You should really get a CNC plasma or laser cutting table sponsored for you. You’d be able to make such amazing parts so easily.
Or use send cut send
Or just grab a mini plasma cutter from Miller/Lincoln, hell even harbor freight.
Arcdroid
I was going to post this comment. Especially since he already has so much in CAD.
i was literally like how doesn't he have a plasma or wazer .. it's criminal
Hindsight, maybe if you could integrate the factory 3rd brake light into your custom hood/roof/hatch scoop final design? It would add even more functionality within creative design.
Great idea, I 2nd this!
Chris, you really need to look into getting an arc-droid plasma cutter. They may even sponsor you! They're a fantastic little piece of kit. That wing upright would've been done in just a min or so! Super compact units as well.
If it’s a roof scoop that isn’t functional in any way, the proper term is a “Rice Scoop” 😂😂😝
Forgot where I saw it, but for those tracking dots lay strips of painters tape down and then put the dots on that. So, when you go to take them off, you just peel the tape.
Star creations did that on Leroy ;)
Definitely add a thin strip of black rubber seal on the roof scoop cut. That is a detail that I would find impressive
most of the builds even tho look good. they are built janky and fast. which is the life of a YT car scene unfortunately
Without it I’d think there could be some loud whistling.
You’re plexiglass is sagging in the middle too thin of plexiglass and you’re not gonna need some serious help for Sima or I hope you’re a couple months back in videos sorry coming off negative
Ain't negative bro. We wanna c Chris finish and we knw he has always had tight deadlines but it seems way behind on YouTue land. We all wanna c him finish in time.
After seeing the spoiler mounted, i think you should just forget about the duckbill
Yes Oscar is much needed for this Chanel we missed a lot a man can do anything with steel
B is for Bring Oscar back and let him work 9-5 ;)
@@carlbjacob7940 this right here is how I know the “better hours” thing is all BS. He owns his own shop and business…give him the keys to work when he wants and pay him accordingly… clearly he was sick of it for whatever reason…
A man of Oscars talents don't come cheap. The last couple videos of 3d scanning and such is challenging my attention span.
@@alexduran6742 it’s been a mess for awhile with all the random boat stuff now this plastic Lambo…
@@alexduran6742agreed... The pontoon idea didn't hold interest after Oscar left... Oscar popping in and out would be still fun because his level of skill is pretty damn good... Chris will get it all sorted .... But a part time Oscar or another person with that level of skill seems needed just to keep pace
Love reading comments from a bunch of nobodies who've never done anything remotely close to this complaining about how stuff is being done. You're quite literally free to watch another channel. You're not a hostage here.
Time to start washing your projects. Clean car clears the mind.
B is for Buying Oscar Back!!!
Oscar knew when to get out. Chris is unfortunately over his head and I'm hoping he powers through sober.
What happened Oscar left, I must have missed it
@@JB-mk4ry That's an odd thing to say
@@stephenbradley5805 oscar wanted a steady work schedule (i.e. 9-5) so he could spend more time with his family. At the same time try other industrial machines for metal works
Let it go man. Stop stressing chris with these kind of comments. move on.
Bring back oscar
***Spoiler Alert*** the Spoiler gets mounted
you can make a rubber seal that will fit in whete the cut is so it separates when u open it and closes airtight when closed
Delete the roof Scoop, it makes this car Looking silly.
Dude the amount of bots in the comments is insane 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Keep going bro
Would love a special guest appearance by Oscar!
Why would he do that.hes got his own crap to do he's gone get over it.
Leave Oscar alone. His wish was to leave Bis4B and live his own life.
I know you are more interested in aesthetics as opposed to function with your rear spoiler. That being said and because it is not adjustable, how do you know if it adds downforce rather than lift?
You need oscar back. Or at least someone else.
Oscar did a good job. 😭
I love Oscar but I also love seeing Chris back to actually doing stuff instead of just tasking Oscar to do everything. Good for Chris too to improve his metal work and welding, then Oscar can come back xD
Wait what happened to Oscar?
