BREAKING NEWS: The trial of Ramsey Khalid Ismael (Johnny Somali) has been moved from December 20, 2024 to MARCH 2025.
This is big news with huge implications. We will discuss on my next live, along with the hilarious fact that Ramsey is likely learning this from my posts before hearing from his own lawyer.

I lived in Korea for a few years so I know the culture more than most. I can read and write Korean, even if I don't understand much.
    1. Korea is a racially homogeneous country, not a multicultural one, so their attitudes towards people of African descent can often be based on negative stereotypes from the media. That won't go in his favour.
    2. The first time a Korean told me about the comfort women, she wept in grief. Mocking that pain is the stupidest thing. It's not about 'national pride' or anything like that. It's about a shared emotional wound.
    3. The Korean legal system is not friendly to foreigners. He clearly thought Korea would be Japan 2.0, but he underestimated how much more direct and blunt Korean culture has rhe potential to be. He's in for a rude awakening.

Somali very clearly indicates in his videos that he's well aware that he doing 'wrong' things, and the very fact that he obeys he other legal prohibitions shows he COULD control himself if he wanted to. Or, to put it another way, there are people who are psychopaths but who don't choose to act out and instead become mostly normal citizens (and sometimes model ones). 9:00 I think youve misunderstood what happened to Johnny in Japan. He was CONVICTED. He is a convicted felon in Japan, and can never go there again.
The fact that Japan sentenced him to "time served" simply reflects the underlying purpose of law enforcement and justice in Japan: To maintain order.
Japan isnt into heavy punitive sentences (even for things like homocide) unless the criminal is viewed as a permanent risk to society. In most cases the focus is on ensuring that ... whatever happened ... doesnt happen again. From Japan's perspective Johnny is no longer a problem. He cant go to Japan again. Ever. Problem solved. In fact (on edit), he even helped the Japanese authorities get a new law passed that heavily restricts the abilities of livestreamers to create public spectacles.
Korea is a bit of a different society. They like to see people PUNISHED. Even when its their own politicians who get punished. He is going to do some hard time.

I don't really blame Japan for just kicking him out. Its easy to forget, but his antics in Japan were far less disruptive and there was no real indication that his apology was as insulting as it was. I doubt anyone ever thought it was really genuine, but no one expected him to just turn it around and insult the country. Japan assumed he was just another asshole forgener, so they didn't waste the time or money it would require to lock him up. Unfortunately, it just galvanised him to escalate his bullshit and led to his actions in Korea.

They jailed a guy for punching him. Nobody is going to throw their life away by ending him. That's why he doesn't do this in the US. He knows he wouldn't survive.

I will be celebrating when they finally hold this creepy, awful person accountable. He is so awful I have no words.

Ramsey Khalid Ismael really seems like the epitome of this weird trend I've seen in some younger people, an almost complete lack of understanding of consequences, an overall decoupling from reality overall, and a narcissistic complex that would make Emperor Nero blush.
These kind of people are dangerous, as they seem to just view everyone and everything else as something that exists purely for either their amusment or explotation. As such I hope not only in this case, but that we see a lot more direct and legal consequencs for nuisance streamers and their ilk overall.
As this is something that must be pushed back against hard, and thankfully South Korea is doing just that :)

The problem with western nations is that the whole "But human rights!" thing keeps coming up. Some people aren't human beings, just animals in human skin.

I love the line "they want to silence me, murder me, and then put me in jail", that is priceless. It reminds me of an old Zucker Brothers movie where the villain has one of his henchmen beheaded and then says "now take him to be tortured".
