Hello I've Aprilia SR160 after riding few kilometres the vehicle don't start. After few hours the vehicle starts. Fuel pump was replaced recently. Can this be a sign of faulty relay?
Hi Ben. Needed some guidance for my Himalayan. Recently did a long distance tour (1200 kms) and I've noticed an uncommon issue. My bike has been burning oil for some reason. It was serviced just prior to the ride with oil change and oil fiker replacement included in that. It's a BSVI (first lot March 2020 manufacturing). Any inputs from your end as to why this may be happening? There are no visible oil leaks anywhere. Only the exhaust fumes smell different. This is what led me to check. Thank you.
keep the bike parked at an angle where the exhaust points towards a DARK (no light or white ) background. turn the motorcycle on and let it idle for 5 minutes. now twist the throttle in full open position (REV LIMITER) and hold it there for 3-5 seconds . if you see a cloud of white smoke coming out of your muffler (this is where the dark background helps ) CONTINUOUSLY then and only then do you have an oil burning issue. double check by performing this 2-3 times. Otherwise the motorcycle consuming oil at constant cruising at higher rpms is absolutely normal. top up with 100 ml every 1100-1500 kilometers.
you are really right about that relay as one local mechanic burnt out his wiring harness as he replaced with higher amp relay he added 40Amp almost double the size of 20Amp as bs 6 gives 20A/10A on its prefitted and on UK models they provide 25A customized relay Re should reconsider to buy Minda 20Amp than buying those cheap Zhong-tong china

Hello
I've Aprilia SR160 after riding few kilometres the vehicle don't start. After few hours the vehicle starts. Fuel pump was replaced recently. Can this be a sign of faulty relay?
Yes 100%
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN Thanks
I've replaced the relay but still not starting. Engine light goes off when I try to start

Description of my MAINTENANCE KIT VIDEO
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN thank you so much for taking the time out yo reply. I will certainly try this. 🙏
My bs4 not starting fuel pump is priming and sparks are okay too...what might be the reason??
Fueling , clogged injector or water ingress
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN will it start if I clean the injector without replacing new one
you are really right about that relay as one local mechanic burnt out his wiring harness as he replaced with higher amp relay he added 40Amp almost double the size of 20Amp as bs 6 gives 20A/10A on its prefitted and on UK models they provide 25A customized relay Re should reconsider to buy Minda 20Amp than buying those cheap Zhong-tong china
yes going up by 5A is playing it safe.
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN yeah thats true besides ive observed on bs6 the company applies to much battery grease on the relay which gets dry and stiff and creates loose contact as ive wiped out and applied wd40 and it worked pretty well mainly that Fuel pump relay
@@aviator9985 some times RE, wiring is not the best even if u added grease it heats and melt up widening it's fuse socket pin locks
Ben, My Himalayan got only first service from the service centre. 2nd service been due since a few months. Inspired by you, I decided not to hand over my bike to the service center guys who have not a proper knowledge about the machine. Believe me. Rather I do it myself. I know you are there, Isn't it Ben? Am I correct? Or should I go to the Service Centre?
you can take care of EVERYTHING on the Himalayan if you are into PROACTIVE maintenance. i.e you dont wait till things go wrong.
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN thanks Ben. If i face some problem, i know you are there. And Ben, if you plan to visit Calcutta ever, i shall be glad to host you. You are such a loving person. May God bless you.

Ben i gota new Himalayan but when I leave the handle bar while riding it starts to fall/go right. I told my dealer and RE service center they said it's normal and if the speed is below 60 then it will do that
But the moment the speed drops from 80 it starts to go right
balance your wheels and check for alignment. Also check fork alignment.
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN Thank you

Sir my... Himalayan stalls between the 2nd and third gear .. some times..
But yesterday it stalled 4-5 times.. what to do?
Change the relays

Who to buy this relay bro.
I won't one
FOR THOSE WHO ARE UNABLE TO FIND RELAY.
YOU CAN USE MINDA'S 30A RELAY, BIKE'S RUNNING PERFECT NO CUT OFF NO STALLING
PERFECT.
For how long are you using it ? will it cause any issue with the circuit ?
Are minda relays working fine now?? Also, stock relays are 4pin, can we use 5 pin relays??
Good info
Glad it was helpful!
Hey Ben, Is there a chance to know which Knuckle guards Balaji is using?

Yes im owner of 2021 bs6 himalayan recently i faced the fuel pump issue all of the sudden bike stopped on road i just booke road assistance and got it serviced came to know fuel pump is malfunctuoning and replaced it for 80 rupees but sad part is when i enquired what could be d reason they are clueless and claimed we serviced 4 bikes recently with the same issue.
I mean the same issue engine cutting out in between as it happened 3 times the 4th time they replaced new fuel pipe i think relay could be the real issue
it is a simple fuel pump relay that needs replacing. nothing else.
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN but engine stalling is the true issue to be sorted out coz it makes me feel low especially whrn drivng in heavy trafic hopefully relay should put an end to this issue

@@ranjithr3348 No bro I didn't used it yet. My warranty period is not over yet . So I asked about it to the service center. They told If something gone wrong the warranty will cancelled. But I keep it with me always, it may help me incase something happens in the middle of ride .
Is it 4 pin or 5 pin and for bs6
@@sebby786 it's 5 pin micro relay
Ben can you connect me to someone who can supply me the relay in Mumbai
Try car Spareparts outlets
Micro relays 12v-20 or 25 A

Because of this issue, I called RSA in the middle of the ride, it ruined my ride for one day
Remove it and put it back again and all will be well for sometime
Himalayan have 5 relays?? 😱. But interceptor have 4 relays i guess?
Correction: Those are 5-pin micro-relays. It is really easy to find those in 25 or 30 Amps. Make sure to get the 5-pin model instead of the 4-pin model.
thank you for mentioning . Will remember that they are micro instead of mini relays.
Can I use 30A, instead of 25A as ben mentioned?

hi, can you advise where to get the 5 pin model.. its difficult to find
I got pissed off by 2018 model for 4 years. This problem or that problem. Ultimately sold that out in 2022 despite excellent ergonomics. How long one can massage the ego of the bike??😡😡
Hello sir from where can I get one
Pls search in your neighbourhood automotive Spareparts outlets .
