@@ku8721No, that's psychosis which often gets conflated with psychopathy - related to sociopathy. You can be found innocent by reason of insanity if you suffer from a psychotic condition like schizophrenia but if you only have ASPD then you're more than likely to be considered fit to stand trial
@@ku8721 No, sociopaths are perfectly capable of telling right from wrong. They simply don't empathize with their victims, and don't get the jitters when performing crimes.
@@ku8721 In most legal jurisdictions, a sociopath is generally considered responsible in court, meaning they are held accountable for their actions even if they have a diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder (sociopathy), as the mere presence of a personality disorder usually isn't enough to negate criminal responsibility.
@@ku8721 The 'insanity' defense (at least in America, and often in other places) is meant to cover two specific situations: 1) a person is of such limited mental capacity that they can't even understand that something is wrong, and 2) a person is so strongly compelled that they are completely unable to prevent their bad behaviour by any normal means. Somali very clearly indicates in his videos that he's well aware that he doing 'wrong' things, and the very fact that he obeys he other legal prohibitions shows he COULD control himself if he wanted to. Or, to put it another way, there are people who are psychopaths but who don't choose to act out and instead become mostly normal citizens (and sometimes model ones). So Johnny's issues are more of the nature of personality defects than mental ones.
its the same with muting his phone before saying he would get people to r the girl in the white dress , how does he not realise if he did do what he said he would still be charged as if he did it himself
He said in one of his last videos that he can't afford not live streaming as he needs the money With each harassment his charges just keep piling up to a point where no apology will help him get out of the mess he's in

@@ILoveRedPandas95 I guess he literally has to survive on instant noodles everyday as that is the cheapest thing you can get there. But 4 months of instant ramen is still gonna rack up a decent amount of $.
1:40 The idea of government workers watching through Johnny's footage and typing up a grocery list of crimes they could charge him with is absolutely hilarious. But I also feel bad for the people who have to comb through all that footage as he still did a lot of truly infuriating stuff before they got him.
When I heard he was mocking the comfort woman statues my jaw dropped. I spent about 7 months in Seoul, and very quickly learned how seriously they take that issue. Of ALL the things to do, he disrespected what might be the most sacred social/historical issue in modern Korea. It would be like mocking the tomb of the unknown soldier in Arlington, only in Korea you don't have American style freedom of speech. There they have limits. I don't know if he's been arrested for that specifically, but boy did that put a target on his back.
@@aznmochibunny not yet anyway. the stuff that is easy to prove without much evidence is what they're pushing right now. then once they establish a "history" they'll drop the big charges and it'll be much easier to secure a conviction.
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington has armed guards. They may not shoot Johnny Somali, but they could definitely mess him up. They’re pretty forceful with unruly tourists - even if just verbally which, given those soldiers and their demeanor, is usually enough.
1:25 he's not on any visa, because Americans are visa-exempt in South Korea 8:17 also, his trial has been rescheduled to 7 March 2025 (breaking news from Legal Mindset as of a few hours ago)
You mean they automatically allow up to 90 days? That's still technically a visa. They don't require Americans to apply at the embassy in advance for up to 90 days to visit relatives or tourism.
honestly he has no morals so there would be a chance of him just becoming a propagandist and having a decent life, at least untill his last remaining brain cell tells him to insult kimmy
They're dragging his case on purpose (as explained by Legalmindset on one of his vids) or because of the political situation over there. Either way, he's gonna be stuck there longer and we won't be hearing from him for a very long time.
Doesn't he only have, like, 300 viewers on average? It's probably up due to all the South Koreans keeping tabs on him and his crimes, but it can't be making him THAT much money. I like the idea of him having to resort to more and more crimes while he's desperately trying to keep a place to sleep and things to eat. He'll push it too far and then it's stream ended.
9:00 I think youve misunderstood what happened to Johnny in Japan. He was CONVICTED. He is a convicted felon in Japan, and can never go there again. The fact that Japan sentenced him to "time served" simply reflects the underlying purpose of law enforcement and justice in Japan: To maintain order. Japan isnt into heavy punitive sentences (even for things like homocide) unless the criminal is viewed as a permanent risk to society. In most cases the focus is on ensuring that ... whatever happened ... doesnt happen again. From Japan's perspective Johnny is no longer a problem. He cant go to Japan again. Ever. Problem solved. In fact (on edit), he even helped the Japanese authorities get a new law passed that heavily restricts the abilities of livestreamers to create public spectacles. Korea is a bit of a different society. They like to see people PUNISHED. Even when its their own politicians who get punished. He is going to do some hard time. At least he will learn how to pick vegetables.
Korea's sentencing is super pathetic, and the human rights movement has made so much inroads that criminals are seen as victims of the real victims. It's bad. But Johnny is going to get at least a few months.
I’m sending my 13 yr old this channel and making him watch all the ppl ruining their lives for attention. Thanks for doin what you do. You actually contribute to society.
His trial date in Korea is delayed to march 2025 possibly due to additional charges he's collecting like infinity stones. I think the prosecutor on his case is really cooking
I love that he doesn’t realize how patriotic the average South Korean person is and him praising the North and China is gonna gonna make even the lawyer that’s supposed to represent him want to throw the case and not even TRY to help him 😭
Honestly, what's a defense lawyer even supposed to do in a case like this? Even if he didn't praise NK, what kind of defense can you make when he just keeps uploading more and more evidence against himself? Like you can't even claim insanity or a lack of awareness because he very clearly knows what he's doing.
@@maidenreligion12 Johnny will probably use his usual defense of "I'm American" lol. If he praises NK so much, why don't they just send him there. He'll love it! :3

