@@t_separator I feel like the pickups matter quite a bit with this amp because of the EQ curve. The amp has tons of lows, so you need a brighter pickup. Normally I really dislike Fishman pickups because I like brighter amps, but on the Diezel I think they sounded much better. EMG's are quite flat compared to the Fishman modern pickups that have a super bright high end, so I didn't like the EMG pickups as much. Pretty interesting demo overall I thought.
Diezel is my bucket list amp. I wanted the V4 but realistically, I think this V2 might be where I am leaning. My buddy has had both and kept the V2 because he said, it does all the same tones in a two channel setup. When I played it, I was floored.
I’m really happy you demoed a Diezel. I Hope you have some more Diezel amps on your channel in the future because there is definitely a lack of Diezel content on UA-cam.

I'm about to watch the vid. I'd just like to comment I never got along with my VH2 without an eq in the loop...BUT...I never used a Diezel cab with it. After selling it I bought a D-moll....BLOWN..AWAY. Add in the Diezel 4x12...and even better! I had a Mesa 4x12 with v30s..but man the Diezel cab was just a perfect match. I have lots of amps Mesa, Engls, Friedman, 5150, but Diezel is my favorite by far.

I have a VH2. It’s a seriously high quality amp but channel 2 is not quite the same as the VH4 channel 3. It’s close but not exact which I was slightly disappointed with as I thought it was exactly the same channel. The refined/modern voicing that Diezel had added to the channel makes it seem a little more grainy/looser (difficult to describe) to me compared to a VH4. You can hear/feel it when you play in drop D and play power chords higher up the fret board. Nothing wrong with the amp itself as it’s my preference as it’s an absolutely amazing amp but I want to upgrade to the VH4 when I have the chance (and money lol). Great demo btw and I always enjoy watching your channels!! 😊

Great playing sounds awesome! Loved hearing Peter diezels idealogy on the diezel sound you spoke of. & then actually hearing it! Been looking at a KSR amp and now this may of entered or took the lead on what to add to my stable!
The vh2 is the only diesel I personally like, I got to try most of their stuff at a shop and obviously didn’t have time to really dig into them but bare bones without being able to try boosts and stuff none of them really jumped out to me other than this guy it’s a beast, soldano and a 5150 had a baby I want one wish it wasnt 3000$, my thing has always been that fortunately I am financially able to afford it but I just can never pull the trigger on boutique stuff knowing the amazing tones I can get for so cheap out of other stuff, like yes it’s an insane head but does it do something magical that a 900$ 5150 won’t do certainly not, I’ll just never be a boujie gear guy

I recently sold my VH-2 in favour of a VHT Pittbull Ultralead but the Diezel is a great amp, mine had KT77s but listening to your demo I don't think there's much difference between those and the EL34s as you say. Diezel is one of my favorite amps. You're right, they have their own sound that isn't like anything else. Even the Helix model is so unique that I keep turning to that for a lot of my heavy stuff!

@@SonicDriveStudio weird enough, the VH4 started breaking down at some point. Faulty transformer was the cause, not fuses. Very unusual but it happens. Never had any issue with the Herbert..huge monster of an 180 watt poweramp, bat shit crazy 🤣
Had it, sent it back one week after. The CH2 is a pain in the *** to dial in, I never got the sound I had in mind BUT CH1 is the best clean channel I ever played on. Now I'm very happy with my RVIII :)
@@SonicDriveStudio If I remember correctly it sounded very thin and I remember the distortion being "muddy", the note separation was bad imo and not what I expected from a 1800 euros amplifier. Peter and Peter seemed very happy in their presentation video, joking about "it sounds good even at restroom volume", maybe I had a bad copy but it was not the case in my bedroom. It can do metal for sure with a good OD/Booster in front but I expected it to sound good on it's own... Another big issue I had : I bought it with the 2x12 RL Diezel cab and the result was strange : when I stood 2/3 meters away from the cab using the VH2, standing right in front of it and facing it, I was loosing all the low/low-mid frequencies and the sound became horrible (sorry I don't know how to describe it better). This never happened again using any other amp on the same cabinet after.
@@archery171093 maybe it came from the tubes ..had kt77and feel exactly what you describe...changed to 6L6 with7025 in V1 and the changing is incredible ...not the same amp...lot more articulation and clarity , less overtones of course but it tempered my wish to lean toward the VH4

Ah, I did not know the VH2 was channels 1 and 2 of the VH4! A comparison would still be interesting, but since the Synergy module is based around channels 3 and 4, I wouldn't expect them to sound very much alike.

I cannot come to grips with my vh2. It just seems anemic compared to my mesa amps. It SOUNDS great, just super weak. Any help or tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated.
I had to sell my VH2 when I moved...I deeply regret, awesome amp all the sounds are good, the master volume is the best I experienced on a 100W amp, built like a tank.
@@SonicDriveStudio the tonal caracteristics remain quite the same at low volume of course without the physical sensation of full volume, but what was the most impressive with this master volume is the fact that it is really progressive, so this 100w amp definitely can be a bedroom amp. A lot of amp are quite ON/OFF with the master volume, you turn from 0 to 1 and the amp screams (mesa mark5/25 for instance)
I tried this amp recently, had the 6l6 version. Ended up sending it back to the store for a refund. Didn't like the character of the distortion in channel 2. The note attack isn't as sharp and defined as a rectifier. Sounds more like a fuzz/rat pedal than a tube distortion channel. Sorry but not my thing. Beautiful construction and clean channel though.

I had the pleasure of trying out the Diezel Herbert and the sound was huge. Of course it was because that amp has 180 ridiculous watts!

I love how tight and focused the Diezel is.
Those notes on the 8 string were super defined and had really good separation with the multiple notes being run out

You would LOVE an mk1 or mk2 Herbert! Think of it as Diezel’s version of a Recfifier with their own voicing

I tried this amp recently, had the 6l6 version. Ended up sending it back to the store for a refund. Didn't like the character of the distortion in channel 2. The note attack isn't as sharp and defined as a rectifier. Sounds more like a fuzz/rat pedal than a tube distortion channel. Sorry but not my thing. Beautiful construction and clean channel though.

@@SonicDriveStudio Thanks! I been with the 412 MRBW GNR M25 MMMC, due to a broad mic selection, so guess plenty of sound variations. What´s the main difference between these two packs? And sorry I am hijacking your youtube channel for this .......... but got some free time today, and would like to add another IR pack to my existing ones.

Sorry if you talked about this in different videos, but how did you like the VH4 models/captures in the QC??
I didn't really like the models and I can't recall the captures to be honest
