use before.
After watching this awesone video, I watched your long exposure tutorial and made a few observations. First, I love the beautiful photos of Half Moon Bay, secondly the pasta made me hungry and I had to make some, but first I laughed. Carrefour salt and Whole Foods olive oil two different worlds, lol. Now the strange part, I know the surfer guy you said hello to, he works for the same company I do. My wife thought I was crazy, so I showed her his website, even it was not completely sharp of him, it was obvious.
I bought Kase, but then I switched the Freeewell for several reasons. A. Freewell has more variety. B. Freewell offers the step-up ring, which is threaded as well as magnetic (only magnetic, which means you cannot use your threaded filters) C. With side-by-side comparison, I found Freewell not only has better optics more 🧲strength. D. Kase's lens cap is crap on the back; they have a foam that collects dust. So now I have 2 of Kaes filters collecting dust.
I do have a K&F UV (D) for my Ricoh GR III. NiSi Filter System has a square filter ND system for Ricoh GR3 (Master Kit). If you're so inclined, its a great camera if you don't want to carry a bunch of heavy stuff around. Someone was using it for landscape work while traveling. Interesting idea in my opinion.
Medium GND8 (0.9) 3 Stop Graduated Filter, Soft GND8 (0.9) 3 Stop Graduated Filter, HD Polariser, NiSi ND8(0.9) 3 Stop, NiSi ND64(1.8) 6 Stop is what NiSi includes.
Looks like some nice kit Attilio. I bought into the Lee system a while back. The screw-in polariser is stuck in the holder after I left it in due to the fiddling about getting it in. Although the big and little stopper have served me well. Seems that a lot of UA-cam photographers have turned away from Lee who were at one time the premier brand. Food for thought.
I had been considering a magnetic filter system for a while. I scratched my CPL on a hike. Second time in a year that the filter saved my lens. A few days later the K&F system was on Amazon Prime Days for 60% off. Definitely made it worth it. I just hated that they did not have the size or step ring I wanted so I cant fit my second most used lens.
I switched to a magnetic system and love it. I went with the K&F Concept magnetic filter system. The people at K&F are great, coupled with high quality, low price and fast shipping, they are my go to filter company. I also went to K&F Concept frame with CPL to use with my old filters. Now I have the best of both.
The new filters look pretty handy, but I have a big investment in PolarPro and the Lee “Stopper” filters. But, the Kase look very convenient!! Thanks for sharing!!
I knew it. Kase. I have been watching several video's with individuals using the Kase filters. I have made such an investment in the Lee System it will be a while before I consider changing. But they look great.
First of all, i love your creative efforts and deeply appreciate the manner in with you teach. I am curious if you can stack the circular ND filters. If you need to add a second ND filter, does it have to be one of the square filters? The kit only comes with GND Square filters. Do you have to invest in solid ND Square (or rectangular) filters? The other alternative is to buy a greater variety of circular ND values. Either alternative defeats the goal of minimizing the gear you take to the field.
I bought the K&F Magnetic Circular System, I did have a full kit of H&Y Square Magnetic System which I won on UA-cam, they were worth quite a bit of money and with me being unable to work due to health issues it was silly for me to keep them so bought the much much cheaper set and sold the H&Y set, didn’t get as much as I’d liked but still got 3 times what I paid for the ones I bought.
Oh man, I watched many of your videos, and others, about square filter systems and long exposure photography and I just, two weeks ago, bought a square system. Granted as a photo enthusiast I cannot afford the super expensive stuff. Oh well I still like and will watch your videos.

Hi Attilio, I have from 2 years lee 105 polariser an filter holder, NISI gnd 0.6, K&F 6 stops, HAIDA 10 stops. As I see insert a magnetic holder and its filter is not different to use a permanent adapter ring on the lens and attach the filter holder lee with or without the polariser, in my opinion. What about vignetting when using a lens under 20 mm with the new system?
I use the Kase Wolvarine system. I never use graduated filters as they are destructive and the effect Is not reversible. I rely on bracketing and of course post processing.
