  • The Angry Troll Linear Boost Amplifier: Overview Of Features & Sounds
    www.jimdunlop.c...
Way Huge and Jim Dunlop present a series of instructional demos that
provide overviews of Jeorge Tripps' signature Way Huge pedal line along
with professional tips on how to use the pedals in musical ways.
In this episode, Tal Morris gives an introduction to the features and
sounds of the Angry Troll. Highlighted here is the pedal's amazing ability
to work seamlessly with the sound of an amplifier as a transparent boost
while at the same time allowing the user to add selectable
amounts of its characteristic shimmering overdrive to that tone.
    GEAR USED IN DEMO:
B3 (Gene Baker) "Fire SL" Guitar + Angry Troll Linear Boost Amplifier + Two Rock "Schofield" Signature 50 watt 6l6 amp
    Cable supplied by LAVA Cable
Recording using Audix i5 & D2 microphones coupled with a Royer 101 Ribbon
& Universal Audio Apollo A/D interface

I'd like to see it boost a overdriven tone!

This is definitely on my short list of pedals to get! That first setting he played absolutely nailed the tone for Neil Schon's intro on Stone in Love.

Thing I like most about way huge is their naming.. I mean who else would have a knob to control your guitars anger.... LOL
I have always been the type to play a good guitar straight into a good tube amp, but I think I might make the way huge aqua puss and angry troll my first two pedals!

This seems like the perfect pedal to add grunt to weak output single coils before your pedal chain normally setup for humbuckers

I was really looking forward to this pedal. Unfortunately, I had mine for like a day and had to return it. The boost itself is really good, it does preserve your EQ very well and that is a big plus. But I had a problem with the Anger. While using my clean channel the Anger setting caused very uneven crackle while I let the tone ring and slowly fade away. I know the crackle is always there normally into some level when the tone is being distorted but here it was too apparent and for me very unpleasant. In this video you can barely hear it because he always mutes the strings. I thought it was something wrong with my amp (25W tube Peavey Bravo 112). But nope, in some other videos I've seen here where the reviewer lets it ring you can hear it as well. Some people perhaps won't mind but I hate that randomly reappearing quality of that crackle. Such a shame I was really looking forward to this thing.

It'd be awesome if we could get videos like this but for bass because I know a good deal of the Way Huge pedals sound great with bass, this one included! This is definitely my favourite booster/grit pedal for bass!

This pedal is like two pedals e?If you use only the volume is ONLY a boost pedal? And if you want to and a gain rise up tha anger button. The gain of anger is distortion?

I'm looking for a pedal like this to hit my pre-amp hard. I have the Engl e520 which sounds just perfect however the rhythm channel on max is barely an ACDC gain structure and lead is more classic although quality wise it is up there with the Triaxis affair. I'm wondering if this pedal will put me in the zone I need which is powerful chugging punch for channel 2 and singing leads on the third channel. I need a box that is almost completely colourless so as not to change the e520s stunning tone. Anybody know if this is the one or is there something else out there that is perfect for this. Other people have said just get the new Engl e530 (modern) instead but it is insuperior as far as the organic, grainy growl that the older e520 has in heaps:)
