  • I show you the plug and play wiring and install instructions and some short share of the basic operation of switching .
The Gear Vendors unit is simply a fully self contained 1 speed automatic transmission that has its own oil pump and pan that bolts on to back of your existing transmission and engages with a electric solinoid.

I have the older style controller and it is terrible at about 55 or 60 and goes on and off. With my 4:10 gears that's quite a slam. I hooked a hot toggle to the solenoid and just turn it on over 35 or so if I'm going to be going over 55.

Mine did that as well but it was my speedo cable binding up I could see it on the speedo indicator wiggling or going up and down . If it works with the toggle switch for you problem solved . They told me at gear vendors that the reason they use the speed sensor on the speedo cable is not just for the auto mode but so that the gear vendor is always auto off by the controller at low speeds like 15 mph or at a complete stop or the pressure built up inside will cause premature wear they dont want the gear vendors on at a complete stop so the speed sensor cancels it out automatically in any mode auto or manual I drive 99 percent in manual mode .
