499 for WFP Whoof
I ha e seen it run between 299 and 499
Still way too much Major, great bottle but don't get me wrong I wouldn't pay that even if I didn't have one!
Yeah, I tend to hunt pours not bottles
Just grabbed a weller full proof store pick for 219 in Michigan.
Honestly, flavored whiskeys are great for cooking/sauces! Just make sure it's on a lower heat else it'll burn pretty quickly! I have make a REALLY good bbq sauce with The Jim Beam Peach.
Interesting peach would be good
I'd stay away from a store selling wfp for 600. Straight up robbery!😂
I have seen worse
Especially since it's a $60 bottle
@@MajorXero yet some folks still buy them at those insane prices🤦♂️
@@goodlien Right, but realistically its near impossible to find it in the wild at msrp. $600 for 1 WFP before taxes is ludacris. You could easily get 3 WFP for $550 without tax or a bit less at secondary groups 😂 6:14
@Sgt.Trigger209 the heart wants what heart wants
Apple brandy is amazing to cook pork in! (random, semi-related sidenote)
I have some I may need to try that
noice new store. super cool. cheers
You need to do some videos with freezer old fashioneds
Yikes on those allocated prices!
That is the price we pay for seeing bottles on the shelf
Awe a baby Mellow Corn. How cute!
I just had to take it home with me
Great video major!! Thats a pretty good store. Have a nice night
Thanks I am at a ball game
That 2XO is great!!
I have not had much of it
I use Ancient Age in my freezer door old fashioned bottle. I usually use Bulleit Rye or Early Times BIB if I'm making a single.
Love the idea of having one in the freezer
You have the best hunt videos, keep doing it as you have been. There seems to always be a small amount of winers on these hunts. Your hunts are the best there is.
Thanks! With a deck like yours, I bet you have your own recipe for bbq sauce with whiskey
@@MajorXero no BBQ from us We are more into the dry rubs
@decknightontherocksbourbon nice, Mayne mix a little pineapple juice bourbon for a marinade
If the Kentucky Spirit Wild Turkey bottles say the barrel came from CN, that means it came from their Camp Nelson Warehouse. A source of most of their allocation bottles.
This is close to my house and will check
We were lucky to get the last run of a store pick and we were like 🤯
Wow never even seen a store pick
@MajorXero they're super rare. I've tried 3 of 'em and they never disappoint.
Buster's had a KY Spirit pick last year. I have a little left. It's really good!
It's interesting that they have the bottles in the cooler. I've never seen that variety of bottles in a store cooler.
There is a thin line between genius and insanity
As far as unflavored, you lose a lot of the nuance of flavors in my experience, so pick the distillery you think would pair well and aim for a cheaper version.
I am thinking the higher sugar the better
At those prices, they can collect dust.
They probably will
Nice store and selection, VERY NICE Tequila selection 👌 😋. Good review 👍🥃😉
Thank you!
Great hunt I’m going to look out for the cask strength
It is great
I Need to know more about the Rwdwood Rocket Top. Let me know when you go back.
Will do
They're a little confused on where Mellow Corn goes lol.
Agreed
40 creek is my local distillery.. some of their single barrels are excellent.. not sure what the availability is like in the USA.. but worth a visit if you ever travel near niagara falls / Toronto Canada
Nice, so.it is all made in Canada?
Rabbit hole cave hill is great!
Another one I haven't had much of
WT KS is my favorite CN suppose to be the best I’ve heard the TY is great but to me all of them are awesome
Nice
Pick up the dueling grounds single barrel
I think that is the first recommendation for dueling grounds. What do you like it about it?
I currently like adding Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey or Wild Turkey American Honey to my BBQ sauce. I keep meaning to pick up a Garrison Brothers Honeydew to try in my sauce but at $60 I usually can’t make myself do it. 😂
I haven't even heard of the Garrison Brothers Honeydew., but that would be interesting. Have you had any of it?
