Really it took 20years I watch it every fall
Me and you both

30 years!!!
“You gotta do your best to decorate this dying day.” Lyric blows my mind every time I hear it. Such a phenomenal song writer.
Same
I love it. 🥺
This whole song man. It’s an anthem
I just wish he grew old with us.
Me too.
Absolutely. A truly wonderful soul.
Fucking sucks
I wish Shannon, Chris, Kurt and Layne .....
😢me too
I was at Woodstock 94 and it was one of the best 3 days of my life
recently got into blind melon, they don’t disappoint, I only ever heard tones of home and of course no rain but soup as an album really just blows me away especially mouthful of cavities.
To make it even better, Mouthful of Cavities was written for Layne Staley when Shannon saw Layne go down the bad route considering they were really, really close friends. Similarly, "Soup" was written for Kurt Cobain.
To quote their guitarist:
"In our interview with Blind Melon guitarist Christopher Thorn, he said: "When he sang the lyric, 'I will pull the trigger and make you all go away,' I knew it was about Kurt Cobain. I had goose pumps for days after hearing that - and still do when I hear the song now."
The original version of no rain is the one to listen too. Blind melon will be a close companion in life if you allow them your vulnerable ear.
@@marcof1804 tysm for this info, I didn't know this.
@@marcof1804 That's awesome, thanks for letting us know!
Soup is a straight up masterpiece
Three of the best days of my life, spent with my brother Jay RIP. God I miss him, and I miss the feeling I had at this festival.
Rest in peace to your brother. I feel the same. I miss my younger days when it was just music and friends and fun. Long before the weight of the world became so heavy.
I was there, too...somewhere...with you and Jay. 😘✌
Simply put, this could perfectly enter the long list of the most magical moments in the historiy of popular music.
I'm only now hearing this. And Oh My God! I'm in absolute love with this song. RIP Shannon Hoon ❤️
Welcome 💙
THIS WHOLE CD IS BAD ASS
Today that pit would be a $1000 a ticket...and with Shannon...priceless!!! God bless you man!!!
His voice was incredible. Rest in power Shannon.🖤
Blind Melon was the most underrated band from this Era!
RIP Shannon Hoon!!!
I’ve listened to this song more than any other song so far this year. It’s keeping me together. Rest in Peace, Shannon
The male reincarnation of Janis Joplin!!
Sadly he perished too soon!!
Love ya Shannon Hoon!!
Tnx 4 d gre8 talent passion for music sharing the world though so little time I found my happiness to rock the world with u n several others!!
Godbless u Shannon wherever u are!!
So pure, so original and intens.. RIP Hoon
blind melon might be a one hit wonder commercially speaking. but this band got me into music, playing it and exploring it. love this band
One hit wonder?
@@marcoguerrero2389 saying they are known by the media as a one hit wonder
The first time I saw this video was in the “All I Can Say” documentary and it gave me goosebumps. So beautiful but haunting
Been waiting for a quiet evening to finally watch "All I Can Say". I feel like it's gonna be hard to get through but also very important to see.
@@ChopAndBrew It was brilliantly made, but also moving.
What is all I can say?
@@garden0fstone736 a documentary on Shannon’s life
I just watched that documentary 2 nights ago💔❣️
This keeps me alive
I was front row that day . Just awsome
His perfect harmony of his foot stomps to the drum beat is magical. Magnificent soul.
3:50 Shannon doing the cries of all the kids of the 90's 😥😞
lol why do people call the 90´s generation 90´s kids
God, the voice on that man.
Dude is so freaking cool… I miss him and I hate drugs
I was at this show. Awesome weekend.
He was famously tripping balls on acid during this performance, but it was absolutely 💯 perfect 😮
THE GOLDEN ERA
This was such an amazing performance, life was so simple then. Do wish SH was still with us. The acid was good!!!
I'll never forget that morning 🌄 to be 17 again..we miss you Shannon
I wore the Woodstock 94 VHS OUT back in the day. This performance was one of my favorites along with, For Whom the Bell Tolls by Metallica and get this, Collective Soul doing "Shine." Their lead guitarist went ham on that one.
Ok now makin’ me feel real bad for having mine in shrink wrap still lol.
That's an awesome song, I've always loved Collective Soul!
1994. best year in the history of mankind
Rocked!!!!!
So so young rip sweet boy ....i like axel but you are so good to ❤
Ppl dont take the brown acid!!!! I remember watching this on ppv such a long time ago. Damn 40 now. I was 12 when this was happening. Music is such a universal language. Shannon was a awesome guy and a awesome voice.
Time flies my friend
Born in 1981 here. Loved the early 90's as a kid
I think it's bad acid not brown lol
best song from them for sure
This is like my biggest dream
Being there..
Man. I can't believe how I dropped the ball on this band. I never had listened to this record before, being caught up in other music and life experiences such as I was. I think Shannon's death and lack of a tour for the record kinda sank it in the public consciousness so I missed it. Its great. Watching this, knowing how he died, how his band was struggling to keep him clean, knowing he was on acid during this performance...I just think of something beautiful being destroyed. Its sad.
❤
GRAN GRUPO DE LOS NOVENTA. SHANOON HOON UN GRANDE.✌✌✌✌🎸🎸🎸🎖🎖🎖🎖
Huge puertorrican flag 🇵🇷 right there! 👏 ☮️ 😍
Unfortunately he closed his eyes and made us all go away 😢
my friend @kyle was he one who bought and paid for him and his best friends tickets. i love those guys.
Man what I'd give to see them
Those were the days !!!
Wish the chick with camera crowd surfing would post those pics. Such a special and extremely lucky moment for all there.
Better times man
The nostalgia I get from this is insane.
Shannon high on LSD still sings better than most auto tuned singers today
As long as I live, I will never understand how Nirvana hit the stratosphere while these guys have remained relatively obscure.
"And I got a corner store and that's all the more
For me to praise upon the holidays"
His voice reminds me of axel roses. But better.
im 36 now
and i remember how crazy this was
lol not the generation then
I didnt know this back in 1994, but he is wearing his girlfriends dress and tripping🤣
Amazing year to be alive with so many great bands and unique performances.
Fucking genius!!!
Who moshes to this
Fuckin A
Always hated stupid violent people who's dance on the audience. Peace, love and music.

