CWG is a proud WV boy and diehard Mountaineer. Seneca Creek is in Pendleton County West Virginia beneath the Seneca Rocks.

I've been listening to Charles Wesley Godwin for about a year or so since Michael Palmisano features him on his channel, his songs only are getting better

Some of these newer artists coming up are giving me hope for the direction of country music. There is some great stuff coming out if you look for it.

This song kicks ass. Great story telling with a great melody. Shame it was the acoustic version tho.

You need to listen to some more of his songs like cranes of potter, sorry for the wait and strawberry queen.

Reminds me of an Irish or Scottish melody. Especially with the quiver in his voice.

Hey fellas what about some Canadian blue grass? The Dead South, a damn good band that flies under the radar. "Blacklung. Our vinyl sessions". A live recording of the song. They talking about mining in WV.

I recommend a song that sounds similar musically and also tells a story is Never Leave Behind Your Guns by Bryan Martin. I had never heard of him and listened to it out of curiosity and now I find myself going back to it often.
