I film Motorsports all over Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Pennsylvania. Streamed in NC (1 time), VA (7 times). I usually have 3 bars of LTE Verizon (Straight Talk Wireless Hotspot) and Sprint (iPhone 6). Best was when I have 5 bars of LTE. Viewers really noticed a big difference. UA-cam seems better on uploads and playback ability. Also working with Sprint Mobility partner for Cell Extenders in a remote setting. You got 1 bar of LTE, no problem. Boosts signals by 200x.

Live streamed a church service using an AJA Helo, great box when you have solid inet, but i set the setting too high and the stream was choppy. epic fail, but learned some valuable lessons. i'm looking into the LU200 or LiveU Solo as an option for my future streams.

What up man Sean? Great seeing you at NAB. My son and I jumped on the liveU solo train and picked up a couple units. We have been streaming backstage at shows, in airports, in hotels, in the car... You name it... We are streaming from there. I love your videos, and recommend them to people trying to Geta handle on all this tech, stay funky and stay nerdy...

Great info but that thing is expensive! I used Facebook Live on location at an annual charity event just using the Facebook Page app on my iPhone 6S. Most important factors to good live streaming is stability of video and quality of audio. Smartphones have good enough cameras, but you really need to use a stabilizer and an external mic for professional results.

Have you tried bonding software for your laptop or mini pc. We're starting to test using a mini pc and Atem Mini as an ultra small kit for meetups and events. The software is less than $75/yr and you can bond ten cellular signals plus wifi and ethernet if available.

To stream live in the field, I put phone in airplane mode, then use Wi-Fi with a Verizon 4G LTE Jetpack. That way a call doesn't interrrupt the stream. External battery on the phone is helpful too.

Great that you have many uses out of it. I have a LiveU solo and haven’t use once. I still do t know what are the USB modems that actually work with it and how to set them with their own data connection. Do you have to open 2 separate accounts with different carriers and pay a data monthly fee on top of the LiveU clod service with bonding? That seems like a huge commitment for someone like me that doesn’t work so often live-streaming remotely every month.

    • @SurvivalSavvvy

Really depends on what you are using your camera for. Gopro5 audio is horrible unless you run and external mic which can get you into $500 and up I have done some tests on my channel. My goto camera any more is Canon G7X Mark II. I like how light it is. But you can not plug and external mic into it but you could use a recorder in your pocket if you wanted. At the same time the built in mic is fine for youtube. But it really depends what you are going to use your camera for. You will end up with more then one camera over time. This gets addicting. haahahahah

I’m considering both the Vidiu Pro or a LiveU Solo ( or a LiveU LU200e if I was super rich). At first I was convinced the Teradek was the best option, but after seeing and reading reviews, I’m not sure how reliable it is. The company I work for uses mid-level LiveU units and they work 247. I think I might go with LiveU now because I can trust it will work when I need it to... even though it can only bond two cellular modems.