Singing about suicide
imagine covid ripping thru this crowd today
Huh? You fell for that crap, eh? Sad.
Hoon, Staley, Buckley, Cobain, Weiland, Cornell....
You think that’s all a coincidence?
Joplin, Hendrix, Buddy Holly, Morrison, Bon Scott, Bonham ....You think that’s all a coincidence?
I know so many people that do Heroin, drink super heavy. I know like 1 person that has died.
This was all an inside job
As was Napster, as is the total deconstruction of music as we knew it
They want zombies that consume -
The enlightenment of that era was squashed by the CIA.
You think it’s a coincidence so much Heroin ended up in Seattle?
Wake up.
Damn bro, you found the bad acid
@@Putchakutty 😂😂😂
You know like 1 person that died? Then you don’t know too many people that do heroin. Growing up in north jersey I’ve lost over 20 friends to this day. One just the other day.
You know one person that's died? I know a shit ton more than 4. Including choking on their own vomit from alcohol. So not just drug use. And I know addiction all too well and am lucky to be here. . Lost many from heroin. MANY. As in over 10. Probably 20. Some very close to me. And none of these people, nor me, were millionaires with unlimited money and people handing them drugs for free anyway. Add that and touring, and depression into the mix and you're done man. It's not a conspiracy. Although I believe Kurt was murdered. I don't even find that far fetched.
@@garden0fstone736 South here
Love the way he sings. He sing crys. You can hear the emotion and intensity straight from his voice
Thats a perfect description! 🤘👽
He sucked
Drugs helped
He sang from his heart that's what made them so special...Shannon sang from what his soul felt that is huge difference between today and rhen music sucks today far as I'm concerned.
@@Jasun1974there still is artists like that today and not on acid lol
His voice reached the heavens during this performance. And because of such, as a 14 year old boy, my very being reached the heavens with that voice while I listened to this over and over again. What heaven brought me was peace and a will to carry on. And his voice made it such. thank you Mr. Hoon. RIP.
Thank you for sharing. Phenomenal post!
Just reaching out to say I'm glad you found that will to carry on and I hope you're still carrying it onward proudly. Truly.

