great as always but I feel like the flat foot shifting tune on the car was hindering the engines performance especially in between gears. I feel like flat foot shifting is more for straight line performance only, like a 1/4 mile or measuring acceleration, on a track like this tho... not so good in my eyes. Pretty good for a 300whp car nonetheless!
Fun car! Not sure of the owners driving capabilities, but the car seems fast enough already and lots of fun. I'd forget turbo, do brakes, suspension, take weight out.
You need to get a turbo converted 350Z on. It gives them the power they ought to have had from the factory. Transforms it completely and the chassis can take it. I had mine at 430bhp and it was capable of so much more in every way.
He should’ve put it in the normal race map without the bangs, I had the same tune on my HR and the bangs map makes it almost undrivable on the throttle because of how aggressive it is. HR’s are great cars though!

Despite the negative reputation VQ's have thanks to fart can exhaust owners lol, the 350Z as a whole is actually such an underrated beginner-friendly track car. It's modest yet respectable performance from factory and cheap price tag (at least based on what I've found on CARFAX and others) truly captivates it's accessibility, and complimented by it's legacy in NFS Underground 2, F&F, and even the Japanese JGTC/Super GT series, very much nothing short of iconic.
I had one.. and I hated it. It was just way too heavy and I had terrible gas mileage on it whilst not even being so fast in the first place. The clutch was terrible and would often just go flat whilst driving in a traffic jam and I had to scoop it back up with my left toes. It needs so much modding for it to become good unfortunately and that was a rabbit hole I didn’t want to dig into. 1 thing tho.. I was in love with the sound it made. Absolutely gorgeous. From the inside stereo to the outside NA engine sounds.. That was the only reason I had it for a full year. -edit- it had driven 27K kms on the clock. So new and still so faulty
Yeaa I agree, they are very heavy and not as exciting to drive as they look in my opinion. The turbo mod that the owner wants to do will change the characteristics of the engine though so might be what is 'should' have been from the factory
I find these cars are actually quite like marmite from a driving perspective. I've test driven a couple and both times I just didn't get on with. They are heavy and the mapping of the engine, long gearing just makes the car feel slow and laborious to drive. I might just be used to German engineering though as I had an Audi TT Mk1 225 and BMW e46 325ci which both felt faster and more nimble despite being 100+ bhp slower on paper.
Was that a Tiguan walking this Z? lol. With this much UK on board that car needs more spring. That car is on the bump stops hard in many places and is rebounding beyond the capability of the shocks. Maybe they could turn up the rebound. Misha has caught it multiple times whereas others might not have.
It sounds a lot faster than it is, which isn't a bad thing when you're just driving for fun. It needs shorter gearing and some weight loss to be a more serious track car.
Misha, your videos quality demands a microphone for your guests, so we can hear what they really say about their cars. 😝 This is the only thing left to do to complete your very good quality filming gear. In my have a4 b5 with poor stock brakes I had some other brand pads that I do not remeber anymore, but other people were recommending them for this car and after a track day my brakes started to squeak on everyday usage. Now I replaced them to some stock, non racing ferodos and the problem is gone so those pads are definitely easy and cheap upgrade that can be done.
