I feel like such a goof! I saw your video the other day and the Pitaka Folio + MagEZ combo had me HYPED as I was dying for something that could stay on while using my Magic Keyboard. Cut to me browsing for cases the next day and seeing Tomtoc's folio case, with a back cover, and my brain instantly went "IT'S THE ONE THAT GUY HAD!" and I immediately purchased it. Well, here I am, because it came today and I didn't realize I had transposed my love for other Tomtoc products with this memory... and now I'm realizing how much more I'm going to have to pay to get this awesome setup -- which is fine, I just feel like a doofus LOL 😅 Thank you for the video!
All of those that really protect the Apple Pencil Pro while it is in my backpack are the ones to get for me. Those that just have a flap for the Pencil are not quite enough.
I bought my second Targus. Very difficult to insert. But lots of protection. I also do recordings and I have to take it out of the case which may be difficult. TBD.
A great review, Can I suggest that it would have benefitted from mentioning the weight of each case. As a user of the Pitaka combo I can vouch for everything you have said but would add that when connected to the Apple Magic Keyboard the keyboard won't close fully unless you apply pressure and hold which rather defeats the object. It also means that the sleep/wake function doesn't work. Pitaka recognise the problem, but I am not sure what they intend on doing about it.
Further to my review, I have since discovered that the elasticated strap that comes with the Pitaka MagEZ Case 2 is the workaround that Pitaka have come up with to stop the Magic Keyboard gaping when the keyboard is closed in an upright position (for example in a bag) with the iPad/Pitaka MagEZ Case 2 inserted. The gaping does not occur when the Magic Keyboard & iPad/Pitaka Mag EZ Case 2 is closed and lies flat on a desk.
With the pitaka combo, how do you keep up with your pencil say when you’re traveling etc? How more cases don’t hold the pen outside of exposing the magnet is beyond me!
Great video Michael! which one do you think is the best case against falls (i have a children that usually uses the ipad)? Another thing I am a bit concerned is that the m4 gest hotter than other ipads and don't know if it is a good idea to have a case covering all the back. What do you think? Thanks in advance!
Thank you. I can't identify which of these uses a leather cover. I know you mentioned microfiber as well. I'm going to buy my 4th case and I want the smart cover to be more silicone/ platic-y material for durability.
Looking at getting the Pitaka for the Magic Keyboard. Seeing a lot of reviews that it doesn’t allow the keyboard to close completely. Do you find that as an issue? Thank you!
It closes fine, yes there is a small gap because of the case. Apple didn't design it to be used with additonal cases so you will get this from other cases. I find with the case on the Magic Keyboard it actually helps to open the keyboard better.
Which case is the lightest? In my experience, most cases are far too heavy. They turn a light and thin iPad into a bulky laptop. And then there's really no point in using an iPad anymore.
Thanks for posting! This was a very informative video. One criticism, only to be helpful… You move your hands and the iPads around way too fast. Many of the shots are out of focus, out of frame, and do not let me see what you’re trying to explain. Good luck!
I just received the Pitaka leather case. It is thin yes but it is also built very cheap. The leather like material feels very cheap, the interior microfiber its definetely one of the worst and cheapest I have seen and the flap feels thin and terrible, it also barely stands in the back when you are using the ipad. I do not understand how you can recommend this product
I'm sorry but I can't agree with you. I've been using the case for a few weeks now and can confirm its the same material used for the apple folio (I also have it) and it definitely feels way better and nicer than most other cases I've tried or seen. I have heard about the flap not staying in the back securely but I can't back that up. Mine stays on perfectly with the built in magnets in the back. It's one of the best cases for the iPad especially at that price range and I definitely recommend it.
Hi there. Without concern of weight. What case that’s rugged enough to use the I pad as a true tablet but be able to attach to the Magic Keyboard. Even if I don’t have to leave it in the keyboard. My challenge is that I use the iPad as a true tablet but then I also use it like a computer. I want to have that flexibility, even though it might be an inconvenience to work simultaneously I tried the pikata, It was way too thin and exposed a portion of the iPad. If I would’ve known better, I would’ve purchased the Logitech version but it’s too late for that for me.
pitaka is trash, it doesnt close all the way with with the magic keyboard, you know that, this is why you hold it with both hands to show thats it closes.
It's not a trash case, it's a solution to protecting the iPad in a Magic Keyboard that Apple has designed specifically to not use cases with. Yes it doesn't fully close but it's still a solution to an issue that Apple don't address.