I was out there in the crowd, 27 years ago. We found the “bad acid”. Slept in the mud. It was awesome.
Bad acid eh? Do tell? Was it just some bunk research chemicals like u get these days. This section of the 90s had Leonard Picards acid
was it really $135?
Hahaha...... Not so bad a trip?!
Found the bad acid and it was "awesome"?
@@srujan00 yes, for 3 days of music...........
Went to school with Shannon, parted with him, got high with him. We were not best friends but I am proud to say we were friends. Rip.
How amazing. Thank you for sharing that! What was he like that you remember? 🤍
What was he like? Don't leave us hanging
Amazing Talent!
Gone to soon
Treasure what we have
Amazing
Happy 54th Shannon!! What a voice! Everyone keep fighting the fight!🙏❤️
He was the male janis joplin in my opinion
@adonaiyah Yes, those scratchy ups and downs, you got it.
I miss the voices of the 90s Layne, Chris, Shannon, Scott, Kurt.... Maynard, Eddie Vedder, Brandon Boyd are still on my list of vocalists still with us.
not to forget Dave Grohl!
Buckley was another taken too soon in the 90s
Maynard is still a thing
Can't forget Bradley Nowell from Sublime.. his voice was so unique, very raw and soulful voice..
Kurt sucked but ya, I know what you mean
The tone and performance by Shannon for this song was a phenomenal. Miss you Shannon.
Theres so many views from the last week
The drum stomp gets me every time, phenomenal performance!

Miss him too :(
@@38knucklehead78me too!
And now I'll close my eyes really really tight to make you all go away, I'll make you go away I'll make you all go!
This line made me cry all the time in H.S as for I had a bad childhood, with drugs and sexual abuse. This line just made me feel good
Blind Melon's lyrics are fantastic.
You've got this. I was able to move forward when I saw this cliche but true quote- "don't be a prisoner of your past- it was a lesson, not a life sentence. " Also, The line that had me crying in HS was of Linkin Park's A Place For My Head- "You try to take the best of me- go away". The fact that these musicians were able to save lives through music but not their own is tragic. Stay strong, proud and better than life gave the excuse to be. I'm rooting for you from afar
Have really distorted behavior lol..my old neighbor went to this concert and said when shannon came on stage he thought it was jesus. RIP Scott
early 90's was the best for music hands down. No auto tune just real music
Not really.....
But THESE GUYS were....
Hands down the best band in the last 30 years.
@@franram7426 Nirvana was better in my books
@@babyrakes
Maybe. I'd look foolish to argue against a band that popular. I'm sticking with my pick.
@@franram7426it's all subjective, anyway. 🤍
what a voice he had ❤️
this gives me goosebumps
Me too
Knowing the finality of it all, yes
His voice live never disappoints. I love how he digs into “I got a corner store…”
Yeah. There's nothing contrived in that voice. Just beautiful, really. Few musicians make my old ass still dream of being a rock star. Shannon does.
@@geoffreyjellineck3640I bet you feel the same way regarding his whole performance here too. I love how he just sold all out and went for it, the hair, the outfit, the lsd. He got in the spirit and gave everyone this unreal iconic set
Damn his voice is amazing
Agreed!
This literally feels like just yesterday
My favorite Christmas song! Save it until Christmas every year. Means alot to me and my family
Oh, what happened to our world? Gone are the days my friends, love to you all !!!
The clothesline of cold eyes
Is washing away the face before
Now tell me what's wrong you see everyone's gone
You gotta do your best to decorate this dying' day
This dying' day
All over a bowl of bitter beans
All over a bowl of bitter beans
And outside way, way up high I got a quarter moon mist
Hanging' over me
And now, I want that rocking chair outta there
Cause he's no longer living here
It's no longer needed here
All over a bowl of bitter beans
All over a bowl of bitter beans
And I got a corner store and that's all the more
For me to praise upon the holidays
And now I'll close my eyes really, really tight
And make you all go away,
I'll make you all go all go away
And I'll pull the trigger and make it all go away
And I'll make it all go away, I'll make it all go away
Man how times have changed. $130 a ticket to a big ass festival like that with awesome headliners. Today, a single day pass to ACL or similar is like $500-600. Same for a ticket to big act like Metallica. And that’s not even for good seats. You have to be wealthy or take out a goddamn bank loan just to go to a show these days. Glad I’ve seen almost everyone I’ve wanted to already because now I can’t afford to attend shows anymore lol
Last big one for me was Smashing Pumpkins with Jane’s Addiction last year and then Roger Waters the following night both at The Moody in Austin. Those shows broke me but were worth it. Only bands I really still want to see are Foo Fighters (even though it won’t be the same) and Tool (I have seen APC but definitely not the same)
My Gawd, I forgot what a phenomenal voice he had!!
Hands down one of the best singer/frontmen of the 90s.❤
I never knew this was about Kurt Cobain all these years😢
Really? I assumed it Shannons perspective since he basically ended up committing suicide too
@@huntersmith8733 Kurts death really got to him. Dam shame he went after it
This song brought back a lot of old memories of old friends I don’t see anymore. Music was awesome listening too JJJ radio in Sydney Australia. Miss those days :(

Single handedly calmed a huge crowd down
A lot of conviction in this performance... we miss you
