Pearl Eliminator P-2000C - Lobotomy - convert into two single pedals

- I've been playing this double bass drum pedal for a long time now. Always just using one BD. But the mechanical link between the left foot and the actual beater on the right eats up energy. So why should I continue to punish my weaker foot? Therefore I want to get a second bass drum that is played directly with its own kick pedal. Midigating the mechanical link.
Todays quest is to find out if I can swap the beater from the right to the left. So that I do not have to buy a new kick drum pedal too... - Наука та технологія
Thank you, really appreciate this one! Sadly I burred the head on one of the allen key screws on part of the mechanism (specifically, the piece that the spring mounts onto). Thankfully I was able to drill it out. I ultimately decided to swap the burred piece over to the left hand side of the primary pedal (as it is no longer being used since moving that beater over to the other pedal). Now both pedals work a treat! Cheers for your help.
Peter, thanks for keeping this video available... I just got a second bass drum and was about to purchase a single pedal too... However, just like you, I thought: "If I already have two pedals, why should I buy another one?". I immediately found your video and practiced the "lobotomy". It was easy and successfull. Now I'm ready to rock... !!!! Thanks from Costa Rica!!!!😉👌
Thanks for making this video! Just changed my double to two singles and your video was super helpful!
Thank you for making this! It was very helpful !!
Wow thank you very much for creating and sharing this video. You juts saved me close to $700 dollars. Now I don’t have to buy any more pedals but I have the double version. That is very smart. Thank you again for sharing and experimenting
Thanks for the video Peter this is really helpful
Greetings from Turkey! Cheers
This video help me with my eliminator when i want clean and change bearings :D
Thanks it helped me!
ive always thought that the spring for the slave pedal should be on the slave pedal otherwise if it is on the master pedal the link is forced to not only bare the brunt of the energy of moving the beater but also the added stress of the spring.
Thanks, I was looking for video like this. You could say in title something like 'converting double pedal for 2 singles' or something for people to find this more easily. I have eliminator P-2052 and my screws and bearings were ridiculously tight. Even with grease on everything it was very hard to take things apart. And one bearing in slave pedal was so stuck that i couldn't get it off even though i was hammering it with all my might. In the end I managed to do this conversion but the slave pedals bearings were left sticking slightly outward from their sockets. The hole job took me like 3 hours...
Thanks and done :). Yest the bearings are tough. You don't see it in the vid but I damaged my screen when the axis was hammerd out and flew right into it...
Good video
hello, you know if it's possible to convert this model from left to right?. Thanks
The process actually starts around 7:15
How do you remove the slave mallet? I used an allen wrench to losen the mallet holder but theres a nut inside it? Doesn't look like enough room to take nut off, any suggestions?
Sorry! My mistake! You answered my questions at 8:25! Thanks for doing this video -I've been searching for 2 weeks. 👍
Great Video! You should also replace the hinge on your masterpedal. The footboard moves horizontal..!
;-)
Yes the pedals are showing some wear and tear... after like 20 years :D
@@peterommes4360 haha that's fair! Great pedals though :-)
its reversible to left side ?
I don't think so. the left pedal can not handle two beaters
8:24 That thing wont come out. I unscrewed all the screws. What to do?
I’m having the same issue! Did you manage to resolve it?
@@andycraig8382 I hammered it out.
