Progress looks good. I had to laugh about the crowbar accident, since you're trained in anything from hand to hand combat probably through strategic nukes, but not crowbars. Hope the bad guys don't find out about crowbar attack's, lol. Nice tool you have there, one tool I don't have, I'd probably use a right angle grinder with a cut-off wheel, but would be messy and a little dangerous.
Why was metal mesh added with plaster walls? We have this covering our whole basement ceiling and need to remove it all so we can get the entire ventilation system replaced.. all these videos are making me want to cry seeing what’s needed to get this done lol

Haha, my first go of it was with a right angle grinder! I grinded more wood than metal and yes, very dangerous.
Angle grinder a much better option. You'll blow through blades with an oscillating tools.