Same though apparently due to more dark skinned people going to Japan they are considering being less restrictive since they are seeing few problems from foreigners
It's foreigners in general- some old white guy carved his family's initials into a fucking shinto shrine like an 8 year old. Recently (within the last couple years) there's a certain area that used to accomodate foreigners as a tourist destination focused on medieval/samurai era Japan, now it's mostly only open to locals. It's a shame that Japan was already a bit xenophobic, because now we're giving them every reason to keep it up.
lol that's sad and funny, but also true.. considering Ramsey Khalid Ismael(Johnny Somali) is the one of the most hated in the world.. and for obvious reasons.
I figure this is a really, really close contest. At the same time, Johnny opted to do this to be a troll, ultimately, whereas the prime minister sat on her hands or lied as children drowned.
11:39 "You're not gonna catch me alive." Well, I think most koreans would agree with that statement with a whole different reason. They just need to text Rainbolt and you're cooked mate
It would be fantastic if he was taught that being an idiot and committing crimes outside one's home country doesn't play out the way he thinks it would if he were 'back home'. I'm actually a bit disappointed when he was given a break in Japan, as he would've learned just how to live a very controlled life in Japanese prisons. I am a bit relieved Korea is 'making sure they fully investigate all available information', while allowing the clown to continue providing even more to load up that increasing list of crimes. All while forcing him to cover his own expenses while continuing to 'dig his own grave'. The US Embassy should remain as nothing more than an 'observer', with no additional aid given.
I don't really blame Japan for just kicking him out. Its easy to forget, but his antics in Japan were far less disruptive and there was no real indication that his apology was as insulting as it was. I doubt anyone ever thought it was really genuine, but no one expected him to just turn it around and insult the country. Japan assumed he was just another asshole forgener, so they didn't waste the time or money it would require to lock him up. Unfortunately, it just galvanised him to escalate his bullshit and led to his actions in Korea.

Considering what NK did to an American who (as they claim) tore down a poster of Kim Jong, I don't even wanna imagine what they'd do to someone like Johnny.
The clown wouldn't last a day in North Korea. All he has to do is say anything slightly wrong about the Man Child in charge there, & he could end up like Otto Warburton. Please correct me if I'm misremembering the name of the poor gentleman who was the unfortunate victim of NKs brutal "legal system". I mean no disrespect to him, I just couldn't remember his name accurately.
It is not fair how he treats anybody else. So? Korea can jail him as long as needed to bankrupt him. I hope Korea goes after the money made on videos too.
Johnny does not understand how hard it is to get across the DMZ. With the unknown amount of land mines, walls and walls of barbwire, you still need to get by all the soldiers with rifles that will shoot from both sides just because you are in there.
They've got that building that connects the two countries, but it is HEAVILY guarded. Maybe, if he had enough money, he could pay a fishing vessel to dump him close enough to the shore so he could swim? I know literally nothing about how that whole system works. He should try regardless!
Also not counting the fact that if by some miracle he managed to go through it, he would 100% get arrested, interrogated and put in jail and again if he somehow manage to avoid that he can't post stuff on Internet since NK have their own limited Internet that doesn't have access to any kinda of social media.
i feel like it'd be easier to survive crossing into north korea instead of out of it. the north korean soldiers are supposed to prevent people getting out of north korea, but i don't think they've had to prevent many people from getting into it. if you tried to get into north korea and you were obviously unarmed, you're more likely to be captured than killed compared to if you were trying to get out of it
@@cvspvr Landmines don't care if you're armed or not and millions are planted all across the DMZ. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a lot of South Koreans who would volunteer to help him go north though

@technomage6736 "This is Chewbacca. He lives on Endor... what does he do there? How did he get there? It doesn't make sense. And if that doesn't make sense my trial makes no sense. If Chewbacca living on Endor doesn't make sense, the jury has to acquit".
They jailed a guy for punching him. Nobody is going to throw their life away by ending him. That's why he doesn't do this in the US. He knows he wouldn't survive.
Ramsey Khalid Ismael really seems like the epitome of this weird trend I've seen in some younger people, an almost complete lack of understanding of consequences, an overall decoupling from reality overall, and a narcissistic complex that would make Emperor Nero blush. These kind of people are dangerous, as they seem to just view everyone and everything else as something that exists purely for either their amusment or explotation. As such I hope not only in this case, but that we see a lot more direct and legal consequencs for nuisance streamers and their ilk overall. As this is something that must be pushed back against hard, and thankfully South Korea is doing just that :)
The problem with western nations is that the whole "But human rights!" thing keeps coming up. Some people aren't human beings, just animals in human skin.
I love the line "they want to silence me, murder me, and then put me in jail", that is priceless. It reminds me of an old Zucker Brothers movie where the villain has one of his henchmen beheaded and then says "now take him to be tortured".

Agreed, surprised this behavior is being allowed!
agreed, he doesn't look intimidating either so i don't understand how he hasn't been put down yet.
Genuinely, innocent people are getting murdered everyday but hes still walking around
Most counties don’t believe in killing people to solve issues.
They jailed a guy for punching him. Nobody is going to throw their life away by ending him. That's why he doesn't do this in the US. He knows he wouldn't survive.
I will be celebrating when they finally hold this creepy, awful person accountable. He is so awful I have no words.
We call em “iPad kids”.
@@dannylamb456its the human rights, not the money-chasing? Who would have known!
I love the line "they want to silence me, murder me, and then put me in jail", that is priceless. It reminds me of an old Zucker Brothers movie where the villain has one of his henchmen beheaded and then says "now take him to be tortured".
