I am a training psycholigist and i absolutely loved how Dr Chatterjee's terminology where he says the lady he speaks about has learned to " accept" less from when she was a child. This is a game changer just using that word " accepting" becUse people always say that we 'attract' people who do this and that when as a matter of a fact we do not attract( that makes it all out fault) we have no control over who walks in our lives but we chose who we accept to keep in our lives. Thank you for the clarity

I discovered that UA-cam was more than just music and silly videos a little while before lockdown and videos like yours were of enormous help when our world was turned upside down AND inside out overnight. I believe happiness is just one part of the journey, and though appreciating relationships with others is ubergratifying, I agree that we need to enjoy getting to know ourselves too. I love the 'learning not to crunch on the polo mint' parallelism. Thank you both so very much.

Been following you Dr Rangan since watching doctor in the house all those years ago on C4. I saw someone so compelled to help people by getting to the root cause of the issue, rather than medicate the symptoms. You’ve mentioned before how people can make positive changes after being given instruction by their doctors because of a health issue, only to go back to old ways say 3 months later. I’ve been that person, though having these podcast/UA-cam sessions in my life, is like having a doctor keep reminding me and coaching me to stay on course, I’ve also been able to help family and colleagues at work, particularly as a line manager. Just wanting to say thank you for all you do, you have such a positive impact 👍🏻

Writing by hand is more effective for every kind of writing (when physically possible) because you make specific bodily movements for each word. It inscribed the information both physically and mentally, and as Bessel Van Der Kölk and Gabor Maté point out, the body is the source of emotion and its well for stored emotions.

They talk as if they still went out and on holiday, etc during the plandemic. And as if they ignore what government said we should do. Yet peopple out there in the real worldgot ostracised if they dared to express these views during the plandemic. The mass of people really should not listen to wankers that tell you not to do this, not to do that, etc. Particularly when some of those saame wankers go and do what they tell everyone else not to do, themselves. Eg: Boris Johnson and Partygate

I started listening to the bitesize version ep 380 about being your own therapist. I think Julie is simply repackaging mindfulness and getting it wrong. She said its about learning to choose which thoughts you let in. That reduces mindfulness to yet another self development method. Which undermines its spiritual essence and its subtlety. I found her like so many on the latest gravy train, with absolutely nothing original to offer, e.g she suggests keeping a journal. Wow groundbreaking advice.

Can't you just tell the ones you love that something needs to go o or get help. I've ran across some of the dialectic stuff, you can really really mess someone's mind up, when someone knows that they are all being treated as a two year old. If rather get it over with and be told so I can move on,. I'd like to talk to a professional for sure but I don't want to see people go through the play role dialectic stuff because that can really cause suicide.
