No. The flooding is because these a low "islands", basically just big sand bars. If you have a 10ft storm surge, and the highest point on the island is like 8ft above sea level? It doesn't matter what infrastructure you have in place. The island is getting flooded. Besides, you'd think DeSantis would reject any aid, for being socialistic.

Hurricanes are rare in that area for a direct hit. I was there years ago and the residents were not very concerned.
