I had it yesterday and damn I'm not even surprised. It was also the cheapest Blanco on the menu.
I was so with Dillon until he said the drinkability of water is 10. 😆
Haven’t tried Ocho yet and so I am really looking forward to the comparison with Fortaleza.

Water is so a 10 for drinkability, at least in my mind lol. Just had my first surgery and binging your channel has definitely made recovery much better.
Yeah I thought “water = 10 drinkability” made sense too, assuming the water is as pure as possible and not something like mineral water.
I love the Ocho bottles. Plain and simple with a nice label that presents lots of information and you get to see what the tequila looks like. Preferable to the new style bottles for me.
I’ve tried every year and my favorite batch was the 2020 la Loma and the 2017.
There are different estates in each year.
Gotta give you to you guys: the point scores are pretty close: but the discussion and tweaking of these scores really brings up so many interesting points. Thanks for another great review! PS: You guys got me into Fortaleza.
my experience drinking the reposado was that it was a little too peppery but now that I've tried more tequilas I've come to appreciate the flavors and complexity of ocho. thank you guys!
I love it. I'm a novice and I find it is an agave that is high quality and super approachable. Plus the price is right. For a beginner that is sipping a glass and who doesn't want to make a mixed drink... I think Ocho Single Estate is perfect.
Thanks, awesome video! I have a bottle of La Loma 2020 that has been open for about 9 months. One of my favorites, it is has opened up & showing a little more complexity.
Started with Bourbon and now exploring Tequila, this was my first bottle I cracked to learn and appreciate agave.
I saw this one after seeing your blanco blind test. Now what do you have to say for yourselves. Ocho has been one of my favorite tequilas for a while. The El Pastizal though is not in my top 5 Ochos. Of the recent releases I love 2017 Los Nopales the best followed by 2020 La Loma. The Los Nopales doesn't usually rank as a favorite for most people but the La Loma is always up there. Fortaleza is below Ocho in my rankings (never had Lot 100 although 105 was fantastic). Volans might be next. Too soon to tell. G4 doesn't make the cut although the blanco is the best of its lineup. Terralta is right there with Ocho and Fortaleza but it's hard to find for me in TX. There are several I would rank above all of those but most are more expensive. Wild Common, Fuenteseca '18, Cascahuin Tahona come to mind. Great show!

Just picked up a Don Fulano blanco; it gives Ocho and Fortaleza a run for its money. Super impressed.
Man… I had Don Fulano the other day and to be honest, it tasted like it had additives (although they claim additive free). Something about the palate tastes way too sweet and candy and fake.. yes it was insanely smooth (almost too smooth) but something was off. did you get that too? Just for reference I LOVE fortaleza, Ocho, Siete legua.. etc.
@Erik Kirakosyan Music I did not get an additive taste. Could be, different palates reacting differently; maybe you got a funky batch? Lots of good tequila out there; I just wish Fortaleza was easier to find. Cheers.
Great video CPU! I have a bottle of the still strength version of this and it really shines in my margaritas and bloody Marias.
Was hoping for the ocho puntas overproof version. Next brand to review should be Cazcanes.
I like listening to the different opinions of the scoring system. I agree that all of those categories have their place, but with them, there are varying interpretations, but none of those opinions bleed into the overall score; you upped on category and lowered the other - no extreme skewed the overall. Fair and valid

Love Tequila Ocho Blanco. Especially at the price point. And very readily available and easily found in Louisiana.
Great video boys, in Illinois, Ocho is readily available, at Binny's $44.99, Woodman's $39.99. Going to buy it on my next Woodman's run. Bought it, love it, one of the easiest to drink Blanco's I have had.
Bought my first bottle the other week. It’s good but El Tesoro is still my favourite.
I bought this and a bottle of Fortaleza last weekend. I also have a Lalo. Ocho is excellent but I do prefer the Fortaleza. Lalo is very good as well but Fortaleza is the best Blanco that I have ever had.
Fun video guys! Ocho has been a staple of mine for many years. First time seeing a review and am looking forward to seeing more.
My biggest question on your scoring... For the quality you get for only $40, what the heck is needed for a 5? Only other one that comes to mind would be a Casa Noble blanco for $30-$35.

I agreed with Dillon for the most part on this review, for me personally I felt the sweetness didn't really hit the mark for me like some of the other blancos. Cheers guys, always a fun and entertaining watch!

Also I live in Rochester NY and can get the Blanco at several places.
It's really good. I lean more towards reposado and anejo, but Blanco this is one of the best.
I get agave, slight mint and fresh clean fruits.
Along with Pasote blanco, Ocho is my favorite. Delicious.
This scoring was oddly agreeable where I think you will remain friends after you turn off the camera. 5 stars!

This is a great representation of why you should try everything you can and dont just take peoples opinions on a product. Everyone's nose and palate is different.
This is now on my list of tequilas to try.

This is a 5 in value. Less than $50, always available in Austin TX, and tastes as good or better than Fortaleza. Great Blanco!
Another great video! Just curious (Curiosity Public), do you know what tequilas do we have here in SD that have limited distribution in the rest of the States? Just wondering what tequilas I should be especially appreciating here.
Thanks! Not sure what is anything is limited in distribution these days. It is definitely easier to find certain brands (like G4, Tapatio, Arette) and also easier to find them for better prices in SD.
I may be trying this out within the next week. Not the blanco because I typically go for anejo’s but where I found this at was like $56 for the repo

Ocho is over double that price where I am. Picked it up in Mexico last year for 25 bucks and liked it, went to pick some up when I got home and its around 100 after tax :(

Tequila Ocho 2023 was easy to find in Brooklyn, NY $50 bucks.
They must make several releases a year… I got a 2021 La Ladera.
Unique case, but this is far more available than fortaleza in Johannesburg at the moment

I’d like to ask, what would be an example of a more “complex” blanco? Since you guys gave this a low 7,7, and 6 on complexity.
They obviously wouldn’t know a complex Blanco. They just had one and don’t know it. They are amateurs in agave spirits.
So I'm checking out your tequila glass link and that page has several different glasses. The Tequila glass looks exactly like the spirits glass which costs about half as much. WTF?

we actually have a Blanco tequila with the Camarena family called Ave tequila would love you guys to review it in my opinion better the patron casamigos and coralejo inbox me where i could send the bottles to.
Just picked up a bottle for cocktails, they didnt have anything else any good lol. Bit overkill but oh well
