    It's very smart: 20 vol + dye lifts even darker roots and is almost non-damaging, especially if you only apply it there. Hair will remain super healthy with Henna applications in between. I'm lightening my hair with a high lift dye and plan on doing Henna sometime in the near future to achieve a vibrant orange

    Your henna videos are what first inspired me to go henna! The copper is a gorgeous look with your skin tone. I have a bit deeper complexion so I find myself more drawn towards burgundy henna mixes nowadays. It’s so fun to just experiment with recipes for henna! :) also, your personality and voice are so soothing and uplifting!

    Awesome info. I have been wanting to go red for so long but have been terrified to do it. I love the idea of henna, I wasn't even considering henna, so thank you for opening my eyes to it and how it works. In excited for the more natural way of coloring and glad to hear it lasts!

    Wow, I'm like the opposite of you, I love the yellowish tint on the skin after the first wash and how vibrant it looks at first, also I do a completely random henna touch up every time, no system whatsoever. My hair has gotten a bit too dark to my liking, more like auburn, but I feel like it suits this time of the year, so I'm going to leave it be till next spring.

    I love your hair! I've been trying to get the same color so doing a lot of research. I have medium ash brown hair (actually used 7a dark blonde) I'm wondering how to dye it a few shades lighter as ive heard putting colour on colour won't lighten it. So confused! Please help!

    • @laurisii

      Bleach shampoo. It's very gentle and will lighten the colour. Mix Bleach powder, 10 volumes peroxide, shampoo and a little bit of olive oil or coconut oil too (or both!) Apply it with damp hair. It's very easy to apply beacause it's shampoo and will leather. Then for touching up the roots, what I do is I put oxygen water on a spray bottle an spray It just in the roots. You let It on there 4-5 hours and then wash your hair. It will lighten the hair and it's less damaging than hair dye (my hair is not too dark, it's a level 6 so It works for me, I only need to do It twice and my hair is light enough) Hope It helps!💖

    I use your henna recipe and works very well, I love the color result. One thing I didn't understand well for the video : you apply henna to all of your hair everytime you do your roots with dye? Or only every 6 month? I don't want the henna to darken the color I have now on my lengths

    • @kamilajedrzejewska3700
      @kamilajedrzejewska3700 4 роки тому +1

      You can always just put henna on the roots and do the henna gloss on the rest of the hair (will revive the colour instead of darkening it). And also be careful with putting henna on dyed hair- what she doesn't mention is that if you have fresh chemical dye on your hair and put henna over it, you can get green hair. :P

    • @CourtneyVioletta
      @CourtneyVioletta  5 років тому +5

      Ugh I feel you!! I used to be a hair dye addict, which is why I switched to henna. But either way, even if you have dark hair, you can still add henna to your hair to get a beautiful red tone! It won’t be copper, but it will still be a red color and in the sun especially it’ll look firey! I can imagine it might take a few applications to get a very noticeable red, but it’s possible ! ☺️ indefinitely recommend doing that to help combat those bleaching urges I’m sure you have (cause I still get them too)

    • @faithphoenix3999

      @@CourtneyVioletta actually, I think I have kicked the habit for good this time 😊 I have used true semi permanent (think like manic panic) twice in the last 5 months or so. My natural hair colour is borderline jet black (think a very, very dark ashy brown) so I think even getting a tint with henna would be a struggle...I'm just not sure whether I think henna is worth it, to be honest.
      Then there is always the fear of something going wrong because henna is very unfamiliar territory to me.

      Valerie Williams ok so I did it last night my hair was getting pretty dark from the repeated lush henna I had an 1” of grow out with natural blonde hair. This recipe made my roots super light strawberry blonde and lightened the precious henna sections, there is a visible line. If I were to do it again I would work on trying to lighten before using this recipe over the top. Good luck!

  • @TracyD2

    I love hennasooq. I use the red raj and indigo with amla and aloe powder. I go back and forth with a 50/50 mix henna/indigo and a 25/75. I have gray temples and some gray peppered roots on naturally dark brown hair. I use the Moroccan henna on my daughter her hair is lighter than mine. I let the red raj dye release for 3 hours and I put it on my hair for 3 and its maximum dye. Truthfully I cringe when people tell you to sleep in it for 12 hours. Maybe it’s easier than committing half a day having henna in your hair. I love your hair color. It’s beautiful. Mystical and metaphysical beliefs are tomorrows science. I laugh when people think is airy fairy woo woo. Thank you.

      lol no I’m an eye baller! Go with ratios though! I usually use 50% cassia to 50% henna (generally about 50 grams of each, which is always WAY too much product in the end) maybe about 4 TBSPs of Amla powder and 1/3 Cup of Aloe Vera?? I’m just assuming! But that should be about right 🙂

    Hi! I just had a few questions that I'm hoping you would be able to answer, since I've been looking into dying my hair ginger for a while. So if I'm starting out with my natural light brown hair, should I use the wella products with developer and go over all my whole head with it to dye it, and then once it starts fading go over it with the henna, Or is there another method to that?

    • @CourtneyVioletta
      @CourtneyVioletta  5 років тому

      That’s what I did the veryyyyy first time I went red (and then used henna after). It’s a great way to at least see what the results will look like before making the huge commitment to to henna. Make sure you use 100% pure henna as well to avoid any reactions with dye!

      QueenAlakai sorry if I’m late!! Light mountain henna is fantastic! It’s 100% pure. I actually bleached mine lighter (I had the same ombré effect Courtney did with the light previously bleached ends and faker darker looking red up top). I bleached my hair, rehennaed with light red and red mixed twice (which went traffic cone orange which it WILL do over straight platinum/yellow hair) as a base then put the wells tango in 8rg on top. It helped it become a natural light medium red and added back the brownish copper tones my orange hair was missing. As my roots grow in (I wait till about an inch or 2) I dye it with the wella then apply my henna mix. The color is slightly different but once it’s been hennaed I don’t touch it again. With your hair you can dye it and then straight apply if you’d like :) henna goes over the color under it so if your hair goes bright with the wella dye, it’ll react to that brighter color. If you want it more muted apply over the faded dye hair is my suggestion and then keep doing that for the roots!

    do you find that red washes out in the shower over time? I've noticed with any chemical or even semi-permanent dyes, every time I wash out my hair, orange comes out. Does this happen with henna too, after a few initial washes?

    • @kamilajedrzejewska3700
      @kamilajedrzejewska3700 4 роки тому +1

      That depends on how you prepare your hair for henna, and what quality of henna you use. If the hair is prepred properly, stripped of the silicones and minerals that build up and on that henna that matured for a couple of hours, the hair colour shouldn't wash out. I did henna a few times and the colour stays nice and vibrant.