@@freddydabossdonbd5052he quit to have more predictable hours at a regular job.
@@freddydabossdonbd5052 He got a really good job so had to move on. They did a video on it if you want to details.
Hate to tell you, but the bracket for the wing looks ridiculous!!! You need Oscar back!!!😳
I agreed he needs oscar back, the spoiler bracket should have two plate with the bracket in the middle.
He's not coming back so get over it.
Wing standoffs may look cool with some sort of dimple die holes ,
Never commented before but you should keep the fans in the back visible and paint the fins a neon color for the cyberpunk theme
Could you consider making the roof scoop wider. To match the width of the body lines from the boot and along the roof? That might be cool!
a 2-birds-with-1-stone idea: Those nubs next to the taillights: Mount rods to the top of them, that support the wing from underneath. Thin adjustable rods like you usually see on front splitters. If you add two to each nub, in a v-shape, that will also triangulate the wing for increased stability.
To minimise the air leakage on the scoop, you could add an inner lip on the upper section that once the hatch is down, covers the gap from the inside.
Are you 100% sure the rear end frame isn't tweeked? Because that gap is nasty of the rear right quarter
In support of getting Oscar back -------->
B is for bad time management
SuperFastMatt has a really good video on 3D scanning, he has these little 3D printed 10 sided dice looking things with permanent dots on them and they provide different shaped objects you can reuse instead of putting dots on everything all the time. His videos are also really funny and he makes cool shit.
The roof scoop is all wrong! I think you need to Google Diablo Jota... the dual scoops are more Lamborghini. The one you have looks like a pep boys glue on. Yuck!
Looks like a J.C. Whitney catalog ordered scoop
It looks similar to the sterrato tho
Seems time sould have been saved by reprinting piece of the spackle disaster. I could be wrong.
Skip the roofscoop because it doesn’t make sense
Does the roof scoop and the spoilers look cheap adons ? Like a guy slapping cheap stuff from a universal catalog on ? I don’t know, but anyway amazing job done on the body kit
I know you reqched out to Tofo, but you should have reached out to Ding Dong Drift and Ryan from Crucible Coachworks
This video doesn't feel right. Missing something. Dont know maybe its like youve been on this car for more than a year with minimal progress. And an hour long video about a roof scoop is pretty uneventful.
2 things. Use flower and coat the body to get a 3d scan. 2nd thing. Use weather strips like they do for doors to keep the air in the roof air duct from “leaking”. I hope this helps✌️
@bisforbuild use the original wing brackets as sandwich plates for the bottom of the wing. Bolt through the top gooseneck to the original underneath bracket.
Please redo the piece with spackle on it, it's just gonna come off when you try to make the plug.
B is for bring back Oscar!
Please get the surface that you're working on cleaned; it's so dusty.
Should have washed the spackle off that part
Rubber seal groove in the cut of the roof scoop so it seals against water when closed.
Bring back Oscar just cause we miss his work!
He's not coming back he left for a reason. So get over it.
@@jerrywilcox9890 it’s ok bro I see you on all these comments, we all miss him admit it lol
@microchrist6122 I don't give a crap what you see lol.doesnt bother me any.
@jerrywilcox9890 troll much? If you don't care that's cool. Some of us appreciated his work on the builds and would love to see him back. You don't have to be a dick considering we weren't asking YOU & YOU ain't got shit to do with it... so crawl back in your hole and stfu. Please & thank you
I really hate how you put the brackets for the wing on the outside.
What about a roof box converted to a roof scoop so acts as 2 things 😂 don’t know why I had the idea
It would be cool to see them Build a car with enough time for sema. Why always the rush? Just to see what they can do with time..
You clearly have no clue how Sema works.
@@jerrywilcox9890what in my comment would leave you to believe that?
@petergunz3353 lol he can't build a car till he gets the green like from the company that the cars going to be in the booth lol.they set the time frame not him lol.
