    I love 494 because it’s not super soft and doesn’t crumble like others I’ve experienced! Comes out of the clamshell perfectly and clean, even great as snapbars! Consistency was the same, excellent quality with all 10 thousand melts sold! I use 10% FO and cure for 10-14 days and have amazing HT and CT!

    Thank you Erica for testing the waxes
    I'm blending TW30 with CS tart wax.
    I'm getting good results.At times I'll add a very small amount of Soy Bliss which like high temp but I keep the temp no higher than 190 . Soy Bliss seems to give it an extra boost.
    I only do my wax melts in small hatches
    Thank you

    I use a lot of coconut wax in my business and find that it needs almost a full 2 min stir time. I add some additional beeswax and a small portion of soy to enrich the throw bot hot and cold. I also heat to 220 add fragrance at 180-185 and pour at 160. I use tw30 for melts and heat to 190 add fragrance at 185 and pot at 155-165, I found lower temperature allows for a better release from the mold idk why may be me. Hope it helps in your crafting I also do 10% load in candles and 14% in melts

    Thank you for sharing all your information. It's been very helpful starting out with my new wax melt business.
    I've been tested since August. I've tried 7 different waxes. TW-30 was one, and C-55. I have been testing with electric warmer with bulbs and warmers. I also look as how it pops out. I tried GW-494 which was also a great wax with only a 7 day cure. I also do look at how it comes out of warmer.

    I have tried & tested all 3 I always go back to the TW 30 and I do use the BW-921 (which was my first tart wax ) for a back up now if necessary, I just can’t seem to get the coconut to a point that I am comfortable with , but having 2 that I really like a lot is definitely a good thing, they both performed well and sell well with good feedback for me , I did give out samples of the coconut tart wax (just to make sure it wasn’t me lol) and it just wasn’t a hit . I have never gotten no more than 6-7 hours out of any wax melt that I've ever used including those from Scentsy. I change the wax melt in the warmer after 6-7 hours of use. I would turn them all on (I have maybe 7-8 of them), leave the house, come back a few hours later and I can already tell the fragrance is on its way out.

    I just finished a slab TW30. It's nice. I tried BW921, but it is too soft. I could have blended it with a harder wax, but I want to use only one wax . I just received C-55 and will be testing tonight. I heard this wax is the best one for melts and tarts.

      Same. I just got my slab yesterday. I already used it😊. I tried 10%, however, the CT is not what I was hoping for; maybe curing will help improve the CT. I have to say, I love the milky white appearance. Let us know how your testing goes.

      @@babyg2cc2 I finally made some wax melts using C55. You are right.....the CT isn't that strong. Very nice video, thank you and love all your videos. I have just purchased Pro-blend 650 after a review on you tube. I was torn which to get for wax melts and BW921 was almost chosen but wanted to try another company though I love Candlescience. I am new in learning stage but was there a reason not to use Problend 650 in your testing? I used a tiny heart silicone mold for my first test and only used 6% FO, 3 days ago and they smell nice so far. I wanted to stay low for first testing. Should they be covered after I take them out of the mold to keep cold throw while curing? Thanks

    I know you don't want to share your wax blend but I was wanting to add beeswax to my soy wax to make wax melts harder. I have tried 10% but I'm still getting soft melts. I've read that some people have used 1 part beeswax to 3 parts soy wax. Do you think 25% is too much? Also, do you add beeswax to your candles?

    • @christeef6840
      @christeef6840 2 роки тому

      Donna what kind of soy wax are you using? If it's intended for tarts it should be plenty firm enough on its own. If it isn't intended for tarts specifically - you really shouldn't be using it. Beeswax can be used, but if you're needing to use it at 25% you should rethink your wax. Also keep in mind beeswax is very expensive and using it in tarts will hurt your bottom line. Also - if you use beeswax you won't sell any wax melts to people who are vegan and that's a lot more people nowadays so something else to think about.

    • @jetskee70
      @jetskee70 2 роки тому

      @@christeef6840 I first tried BW-923 which is a tart wax but melts were really soft. I've used both 464 & C3 which I mixed each with beeswax but melts were still soft even at 11%, 12% & 13% beeswax. I've also used No. 7 (formerly Soy Bliss) with no beeswax added but they came out soft. I don't like how soft my melts are because they just make a big mess. I'm looking for that snap when breaking them apart. I'm not concerned with using beeswax for cost or vegan factors. It's just a hobby right now & I'm testing for if I ever want to make it into a business. Do you make wax melts? If so, what type of wax do you use & do they come out soft?

    • @christeef6840
      @christeef6840 2 роки тому +1

      @@jetskee70 I have run a successful candle business for years and so have made melts for a very long time and have tried many waxes over the years. I have heard from many people that 923 can be on the softer side because it has coconut wax in it. Adding paraffin would fix that. I would never use 464 or C3 - they are not intended for tarts even if you add a hardner. They're container waxes and just too soft. 494 is made by the same company as 464 and is specifically for melts. It's firm and has very good ratings so I'd try that. :)