@@MajorXero Yes, I have had a decent amount of it. It is their Small Batch Bourbon but infused with wildflower honey. I refer to it as the WT American Honey on steroids. The honey notes are much richer while due to their Texas aging, it doesn't overpower the more traditional bourbon notes. You can still pick up caramel, oak, and even some apricot on the palette. The only con in my opinion is that at around $60 it is a bit pricy for a bottle that is inherently designed for mixing cocktails. Although, if you like a nice Hot Toddy it really shines with those. I typically go through a bottle every year just for that reason. Just need to remember to keep a little around next time for trying in a BBQ sauce as I think it would work extremely well in one.
@Finis08 sounds like it, definitely something I want to try
Growing up me and my friends drank jim beam the big handle. That was our drink for many years. Those were the good ole days.
Need a pour one for old times
@@MajorXero most definitely appreciate the content keep up the good work
Thank you
Hey Major Nice Store I see they had Valencia in stock,, wish I could find some here,,, I was thinking add Buffalo Trace to the BBQ sauce nice sweet taste or Penelope Rio to me its a honey bomb could be nice on BBQ .... Thanks
Buffalo Trace bbq sauce would be good
Very cool to see that Burnside making it's way across the country - but would not necessarily recommend. Haven't had anything from my home state of Oregon I would recommend buying, some barrel strength Bull Run maybe. Heard Westward has some good bottles & some Trails End can be good - but haven't had a chance to try.
Love the label. You wouldn't recommend Woodinville?
@MajorXero Woodinville has been just OK for me - haven't had a bottle I disliked but haven't had one I would replace once empty either.
@LarsPDX I get an interesting cherry not with mine
You know, I believe Travelers would be great in a BBQ sauce. It's on the sweet side and has a pretty good nose.
I think you are right! You use it let me know
Just wanted to let you know that I find the jokes to be part of the charm that keeps me coming back. Keep up the good work!
Thanks good to hear it!
Agreed I find it to be entertaining keep up all the hard work @MajorXero and I like seeing what all the stores have to offer in your area it’s only about 4 hours from me so who knows when I might head that way for some bottles.
@BamaBourbonNick I like to help people make up their mind. They either know they want to go to that store or not
@@MajorXero exactly I really appreciate all the hard work you put in and you and your discord helped me out a lot in my recent trip to Memphis I knew where to go and exactly what I was looking for.
@BamaBourbonNick awesome I am loving all the help our discord has done with getting people connected and getting all the things they are hunting
That Full Proof Weller will never move for that price. The Antique 107 will go soon. Life is too short for Mellow Corn! Don't do it! Love your channel and the content...keep it up!
I like mellow corn not a bad bib
@@MajorXero Honestly, I've never tried it, so I shouldn't knock it. To each their own...Hope your week goes well!
Tastes like buttered popcorn, I highly recommend it
I don’t understand how a new store can have Buffalo trace allocation already?? Always thought you had to sell a bunch of sazerac products first
They bought and rebuilt the building
Noble Oak plants a tree also!!!!
Never heard of them l, how is it?
@@MajorXero it’s great, when you mentioned making BBQ sauce, that’s our go to bourbon for are sauce 🤘🤓🤘
Nice! What is your recipe??
Those prices are criminal
Which are the rest
With those prices, I wouldn’t do business with that place! Ridiculous!
Except for a couple of allocated bottles, their prices are pretty standard even allocated are pretty standard here too
@@MajorXero $499 Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend, $500 Weller FP….I would honestly talk to the owner to get a feel for the situation. They should start a point system for those bottles and not put them on the shelf for such ridiculous prices. I cannot stand seeing that shit!
@muriloninja we never see any of it, and we do those are pretty close to standard
If making a BBQ sauce I'd probably use wild turkey longbranch due to it being finished with mesquite.