@petergunz3353 so clearly you have no clue or you wouldn't of made the stupid comment lol.
@petergunz3353 you just don't build a car you have to be invited to go.
Time for an Arcdroid or some other compact CNC plasma!
On the back run a full led strip light across where the bumper kicks out
We need a SEMA shirt that acknowledges the tradition of having some crazy ambitious plan that gets started way too late, you're behind the whole time, and then you barely finish it 😂
You start when you get a spot in a booth.they do tell ya till last minute.its how it works.its not his say when it's started.learn how Sema works.
For the rear bumper, I wouldn’t modify the deck lid anymore. You are so going to run out of time chasing these details. Maybe just cutting off the part of the bumper that is over flush and Also will it be very visible when the duckbill spoiler is there?
B is for Being able to watch football and BIFB at the same time😂
With the football sound on.
Can’t not watch the Bama UGA game
Watching my beloved twins getting shelled
You guys would get so much more done with a properly setup shop. Large work bench(es), fab table(s), large tool boxes etc. organizing nightmare has to slow production
Vamp-orghini - Don't park that beast in the sunlight!!!! 🤣
The PLA panels are molds for Carbon.
The progress is looking amazing! Please call Oscar or bring in someone else. This build is too good to be rushed/not completely finished for SEMA!!
Oscar, Oscar,Oscar hell yeah but I was enjoying watching your fabricated parts like the beginning again .
Oscar is urgently needed 🚨🚨🚨
What happened to him?
No he's not.
@@_unkown404rror_9he left got a job with less hours to be home more.hes been gone where have you been lol.
Chris losing grip . Lost his girl. Lost his main guy
Is the wing purely aesthetic? Because at high speed if it's meant to provide traction these tiny horizontal screws will not be enough.
Wish you'd mimic the P51 Mustang belly scoop. That would be a cool look.
Looks so cheap. cheap broke build
Have to fog shiny, there ways on UA-cam for methods to make a powder base to fog shiny stuff
When oscar left, i feel the progress speed has slowed down so much.
We need oscar back or someone else
Why focus in the roofvent and not getting all the panels done first?
Because he's doing it not you .
Yeah 3D prints especially PLA does not do well in sunlight.
This thing is going to look so crazy. Can’t wait for SEMA
Soak the spackle panel in water. Refinish like the other side.
I would’ve made a naca duct on the roof for function and asthetic
Give it a spoiler similair to a 1991MR2 🏎️
I'd really love to see the mr2 style roof scoop. The big rounded triangle over the driver
No roofscope
The metal support should be under the wing, not above. The downforce will rip the bolts through the spoiler..
If only someone in the comments had warned you about how easily PLA warps in the sun.......
You should use the light to fix the bumper issue
In your final 3d print
Noice
I always look forward to your videos!
maybe slow down the 3d software clips or issue an epilepsy trigger warning..with those super contrasty colours at mach 11 speed...its rough on the eyeballs
Not a fan of adding stuff, just to add it. This car is too bad ass not to have stuff functional !!! Engine view plexi looks wrong. Louvers have a curf. Spoiler mounting system seems like an afterthought, needs more seemless integration.
Where will the leather straps go?
#BringBackOscar
That wing mount is stupid. If you're going to have an ugly swan neck, at least make sure the mounts are 100% plumb and Square, otherwise what's the point of the most aerodynamic wing application?
Rear valance options:
1. Leave it. It actually plays into the Cyberpunk look.
2. 3D print small cones to fade it into the upper deck. If you use black ASA or ABS, you wouldn't even need to fiberglass.
3. Same fade bits as #2, but do the fiberglass process you are doing for all the other printed panels.
Ok. Disregard all the crap suggestions. One really good piece of advice. I'm getting so triggered. Fix the car!!!!!! Don't revamp. Don't fantasize. Don't try to imagine what could be!!!!!!! Fix the damn car! Then maybe mod it!
use weld in nutserts to mount the wing. You can bond them in place and they will be almost flush. they have these through Zoro Round Weld Nut, 5/16"-18, Steel, 5/8 in Lg, 8 PK
I’m loving the videos as always. This is going to look awesome. Just 1 request….. can you please wash the car, it’s triggering me 😉. Looking forward to seeing it at Sema.
