Brandon shows me some of his favorite local liquor stores for bourbon hunting and rare finds. These are his go to for allocation and unique store picks.
I just went to Amans in Wind lake last weekend for the first time... It wont be the last time I go there. You guys need to hit up Liquor Guys in Wauwatosa. They are doing great things since moving into their new location. Probably my favorite store between picks, selection and prices. (they raffle most if not all of their allocated stuff)
I was up in Madison in March... Woodman's is insane. Easily one of the best liquor stores I've even been to due - great selection (particularly if you drink more than bourbon) and insanely low prices. Best tequila prices I've ever seen. I hunted around Wisconsin, up by the Dells, and down along I-90. Found some good stuff, like 1792 BIB, 1792 Full Proof picks, 4 Roses SB Picks, and random bottles not available in Missouri. Overall, the selection was good but Tequila was the highlight in Wisconsin. When I crossed I-90 into IL I had better luck. Found tons of very interesting bottles at Binny's. Binny's is just absurd though.
Wisconsin is a mixed bag of availability. We’ve had a lot of luck South of Madison and North of Milwaukee. Agreed fully on IL. We’ve find a lot of bottles south of the State-line.
Milwaukee here. Got to Amans sometimes. Prices at Consumer Beverage are WAY better. They do have allocated bottles and they do not jack you on the price. Everything is dollars lower or equal to total wine and way cheaper than Amans
This is my first video I watched from you channel on a bourbon hunt. I liked the stores but when you are inside it was hard to follow. You seldom showed the bottles and prices up close. I don't know what others watching your channel for but I love bourbon hunting videos that go slow, don't jump around and frame the bottles and prices in the camera such that you can see the bottle and the price. I am in Iowa and go to Wisconsin on trips and would love to watch more of your videos especially if they were more informative of the unique, hard to find bottles and the prices. I am going to subscribe to watch more of your videos to see if they are informative. Your filmer often zooms in and zooms out so fast that it is hard to catch the prices.
Hey, thank you for the feedback! I did notice the camera work. It is not my best, but it is basically my first time doing it. There will be many more to come, and hopefully, it will improve with time. Thanks for watching, Dennis!
Thomas S. Moore is a "premium" line from Barton 1792. Really, it's more of their experimental finishing line ever since Sazerac took over. If you ever have a Buffalo Trace rep doing tasting at one of your local stores they almost always bring some TSM. They don't push the brand but it is a Sazerac product. Down in Missouri they can't sell the stuff. Lately Total Win has been marking it down to $45. At $45 it's tempting but the samples I've tried aren't that great. The madeira finish might be my favorite so far, but I am a big fan of Madeira finishing. The Cognac is also pretty decent. Both really make the whiskey inside (which is 5-6 years old) taste much older.
I was in shyt hole Milwaukee last Saturday. Went to 12 liquor store each one more ghetto than the next. Only found one bottle of blantons for 200 lol fk that
Really liking the audio upgrade! Videos have been sounding great!
Thanks for noticing!!
Not sure if anyone posted. You passed up a Hard Truth Wheated BIB for 49 bones. That’s a steal. Get one and try it. One of my favorites.
Thank you so much for commenting! We’ve been considering a Hard Truth purchase and needed a recommendation. ✅

Liquor Guys it is! Thank you for the recommendation
Great Video, just found your Channel, Liked and Subbed. I started mine back in November. Cheers🥃🥃🥃
Reciprocating from across the pond. We launched in December. Keep up the good work & thank you for the support!

FYI - Starlight Distillery is their own juice. I live close to their property / compound. Fantastic family doing some fun stuff in the market.
Thank you for letting us know! Grain to Glass.
That redwood empire lineup is great
Poured it. Rolled It. Sniffed it. Tasted it. We concur!!

Right on! Thank you for sharing your insight. Consumer Beverage is Now on the list.
There's a ben holladay rickhouse just chilling on the shelf!
For some reason Holladay Lineup is really well represented in this part of the state!
Gotta try hunting at Ayras Liquor in Franklin WI. They always have good stuff sitting on the shelf.
Yes Ayras is another really good one. We may pop into Racine location soon, to showcase their wall of Allocation!

Thanks for the insight! Brandon tends to favor Barton whiskey so maybe we will pick up a bottle to blind.
All the store picks!! Aman’s for the win
Always
Consumer Beverage is way cheaper
Don’t sleep on OCD from Glenn’s Creek.
Thanks for the recommendation! Some of the very best comes out of Frankfort KY!
Nice video! I wish more places would let you try before you buy 🤣
Yes! Agreed, especially with store picks
It’s like the North Pole for Bourbon lovers. Nice
It’s lovely this time of year!
bourbon hunting in the Sticks Nice!
Not wrong
When do you think we’ll start seeing ECBP B524 in SE WI?
Honestly, we picked up A124 in February so I am going to guess it could be as early as June.
Just casually waking past that OCD #5
It is tough sometime we don't see everything and sometimes I feel I am looking with my eyes close. Ha! Hopefully won't be passing that up again. 😊
I saw that too! Went for the "popular" brands.
It’s has to be ocd premium #5, just the regular version is kind of a miss.
That 15yr american light whiskey is dope, but think i got it for $89.
We are hearing similar feedback! Looks like one we may need to make a return trip for.
Village wouldn’t let you film cuz they are always north of secondary, I never understand it lol
Yes! There’s a reason they have allocated products on the shelf. They are typically 4-5x MSRP, but cool dudes overall!
Thomas Moore is Barton. And its crap, which is why its in clearance bins.
Another one for the Do Not Buy list. Thanks!
You are so right. It's 1792 in various cask finishes. It's not just crap but expensive crap.
I grabbed an old elk sherry cask finish recently and it is super underwhelming for a $90 bottle
Darn, Sorry to hear that! Honestly we did the Same thing with the Obtanium we picked up.
People say Penelope American light whiskey is Penelopes better juice.
Don’t doubt that whatsoever! We’ve enjoyed a lot of their bourbon.
@@WisconsinBourbonBros unfortunately it's not in my area
Don’t buy the old elk blended, not great
Thanks for the recommendation! Saved us some 🦌
cringing
Same

😂 sounds like you had an adventure!
Wisconsin is trash when it comes to finding anything allocated otherwise you can find pretty much anything else easily
You’re not wrong. There’s allocation, but it’s going to cost you double + MSRP
