pro tip: you can watch series at kaldrostream. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies lately.
How can you not like this guy? I've liked him ever since his hilarious, super stressed out appearance on the GOW2 making of. He looked like he was about to die from stress in that documentary.
Funnily enough, I think GoW 2 is the best GoW game, even compared to 3 and GOW 2018. 2 is often underappreciated because it didn't look as nice as GoW 3 on PS3 and GOW on PS4. 2 has great narrative, it builds up and explores more of Kratos' character, from basically an angry brute in GoW 1. 2 also has great pacing and good length (3 was great but kinda short), along with some of the most iconic boss battles in the franchise.
I think it's very hard by now to best define a gow game . When the series started back in 2005 , it had a very good story , a marvelous combat system and a memorable well written antagonist . Fast forward two years later and the sequel time is ready , bringing a much better combat system, a slew of stupidly good boss fights and a more expanded story . And although both games shared a lot of similarities , they were still very different . The game although better in every aspect in the sequel , didn't feel as tightly well written in the sequel , going all over the place from titans to time travel to destiny , managing to convert a highly deep personal story into a full ravaged war . Then came gow 3 , which upped the ante to eleven , adding new gore and blood effects unheard about at the time and managing even to present much better boss fights than 2 . And although 3 was the more technically capable one , it didn't match 1 and 2 very good level design and puzzles , and kratos as a character has become so one note that he has lost any element of empathy he once had in 1 and 2 . Although it provided a more straight forward story , when compared to 2 and ended the series on a decent note .
And of course in 2018 there came the latest , which came with a blank slate , to best define and re_examine what is gow in the first place while providing a fresher take on the series at the same time .
So in conclusion , if i had to sum my ideas about every entry in the franchise , I'd say : Gow 1 the best written one in the series . Gow 2 the most tightly constructed . Gow 3 the best boss fights in the series . Gow 2018 , the most balanced one in all aspects .
Alien gow 2 is definitely the pinnacle. It captured the essence for me, and I played them all

I love that you can really tell that Cory talks about this whole "we are all not perfect and that's ok" things because he genuinely wants people to benefit from his experience so they don't have to struggle as much as he seems to have.

He was Rage fueled. What was he supposed to do after murdering all the Greek gods? He achieved his revenge plot. Time to calm down and have kids. Haha.
Having a kid changes you as a person. You look at the world differently. Everything is for the child. Hence you grow up and mature. Kratos did just that.
I think he is just as brutal as he was, but has no reason to use said brutality at the moment. Maybe in the next God of War we'll see him ripping gods heads off.
I played the god of war games with my dad growing up, and I'm so glad it's a father son story now. We can share that adventure of kratos and his boi. Good job with the game. :)

God of war is my favorite game of all time, I'm a diehard of it. Story time: When I first saw the cover of it, I thought it was a horror game and I didn't like horror games and was too young to play it. One day I found a demo in a gaming magazine and played it for the first time (I still have that demo) all I can say was wow. I never knew it was about Greek mythology, being Greek descent myself this was a big deal to me since there aren't many greek themes in games but I was hooked and it was pure epicness. when I saw the reveal trailer for the new god of war at E3, it was the first time I jumped out of my seat screaming over a video game, even when playing through it I screamed so many times I just wish I recorded it even woke up the whole house. when I saw everyone else's reaction to certain key moments it was nowhere near my level of excitement. thank you for giving us this truly amazing franchise! now this part I don't think you would consider this and this is a big thing to ask for and somewhat cringy but if you are looking for a voice actor for your next god of war could I get an audition can be the smallest character too I am a trained actor and could send over my showreel if you're interested but if not that's cool at least I asked. Thank you for reading.

i love it in future when Cory retires and tell us all the amazing stories and his journey for God of War games. It's really intresting. Maybe Cory should play GOW2 and explain us his experience when making the game. That be great too for a YT video or documentry video.
When I was 14, I decided to become a game designer due to this franchise. To be honest, I was young enough not to want to play it but after my older brother completed the campaign of God of War 3, I was curious about all those videoclips of the making of the game. I got the chance to play the most recent God of War less than two months ago though I was passionate about it since E3 2016. "Such is life!"

Im playing the second game on the PS Vita while watching this I’ve loved every God of War game I’ve played them all on release this series and DMC are my all time favourite action adventure hack n slash games ever love them to death and I love all the stories of behind the scenes thank you for sharing

I love all the games, but on the last one I wish there was more diversity in the bosses and I really enjoyed the button combos as well to finish them.
God Of War 2 is probably my favorite game ever, even though i'm sad to see we wont get any old style games again, i'm happy to see this amazing new style come into existence. I'm really looking forward to God Of War 5.

God of War 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. I think I was in 2nd or 3rd grade when it came out, and I still have vivid memories of finishing the game and then staying up all night watching the bonus DVD and being absolutely fascinated from seeing what it takes to make a game for the first time. So glad this series came full circle and continues to fascinate me to this day.

Cory is one of those people that when I watch him talk about something I get the feeling that if I was ever to have the opportunity to have a conversation with him we could just talk for hour (more like me listening to him talk for hours) simply because of the way that he talks about things that he has done, things he loves, and things he is truly passionate about. Cory if you read this I love your work and keep on being you man!

That little speech at the end about feeling around in a dark room was unexpected but very inspiring at the same time. I still haven't found the right switch, even at the age of 20, but I now realise that some people just find it quicker than others, and I'm sure when I finally find it it'll be extremely rewarding

Really cool seeing more and more of this behind the scenes stuff. I keep telling students to document their journey as an artist and videos like this are interesting insight into a game studio's day to day you don't normally see. I remember getting god of war 2 a year before I got into the industry as an artist and it was incredibly motivating, and one of the games that helped solidify my decision to get into the game industry. 11 years later you guys still provide constant inspiration to the industry. Thanks!
