Thank you for your in-depth explanation on the the when and why to take exogenous ketones. I did not know that you signal the liver to make ketones when you ingest ketones. My husband and I are trying to boost our ketones and push our bodies back into weight loss after we both have lost 100 lbs. we both contracted Covid in January and gained about 15lbs even though we stayed on a ketogenic diet and now we keep loosing and gaining the same 5 lbs back. We are now using your guide lines and have lowered our protein and raised the fat and lowered the carbs down below 20 total and are testing our glucose and ketones. My A1C is 5.4 and my husbands A1C is 5.8. His average ketones are at only 0.5 mine range between 0.5 to 1.1 depending on the day. We are going to start adding exogenous ketones in order to boost our own. We are also adding 20 and 24 hour fasting into our weekly protocol in hopes that this helps get our weight moving down once again. Thank you .
I use BHB's to get back on track after stumbling from eating too often or eating sweets. Part of it might be psychological, they are an expensive item and once I have a dose I'm reminded that I want to make it count, so it's incentive to be more strict with my fasting and carb intake. But I also know, thanks to you, that scientifically I have helped my body recover from my mistake a little bit quicker than without the exogenous ketones. I try to always have some on hand.

I have never used exogenous ketones. I’ve been doing keto since 2016 and I’ve lost a lot of weight. We were on vacation two times this year from January to March and I gained about 15 pounds. Went carnivore no tracking no exogenous key tones and I am down to a size 12 from a 16. I can but my turns I just would not sit in them. I love the freedom of not having to mess with any of that joke
In a perfect world, an individual would have ketones produced endogenously through things like exercise, fasting, and diet, as well as exogenously through supplementation.
Why do I have to log in to buy product? I'm traveling and just wanted to buy 4 of the bhb/mct drink before they are all gone. I don't carry log in passwords with me
I also have issues many times with the volume. I use a large TV and a chromecast to watch Dr Boz and other videos on UA-cam. The volume is usually usable, but lower, than most other videos. I can us Bluetooth headphones if the volume is a bit low. But a bit more volume would be better. This video was better after she adjusted her mic though.
My daughter had gestational diabetes & her ob had a nutritionist who kept her on sad diet, just told her to measure her food & test glucose. I told her abt keto & was slapped down. Nutritionist said it bad. Dad is a big guy 6’5” and the baby is 95th % for height & weight. But he seems to be a big eater. Worry or not.

I do not use exogenous ketones directly, unless you consider MCT Oil to be exogenous ketones (I don't). I do put about 1 TBL spoon of MCT oil in my first coffee in the morning (along with 1 TBL spoon of butter). In later cups I leave out the MCT Oil. Butter also has some MCTs (and SCTs) and it does cause a small quick rise in ketones, but fat in general also does make ketones later after digestion. I can control my ketones with a little MCT oil for the short term and other fats for longer term control. I do try to keep my ketones above 1.0, or a Dr Boz ratio of less than 80, all the time. I have been doing this for four years now.
I sure wish I knew about Keto 20 years ago, going into my 50s. I had lots of aches and pains and was not looking forward to my old age, when I was sure it would be really bad. Up until I went Keto at age 68, I saw many different doctors for a bad elbow, knee, wrist, and more. There was nothing they could do but just tell me it was old age. I had no idea that it was the cookies I was wolfing down all the time, that was creating the pains. I wasn't really fat, just had a bit of a tummy, and I thought my body just dealt with the cookies somehow. I was always tall and skinny but I definitely was getting visceral fat buildup. Luckily I was able to reverse almost everything. The last thing to be fixed is a large prostate.

I have tough time reconciling what you teach with ketone to other carnivore Dr that discuss ex ketone are a waste of money. How do you get these numbers? Also, I've watched you for a long time and it makes me uncomfortable when you read your reviews online. It sounds very boastful and makes me think your lectures are now more sales versus education. Am I wrong. I'd prefer to hear from Dr boz versus other commenter. I really value your information, I'm just having issues with this new strategy.
Dr. Boz needs to make a living as well as help people. Others like Dr. Berry do say that higher ketones are not REQUIRED to lose weight for keto/carnivore .. also true. But Dr. Berry does say exogenous ketones are great for the therapeutic uses like epilepsy or brain issues. So in reality, he is saying that you don't need a specific ketone level to see benefits, but that with a higher ketone level there are other things that can happen. There is a very popular brain study that say ketone concentration directly effects the energy level in the brain. Many of the low carb mental health providers say higher levels of ketones have a bigger impact on depression, etc. I absolutely can tell if my ketones are higher or lower and I feel my best if I keep my ketones above 1.0. I don't do it with exogenous ketones, but I do use fat to keep my ketones above 1.0.

I live in the UK and it costs about $4.00 to use a ketone strip. Can’t afford it.