You should really try to do a collab with Tufu Autoworks to get the molds and pieces made for the body kit. He would be a great help to get this car done for Sema.
PETG-CF or ABS-GF ... large panels in PLA is just silly
Just the heat from the epoxy of the mould curing can be enough to warp normal PLA
I love the channel, but really? Most of us enthusiasts would love to see a revival, then maybe a change. Most of your builds are yours, but this needs to be brought back before modification. Dont freaking do it! It will cost you! Im not alone in my opinion. Me ans a large group watch your channel religiously. We all agree that you are making a huge mistake. Build it back first. Then build it better. Not every car is better as a MAD MAX machine
That plexiglass is still looking horrible. It's also extemely flimsy and flexes even under very light pressure. Please change it for something rigid and with some curvature.
Just a quick food for thought comment here. You mentioned that if this tail light fits then you throw it in the trash and print the real one. There are lots of companies out there that actually do recycling for 3D print stuff. I remember seeing one company that would actually send you a spool back after you had sent in x amount of recyclable stuff. With as much stuff as you print for trials, that would definitely be something worth looking into.
Build the inside edges of the railings out a little more so they stick out the same amount as the top of those two thin bumper pieces. 3D print a rectangular piece to go between the tail lights that will rest on the two bumper pieces and illuminate it so you have a light bar that goes across the entire back of the car. Once you have the duck bill spoiler built and attached will give the light a built in, recessed look.
I think eBay Lambo hinges are higher quality than the actual Lambo ones!!!! Watching this series, and other UA-camr rebuild videos, I'm appalled at how cheap things look under the body panels of cars that ask more than a quarter million dollars on their sticker price! My Kia Carnival is built better than that thing!!!!
LOVE the rear wing. LOVE the rear duckbill idea. LOVE the flat tailight setup. the ass end of this car is going to look SIIIIICK
Bro I got the roof intake but hear me out..... First of it's theory. Would go with the cyberpunk theme. Full vent above windshield, renegade lights advice but it would vent int the cabin bay and run thru the back.
I've been here and followed you since the twin turbo mustang build in the yard. watched every episode. I hope your ok man. I know you wouldn't tell us. But Oscar's gone, you and the lady are no longer together. Thank God the cancer is gone also but I hope your doing good dude.
You should reach out to Mike Essa re the mounting of the rear wing, they had to mount it to the lower chassis rail as the upper supports were collapsing under the pressure, appreciate you’ve probably already considered this but thought it worth flagging as dont want to see all your hard work explode at 200mph 😂
A great way to finish 3d prints is to paint then with UV resin from one of those style printers. Shine them from all sides with a UV flashlight. They'll need a wipe down with isopropyl and to be sanded smooth before finishing with filler primer and glazing putty. But it's a great way to at strength and a solid surface area for finishing. Cosplay and model makers have been using that technique for a few years now to great success. Haven't seen it on car parts, but it would save a lot of time to not have to make molds, and printing at super high resolution
@27:43 perhaps have those "bumperstays" flow all the way into the rear wing/spoiler supports (mounting arms?) and make them the same width as the "bumperstays"?
Don't know if this has been mentioned, but spackle is water based and as you found out heat sensitive. I'd recommend sanding primer off and soaking the panel in a tub of water. which should allow you to scape off the spackle. Then you could use real auto body filler on it. I suspect that even with the primer on the panel as is, that the heat and moisture from the molding compound will bubble and ruin the mold. Just a thought. Looking forward to another awesome build!
Hey Guys, I think the tail lights should stay just like that without a glass over. Just the LEDs and a tiny glass just in that opening for the LEDs. What do you think Chris, Kyle?
I’m so confused, he keeps saying the body panels are fiberglass, I thought mercialigos had carbon body’s.
