It’s really cool to see you’re still pushing the boundaries of unique surfing and board building! Haven’t seen ya in a long time since moving to Japan. Congrats on getting married. Miss surfing Encinitas with all the different characters, and especially miss surfing with your pops, RIP.
i had a idea for a gull wing rail that acts like a keel when the board is on edge but is like a finless board when the board is flat on the water....not sure if it would be any better than having 2 small fins on a board with a bit of camber so they can lift out of the water
So whats the point beside looking interesting ? seriously, what does this fancy fins give that a regular fin setup does not? Yeah, yeah, he pushes the boundaries but outcome is no different than any other regular surfboard ?
Basically saying the paddle fin went right back where they found it, in the trash can. Go smoke another joint, you do not know what your talking about.
There needs to be stronger psilocybin micro dosing to focus towards the design of asymmetrical paddle fins with magnets to levitate and propel off the iron in salt water. Good luck with wave pool fresh water 😅😅
Bla bla bla When the waves are pumping like in these scenes you can ride just about any old thing and rip it. These techy emasculated guy's are ridiculous 🙄
Like his understanding of fins, hydro-dynamics and shaping. If he could simply stop talking like a valley girl, it would be much easier to listen to what he has to say. It's f&*king irritating.
Honestly, the boards don't look pretty, they don't inspire me. Although I did see a Derek Disney 'new fish of sorts' at OB-SD, and that looked interesting,… angular rail, nice outline.
To each their own, but his boards + fin theories work. Based off his knowledge passed along from generations of shapers. Disney learned a lot from Burch

9 minutes of yapping from this guy is much appreciated!
I could watch Burch all day
Best shaper and best fins. Best combo ever
Burch rules 🌊

Need to see more of steph on that board
Very interesting 🙏🏽

they look interesting 🤙
Great human.
Glad you gave props to the thruster
Same difference
@@MichelleYred40 I wouldn’t dare swap out my thruster for an asymmetric because I know it’s hard
@@spicoledude asymmetrical difficulty levels is not even
@@MichelleYred40 I’ve never tried. Is it only for the same wave or can be ridden at beach breaks?
@@spicoledude left hand side is for dredging reef barrels and right hand side is for mini mush burgers
Had the fortunate opportunity to buy a used asymmetrical picklefork and it went MENTAL ....... to this day I regret selling it!
Thanks
positively iconical comical
Soo, is the add for a quad or a thruster?
There is a reason for 1000s of years ship builders haven't used Asymmetrical hulls
Boats have a different purpose and function though, no?
@trueames look at specialized race hulls. Still not Asym

Man he talked for like 10 minutes straight about that
It would be fair to be skeptical if Ryan didn't do such a great job of explaining the design and intent. Have you surfed an asymmetrical board?

Ryan mastered surfing a block of foam, so you're not wrong.

Maybe you are sensitive of people not as masculine as you?
