Is everyone who you were friends with many years ago still completely present in your life today? That’s just real life. It happens.
They needed her as simple as that. I bet the money didnt hurt her either. The 1st season was utter nonsense.

I'm very surprised Kim Cattrall agreed to this after her interviews saying she was done with the role. It's difficult to deny that she was the star of that show and should have been payed more during its run. I've read a rumor that Sarah Jessica Parker earned five times more than the rest of the cast members, which is outrageous if true.
I’m pretty sure she’s done with the bed hopping aspect of the role. It’s just going to be a solo scene/phone conversation with Carrie.

Pat Field is coming back this season, I think this helped change her mind.

I would pause the scenes and stare at Carrie's phone as they were coming in!! I cried when she only replied "Soon" to Carrie's request for a phone call.

In the middle of a huge PR blitz to promote S2, Kim brought more buzz and PRESS than any of them could, ‘just like’ always.
It's her negative lashing towards her co stars which is sad. I was excited but when she had her list of demands which included not being on set the same time as the other girls it no longer made sense. She's causing more strain. The other girls didn't even know she was coming back. Don't do ur role in vain. We love Samantha but if ur name is associated wit negativity that overshadows the art then I'm over it.
It’s not the same without Samantha, she was my favorite of the group, although all the other girls did well, Samantha sealed the group, I think she should be featured more if possible, the newer episodes without her are not very good, I will rewatch the older ones first and over again.

I’m all for supporting this show with or without samantha and big but I still can’t get over what they did to Miranda’s character as she was always my favourite and of course I will watch it and hope they have corrected all the crap from season 1 x
I agree with Kristin HBO should have kept Samantha's cameo hidden from the fans and onced the episode airs! BOOM!!! Now, we'll have to wait for the finale of this new season just to see that small of a cameo and it sort of ruins the vibes.

I love all the new characters but the show is 100% missing a Samantha energy. If the show is to be aspirational, it's not enough that the women are just rich and fabulous. They need a cool and calm factor that just isn't there. I'm of course going to be watching, but it just feels tedious that all we're going to get is 10 episode seasons with a plot that's basically aimless. Charlotte and Miranda are constant nervous wrecks and then Carrie is doing her comedy routine where she acts like something like poaching an egg is this massive existential undertaking. Oddly enough, the show feels so unserious without Samantha being there. Someone needs to tell these women to lighten up.

I can guarantee with Kim having the CEO of HBO/MAX contacting Kim personally and saying “What is it going to take to get you back”, Samantha WILL be back.

...I am so-o-o-o over what the cast thinks of Kim's/Samantha's return. Initially they acted like they knew nothing (maybe they didnt, w/all the toxic energy flowing on that set regarding Sam's/Kim's existence). Remember, Kim stated, these women were not casual friends w/her, and beyond acting via script requirement, there was little interaction. Too bad. Knowing SJP held all the cards for this show, and the fact, independent from SATC, the actresses had little redeeming work after SATC ended, so i understand why they fully support SJP in many ways including who to befriend to keep your source of income steady. I find some inner sense of pleasure knowing Samantha holds, or seems to hold, more regard than Carrie in the series.
Samantha is back
Kim got a HUGE paycheck, and SJP wants big ratings for season 2 so her $1 million an episode paycheck continues for a season 3. 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
I was wondering that because they keep saying it’s the 25th anniversary is a 25th anniversary, really that’s the only reason you want more from Samantha.

I think this "small leak" was intentionally put out purposely for publicity to get the audience to watch. The scene is at end of last episode and is a phone call. Funny that the actresses put out stuff like it is a small scene , a nod to our audiences and don't be disappointed. I started to watch Kim's Netflix series,.. Thinking it will be more engaging than than Just Like That.

They should have killed Samantha off and had the ladies dealing with that grief of losing a friend. The odds of 1 in 4…..it’s high come 50’s. She could’ve been honoured and remembered in the ladies outlooks, and new characters would be better appreciated for the similarities or nods to Samantha. To think Samantha is thriving without the 3 others, I just don’t believe it. Those 4 were so integral to each other as grown people. They weren’t 20 somethings fresh into the World bonding with random people in work, clubs, etc. They were adults choosing a family. And not having her as option, well it takes away the chatter. Now I’m aware this is a show. But just how I think of those characters.
well even though i am a young Chinese fan, Because of the Samantha character , i watched the all the season of SATC, but for AJLT, because without Samantha , so i didn't feel like to watch. I think Samantha is my favorite character all time ......

They’re all insane if they believe any true SITC fan would not prefer Samantha to be a part of this all. That character is beloved & although SJP may believe that the world revolves around Carrie, I don’t know one fan that watched solely for one character

I'm hopeful! If we think about it, the drama from the original series was quite a long time ago. I know they've argued publicly since then, but even that was a few years ago now. There's been enough time for everyone to put it aside for the sake of money and love for the show. The other ladies are speaking positively about the cameo, maybe Kim will come around too. Kim does love Samantha and there are big paydays on the table awaiting her. Let's hope she comes to her senses!

I'm loving the second season! I laughed out loud a few times, it's has the vibe of the old SATC, but updated and modern. The new characters are developing nicely, and we get to see Che's vulnerable side. I won't spoil anything, but Charlotte is HILAROUS! Rock has some great lines too. Anthony is funnier than ever. All the ladies look amazing -- great fashion moments. Best of all, no references to being "old." Yes, they've matured, but they are not ancient. Though I may never have their great wealth, it's more real than ever.
I hope Kim demands better writers. These writers are destroying the legacy.
Am i the only one in the world who was not necessarily bummed out when Samantha left? I mean she gave us some good laughs and all but she was also the most selfish of them all and a bit superficial. I did not really miss her character tbh - now if u ask me, its Miranda's character change which bothers me more in AJLT😢
Kim spewed out so much negativity and hatred that she put a shadow over the character Samantha.

It's difficult for me to accept that Samantha wasn't in AJLT. She is definitely a missed beloved character and no matter how much they sugar coat it and bring current issues to the table, it will never be the same without Samantha. Unpopular opinion....Kim Cattrall had a huge opportunity to show how powerful of an actress and consummate professional she is and sadly...she has blown it. Watch the new series Glamerous she is in and it is abysmal....Kim looks bored and boring....With all the difficulties between Kim and Jessica, one would wonder what really happened who made this toxic work environment ??? Jessica through time has stayed the course working hard with all her businesses and performances while Kim has left a trail of people almost as long as Shannon Doherty.
She doesn't need the money bad enough to be in a toxic environment. Kim gets along with everyone except Sarah Jessica Parker.
