This episode is a fascinating conversation about self-worth, perspective, and the power of saying no.
Dr. Julie Smith is a highly regarded clinical psychologist known for her compassionate approach to mental health care and expertise in cognitive-behavioural therapy.
With over two decades of experience, she has positively impacted the lives of countless individuals by helping them navigate the complexities of their emotional well-being.
In this episode, Dr Julie discusses how our choices today can lead to a better tomorrow, finding merit in balance throughout life, and focusing on what matters to us individuals. She explores how self worth is not based on what others think, but what we truly value.
Having worked with some of the most successful people, Dr Julie explains how many of these individuals have had some of the deepest struggles. She unravels our ‘unmet needs’ with Jake and Damian: love, belonging, and safety - and how in adulthood we can reflect on these to give perspective on day-to-day life.

Julie you have the rare knack of explaining complex issues in a very simplistic way. Do more of this stuff! Please continue to give people the tools on ftv platforms. Those who can afford it will buy the product/book for further insight. But those who are unable to purchase the product/book will still have an amazing takeaway - such as the tips about journalling and keeping a diary to increase awareness of cycles. Thank you so much for sharing, and thank you Jake and team for having non- celeb yet high performing guests on your podcast. Fantastic episode 🥰 🙏

I don’t have this tool to respect myself no matter what … but knew about! The education I grew up with was a selfish thing to do that , respect was given from others if I was good enough… just found this video Thank you 💕

It's bringing the unconscious to the conscious mind. You cannot change what's in the unconscious mind (since you're doing it without knowing). You can only change what your conscious about.

Hello Dr Julie. Would you mind if I share your videos, please? I know it always gives that option, but is sharing okay with you? I love, love, love your short about physical health and mental health-the bouquet of flowers, the attention, the balloons…v. the aloneness and the darker background in the video.

She probably has a lot of great information, but I think she was being too general and vague here. Maybe as a way to just direct us to the book.

The sheer arrogance of naming your channel 'High Performance' and then (even though they birthed the damn language) barely being able to understand said hosts. Simply stunning. Also, why are these always pairs?
