Valleyfair associate here, Some things that caught my attention: 4:39 - that's the road to the back of the park for deliveries and the associate parking lot 9:59 - I work for the panda express at the park and I never knew that other cedar fair parks didn't give out lids and straws for the paper refill cups. Glad you enjoyed the park. If you ever come back in the future, check out the waterpark too! We got a pretty solid water park that was upgraded a few years ago. Also, one thing you have to experience is the holding brake on steel venom (it's fixed!). Hope you can come back soon!
Hey Taylor, again, it was a pleasure meeting you, Sara and Scott. Im glad you had a good time. Couple of notes, Steel Venom has its holding brake on the back spike working again. Also, High Roller has had several trim brakes added that have slowed its pace. The last little air time hill before the final brake run used to be its best! Anyway, plan to come back when we get our next coaster addition.
Valleyfair is such a good home park, wish they’d add though! Back in the early 2000’s they actually did have a mild thing which was quite fun for a kiddy coaster haha! Renegade was actually my first ever coaster! I was a tall 5 year old that had no fear!
I feel like this park just needs one new stand out coaster, and it can be a top park with Kings Island Carowinds and Cedarpoint. My home park is dorney and this just looks like a better Dorney.
I rode it the other day, the pacing is fantastic and there are plenty of moments of floater and laterals. It's easily the best coaster in the state. Also that S-shaped drop is so much fun in the back
@@shchorss i can see Gold Striker being better i assume those two are close. Im riding Mystic in 2-3 weeks but most ppl i usually agree with have it as an averagd GCI, and Prowler looks like a top 5 GCI in the states but i think Renegade looks superior
The reason for the trim brakes if I remember correctly or I have heard is because when Excalibor first opened there was a hill between the first drop and the turnaround but the hill was too intense so they had to remove it and that is why you have that flat section there and thus the trim brakes at the top of the first drop. Also I completely agree that VF needs another major attraction. It has been well over a decade. That is one criticism of being owned by CP is they put all their money into their main park and ignore their smaller parks. I know the local management of VF is not happy with CP and takes shot at the parent company all the time on their twitter for the lack of anything new.
Went here a month or so back. My first Cedar Fair park. I loved Wild Thing. I was impressed at how smooth Corkscrew and High Roller were. What impressed me most was the laid back feel the place has.
It's really funny how you were referring to Wild Thing because there actually used to be a kiddie coaster here (before Planet Snoopy opened) called Mild Thing. I rode it once or twice but barely remember it.
It's our home park. It's a great small clean park. It's pretty much perfect for us since we have a kiddo. So it has a really good mix for us. Plus the included water park is really good. They did free season passes for kids 5 this season. Something else that you touched on is that there's a really good energy there.
This park has special meaning for me as I spent my first visit in 2013 with my brother, my dad and my dad’s father (my grandfather) before he passed away from Alzheimer’s a few years later... it was pretty awesome.
Thanks for visiting my home park. It never gets invested in like it deserves bc it’s a “regional” park. I call bs on that statement. MOA is a tourist destination, so VF could/should become one. Then maybe, just maybe we might get a coaster or three that we deserve…..instead of a Larson Loop with a Prince theme. Love the channel!!
Very satisfying to see you enjoyed what is currently my hometown park enough to say at the end you'd be back if they added something new. It's a lovely regional park that has been shown lots of love even without very many capital investments. Now if only Cedar Fair would open their eyes and recognize it as well.
Taylor, thank you for putting out good, appropriate content. I love watching your videos I've been watching for quite awhile and will always continue to watch.
Valleyfair really is the biggest victim of the Paramount Parks purchase. Before it, it was a top park for CF right behind Point and Knotts. Afterwards, it is in the same priority as Michigan's Adventure.
If they put in a new rollercoaster that’d bring in so much energy into the park and spike attendance. I intentionally haven’t gone for years because I told myself I wouldn’t go until a new coaster comes.
I remember back before Steel Venom and the Larson loop was there, there were two 18 hole mini golf courses, go karts, and the bumper boats attached to an arcade. You could enter that section of the park without paying the entrance fee there and that's why its in such an odd spot.
I wish CedarFair would invest massive money into ValleyFair!! The park deserves a lot more love! I think they could develop all the neighbouring land that is after Excalibur!!!!
You can easily tell which parks Cedar Fair cares more about. That being said, their less popular parks could be so much better with a new coaster and some good operations.
Thanks for finally visiting my home park, I’ve been subscribed to your channel for sooooo long just waiting for this video game I come out. What’s your thoughts on a new coaster there? Keep up the work :)
Valleyfair is also my home park and I can say they definitely need a new coaster soon. Iowa has a new theme park coming in called lost Island with a vekoma invert and intamin launch. Then there's Adventure Land not to far away from there that has just gotten 3 new Coasters within the past 5 years, most recently being a sms free spin. On top of that there were/ still are plans to build a rmc Raptor at a Waterpark in Sioux Falls. I hope Cedarfair management notices that the competition is growing up in the Midwest.

0:20 Come to Gilroy Gardens, I'll drive you guys to and from the airport/hotel/park. You gotta experience it, it's such a beautiful park and has the only Morgan mine train in the world (that would be Morgan world completion for you, right?)
I still enjoy wild thing, first 2 hills are fun and the bunny hills are decent at the end. My biggest issue is the middle of the ride loses intensity. And I have been to cedar point. I hope cedar fair will invest more money into valleyfair, it has great potential!
Renegade is excellent; definitely has the best first drop on a GCI. I agree High Roller has better airtime than what people give it for, but I still say Renegade has the best air in the park
We just got home from Carowinds about an hour ago and they run their wild mouse the same way - only one car on the track at a time. If I had noticed that before we had already gotten about 1/3rd of the way into the line, I probably would of skipped it (and damn the credit). I think it might be a Cedar Fair thing (just like the seatbelts on their B&Ms). My memories of Wild Thing are great...it was one of my favorites back in the early 2000s. IDK if they're trimming it now, or if it's just that the bar has been raised so high now with newer, more extreme rides. Anyway, Vallyfair is a nice park. It's not a destination park, but I always try to hit it when I'm in Minneapolis (I'm in Milwaukee, so it's not too far).
This is sadly my home park… we’re just sooo desperate to get a new coaster… like a B&M invert, some sort of RMC, or just anything big that would stand out in the park…