Interesting, are you in Texas? We tend to use more hickory here in TN
No, I'm from ohio, but I had a buddy of mine make a batch of his honey BBQ sauce and used that to give it a touch of smokiness and an excellent bourbon body to the sauce
Nice, would have thought you would like some Weller SR being from the land of Weller
That's a possibility, but I'd use weller for spritzer with apple juice during smoking the meats
@erichhaney684 I like apple cider vinegar
HERE WE GO!!🥃🇺🇲🥃
BBQ sauce bourbon? Old Forester 1910 for the extra smokiness.
Think it would be too much banana?
nice selection
Love new stores
BBQ sauce bourbon...maybe a Wild Turkey Honey or Jim Beam Peach🤔
Peach would be interesting
The jokes and the commentary are awesome. You’re doing a fantastic job. Ps. The redwood empire lost monarch cast strength isn’t minty
Nice! Spearmint is the palette killer for me
Clear Dickel don't recall seeing that
Me either
I feel for you folks in Tennessee. Those prices are embarrassing! Kentucky and Ohio have it made
I have heard that Ohio is the land of Weller
@@MajorXero it really is. Most of their stores get a mountain of special reserve and a couple cases of antique most weeks. Kentucky has the big chain stores like Total Wine, Liquor Barn, and Kroger. Kroger has monthly allocated drops and a couple of their northern KY locations do these huge drops where they have thousands of allocated bottles. Last people in line are walking out with Stagg.
Nice
Some of the worst prices I’ve ever seen in my life. They should be embarrassed
You would be surprised these are pretty standard for the area
You need to come to TX! I got Rockhill Farms for $129, Weller Full Proof for $79 and Henry McKenna for $69 within the last month. Rockhill Farms today!
Never seen it that cheap ever, what part of Tx
Dfw, specifically Aubrey for the Rockhill and Bedford for the Weller. The McKenna is everywhere
I have been wanting a Rock Hill farms for a while
Those blue note SP labels are horrible, they always fall off
I agree
All the redwoods have been good
How minty are they
@MajorXero not very minty at all.
Nice
Ignore the a$$holes. You do a great job of showing bourbon prices. Could Ignore all the flavored stuff bit still enjoyed the video even with museum pricing on allocated products. Keep up the good work.
Funny thing is when I crap on the flavored stuff or skip people complain. Somedays you can't win 😀
Is Henry McKenna worth a buy? It cost me 70$ even; where I'm at!
We love it and always keep backups, but they vary pretty wildly from barrel to barrel. $70 is pretty reasonable, but the bubble on it is definitely bursting. We've seen it over here in Chicago for as low as $60. There's a lot more of it around now too, which helps drive the price down.
I agree
Thank you I appreciate the recommendation about it, there's almost always a bottle of it on my military base package store and thought it might be worth the buy if someone has something good to say about it.
No problem
It’s less than 50 where I’m at. LA and TX
How do you keep a straight face when telling you those prices?
I am here to just report the news 😀
Dom is the best
Never had it, but I hear good things
99 for McKenna ? Lol. That’s horrid .
How much is it where you are?
@@MajorXero 59
That is a great price. Never seen it at that price
@@MajorXero it’s all over Tulsa . Tulsa has a lot of hard to find stuff these days
Stagg?
If it says Rye then it's going to be minty and unfit for human consumption.
I have had some pepper ones that are great
$600 for the Full Proof 🤦🏼♂️
I have seen it for 800. What does it run in your area
I live in NC so we never see it..if it does get dropped it usually goes to bars and restaurants 😢
It's a solid pour
@@MajorXero absolutely! I was able to get a bottle last month. Actually had a small pour this evening 😋
@goodlien never had a bottle but had a couple of pours
Another over priced priced store. That’s all we need. 😂
Good price on mellow corn
@@MajorXero 👍
Total ripoff
Which one
Any recommendations on stores I should hit. Near CASHIERS NORTH CAROLINA
He have a carolina channel in the discord, one of those guys can help better than me