I feel like we need more iPad case designers
Agreed!!
And ipad keyboard case designers :-/
Agreed!
No. 6 is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Slim bumper & slim folio is the best combo of protection and slimness.
Nice! Glad to be of help!

Hello can I use the Pitaka magEZ but with the Apple smart folio case?? Thanks and great video as usual.
Not that i'm aware of.
All of those that really protect the Apple Pencil Pro while it is in my backpack are the ones to get for me. Those that just have a flap for the Pencil are not quite enough.
Fair play.
I’m a flap guy
I bought my second Targus. Very difficult to insert. But lots of protection. I also do recordings and I have to take it out of the case which may be difficult. TBD.
Nice!
@ I finally figured out how to take the iPad out of the case. The same as the 6 year old Targus, but a tighter.

The Pitaka folio has the magnetic flap that holds the pencil in place.
@@MichaelsTechTalk is that enough?

The Spigen cases would have better drop protection than the others.
Thanks for the reviews
Thanks for tuning in!
I just want something light with a kickstand on the back like a Switch. I might just wrap the back and glue a stand to the wrap.
The Pitaka folio case is really thin and gives lots of folding options for viewing angles.
Some nice cases pitika looks cool thanks as always Michael 😊
Glad you like them!
Can it fully close with the magic keyboard? Thx
Nice video. Thank you!
Glad you liked it!

The Pitaka Folio is PU Leather with a microfiber lining.

Pitaka doesn't close well with the iPad Pro m4. fair warning
It’s a solution to an accessory that isn’t supposed to have a case in the first place.
Nice vid. Which one was the lightest? I’m looking for max portability
The Pitaka cases are pretty thin and light.
Great reviews , thanks
Thanks for watching!
Which case is the lightest? In my experience, most cases are far too heavy. They turn a light and thin iPad into a bulky laptop. And then there's really no point in using an iPad anymore.
The PItaka cases would be the thinnest.

Does the Pitaka case works with the 13 inch ipad m2 Air
Yes it does according to Pitaka's website.
I love the keese
Not sure what that is.. lol
The weight and final thickness of the cases with the Ipad fitted would be really useful. Can you add next time ?

I like Apple Smart Folio the most
Nice!
For 100 bucks that’s murder
You forgot to mention the pitaki does not let the magic keyboard close all the way without pressue. No good
But it's still a good option that Apple doesn't provide a solution for..
@ i disagree sir.
@@resdawgs fair enough.
ESR is the best
Glad you like it!
Thanks!
No problem!
Nice case haul
Thanks!

It’s an ultra thin leather/magnetic case. It’s a good case as is the same one from Benks.

You're kinda stuck for case options that work with the magic keyboard sadly. Haven't seen many other than the pitaka that is good.
Just brought the patika case it’s very nice but I don’t like the edges of the case it’s very sharp type and annoying when rubs against my fingers
The joys of slim folios cases sadly.
Can it fully close with the magic keyboard? Been hearing it has been the issue (cannot close fully; some gap is visible).
It doesn't close well with the magic keyboard
how is it that the newest ipad with the worlds best visuals has the most boring cases possible, shouldn’t the outside represent the inside 😢
Hmmmmm..
@ it’s ok I found a kind of solution, a purple ripoff version of the otterbox defender case, $60 and looks good 😂
$70 for a case plus another 70 for the other one, you are joking
£1300 device and cases are too expensive??
You call these "thin"? What a joke...
Well they are a lot thinner than the Rugged cases i reivewed..
