- Want roman shades that have a specific, custom look? I used these IKEA Ringblomma roman shades and gave them a fun glow up with this beautiful fabric from Tonic Living. Best part - they're no sew curtains!
If you're ready for a fun and simple IKEA hack that anyone can do, this easy DIY project is for you!
P.S. The shades are IKEA's RINGBLOMMA.
Love the idea. Hilarious ending but hopefully you found a place for them :)
I love the ending! 😂
It helps me get over my mental block of “what if it doesn’t work out?” So what, if it doesn’t work out, try something else!
So True! ❤ I can relate (:
Some of us not in position to waste money though
@@diplomasaurus4232yeah… this economy giving me anxiety 😥
You made me laugh out loud, at the end..." I used curtains instead " - all that work, but kudos for going with what the room needed 👏👏👏👏👏👏
It helps to laugh at all the changes I tend to make because I’m so indecisive😂 thank you for laughing with me!
@@champagnechaos Not indecisive but rather open to the possibilities!
@@JillofAllTrades2 I love that perspective!!♥️
Actually hot glue in the sun will become brittle rather quickly. When gluing to fabric you should always use a fabric glue. There is one that is iron activated and is super strong, washable and not affected by sunlight.
Growing up, we would use the tape to hem our pants.
Super helpful. Thank you!!!!!
@@sunrae7680Lol - us too - it was in the 1970's with bell bottoms!
That ending is something I would do!! As a result of that I've subscribed.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one😂 thank you!!
They would make great darkening shades for winter or the bedroom
Totally! That’s the nice thing about adding the thicker fabric, it blocks out more light!
Haha. I realized that all the work I did doesn’t work so I did something else. Love it.
Your videos just spark joy in me idk why but I follow and I'm like ohmg I can do it too ...and look it's not so hard and opens up ideas abt being creative abt decor.
You just made my year with this comment, thank you so much!! I honestly didn’t know I could do any of this stuff a couple years ago, then spray paint changed my mind haha… if I can do this stuff, anyone can! This is the best thing ever to hear that it sparks joy for you♥️♥️
🤣🤣 You did great! Love the transparency of the use of traditional curtains instead!
Trial & error I love that you went with your idea and went with your idea even if you decided it didn't fit. I love the curtain they look beautiful. On I'm going to steel the Roman shade hack from you for my son's room. Thank you ☺️
I bought this amazing pieces of blinds in my country, so simple yet easy to applies.
Great creative idea.
I’m so glad you like them too! They’re a great shade!
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭Was not expecting the ending. love your honesty
Haha! What can I say - it was a quick no from me!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ".... folded it up set it up and then realised it doesn't go with the dining room and used curtains instead"!!!!
After ALLLL THAT!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Story of my life😂
That’s funny 😂 so me
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? They sure are easily customizable. I'm impressed with how you did that. Also like the curtains!
Great idea! Love the curtains! ☺️🥳😎💌
The curtains look beautiful.
Oh..a twist at the end. The best kind of story.
I'm so glad I watched this, I'm really needing something for my kitchen, my cats have been jerks, and broke the mini blinds, as cats do. I want them to be able to hang out in the window still, but I'm really tired of knowing people can look in.
I saw the same Roman blinds on Ikea's website, I like that they seem easy to raise and lower, but hate the lack of options. I want a fun pop of color in there! Or a pattern! Literally ANYTHING at this point! Sewing my own covers is feasible, but annoying. SO AFTER ALL OF THAT, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS! I can start maybe game planning now!
Oh this is awesome! I'm so glad that this has been helpful! Cats can definitely be small jerks to window coverings. Fingers crossed this option makes your home feel just like you!
I’ve been looking for an alternative to expensive window treatments and this is it! I’m so doing this. Thank you!
Oh that's funny - and so reminiscent of many of my DIY attempts = end up going back to the tried and true reliable standard. And yes, the curtains are perfect.
Lol.. loved your first idea and really loved your back up plan
😂😂 thank you!!!
The ending - story of my life 😂😂
Here you go again showin off that genius thought process and brilliant imagination!
Girl….. I’m crying laughing. You had me lmbo
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE ENDING 😂🤣😂😎👍
Story of my life, always changing my mind😂
Wasn’t expecting that ending but was so funny 😂😅👌🏻❤
I love the surprise ending!
Thanks for the DIY too.
Haha! Got to tell the whole truth!
Lol thank you for the hysterical ending....ughhh this has happened to me....( usually $500 later) eeek
I’m glad I’m not the only one! I don’t even want to know how much money I’ve lost over the years haha
@@champagnechaos No way you can lose when you’re opening up to life and its possibilities. It’s all a part of learning to navigate life with a mind that can envision all the “What ifs ….”
This might be the only DIY home video that is something I never thought of. I was quoted 3k for roller shades two weeks ago and I might try this project instead
Do it! It feels so custom. And 3k for any sort of window treatment makes me want to cry.
Love it and loved the ending that is exactly what I’m like I spend days painting a dining table or and chair then decided it didn’t match and gave it away
YESSSSS!! Sometimes you just don't love it as much as you expected!
Thank you thank you thank you finallllllyyyy something that looks athletically pleasing
thnx for the laugh (the end cracked me up)

And so sad you're not going to use them cuz they're adorably cute and you did an awesome job on them and you didn't have to put a needle to it once I love that I'm fixing to have to completely furnish two homes and I got to tell you I want to use this DIY if I can do it as a example for my bedroom I would love to put these in my room so that's going to be neat thank you so much you could even do regular side and then do black curtains with these and they would still look good that's cool you know put the blackout on the shades I think it'd be awesome thank you so much and God bless this is really cool for you to share this
They were so nice though! I still want to try what you did.
