I live in West Virginia and I work in as assisted living home...I'm going to sneak this into one of their meals!! lolol...I'm going to call it "steamed dumpling" because otherwise they won't even try it...but Chetna I have "slid" in a couple of your recipes that many of them really enjoyed!!! Our youngest resident is 96.
Nepali style dumplings or momos are best .They are not fried but steamed and if wish to then fry after steaming .Minced meat is flavoured with spices and eaten with hot n spicy tomato chutney .Yum
All you need for momo or dumpling is minced meat or finely chopped vegetables(cabbage/carrot/1-2 stalks of celeriac) , onions and ginger. Instead of this you can use paneer( break it with hands) or finely chopped mushrooms that has been pan fried a little. Now for flavour add salt, crushed black peppers. Optional but you can add chopped chives and coriander. To save time you can buy readymade dumpling wrappers from Chinese supermarket. Once wrapped then oil the steaming pan, load dumplings by keeing a little apart to avoid sticking with one another. Steam it on top of boiling/steaming water for about 15 mins.. For dipping sauce cook tomatoes, add a little garlic, coriander, salt to taste and chilli then grind/blend it. Or just use crushed chilli with oil or soy sauce.
Hi Chetna that is amazing i will definitely making this amazing chicken dumplings, I like eating chicken too in my house we eat chicken more then lamb, we only eat lamb once in a while, this chicken dumplings looks so yummy 😋 😁❤ its worth making at home, thank you so much for another amazing recipe to try ❤
This brought me back to my childhood! My grandparents were so patient with my clumsy pleating. My family’s traditional “3 Treasures Filling” dumplings were a combination of ground pork, shrimp, and Chinese chives, and you can mix in napa cabbage, shiitake mushrooms, chili sauce, garlic, soy sauce, and ginger to make some of the best dumplings ever!
I just printed this one out from her website and really want to make these! After I finish my current batch of your great easy Cumin Rice that I'll mix with chili either in a bowl or a burrito I'm making these! I'm thinking of lazing out and just buying some dumpling wrappers or even egg roll wrappers because they're bigger. Not sure what the shape of them will be but I'll find out! Thanks for so many great recipes! Any chance you'll get to come to the States on a book signing tour? I'd love to meet you and say thank you in person! My absolute very very best wishes to you and yours!!! 😀
16:44 British White woman using _chappati chimta_ to pick up (Chinese/East Asian?) dumplings while _veena/sitar_ music plays in the background.... Multiculturalism for the win!!! 👏👏👏👏 what's the sauce at 16:52? if that was from elsewhere i could've added that too to the ☝ statement
your being an irresponsible cook adding sugar when it's inconsiderate of you for others who might be diabetic, therefore not allowing people with diabetes to taste your cooking, showing you don't care about seriously ill people whom you could be helping into the hospital, Are you happy now?
Omg didn’t know dumplings was so easy to make. Mind you I can’t even make a decent chappti can never get in circle shape so if I tried making the dumplings got knows what shape they turn out. Why does Chetna cooking always make me so hungry.

I have been so anxious about trying dumplings, but this looks approachable!

Also …great extra instructions chetna, thank you. Abt how big shld the circles be?
I cook all dumplings like pot stickers - pan fry bottoms, then boiling water, lid on, & stream 5 min. Fresh or frozen, any kind; so easy.
So delicious too

Shapes dont matter, taste does! you can do it
@@FoodwithChetna Never thought of it like that. Thank you.
you're gonna pinch the edges together anyway; why does it matter if your dumpling wrappers are perfectly circular or not?
