Love Percy, he's such a softy underneath it all. Him offering to help Sally, and saying thanks for not making him feel old and interfering, adorable.
❤
LOVE these old episodes!! Thankyou SO much for sharing ❤
Whatever happened to Coronation Street. Since I have been watching it in the late 70s through 80s and 90s. There has always been lots of humor and great storylines.
Now it's just Violence and affairs left right and center. I don't know about you, but it was so much better back then. I have to admit I haven't watched it for years now.
Sorry but I long for The Good Old Days again on The Street 👍📺
You’re singing to the choir here William, those Podmore years 76-84 mainly were absolutely magical.. it’s been a pleasure to relive those years on @ProfessionalGun66’s channel, I only wish I could erase my memory and start it all again. I only started uploading the continuing years as there seemed to be a fair bit of demand for it. When you watch it in this “box set” form you can’t help but notice through the 90s the stark drop in quality… the humour dies and the drama kicks in… NOT what Corrie should be about IMHO.
I've seen some of Episodes from when it started in the 60s on UA-cam. Being to young to see them first time around, only being born in 1968.
Even back then in the early years it was a great Soap to watch 📺
I feel the same, I will be going back to 1974 again soon
Same as me I watched it for years and years but not watched it for a long time now
I never watch it now.rubbish.
Thank you so much for these wonderful episodes.
Oh dear. We're entering the "R Terry" phase.
R tiri
Alf does remind me of Arkwright played by Ronnie Barker in "Open All Hours" at times 🤣😂
He was scared to part with his money also lol 😂
Joke of January, Jack - "Eventually I got a clapped out banger, not a car, our Vera!" lololol.
Yes, Dawn Acton was great as Tracy, and the little girl who played Sarah Louise was adorable
They were always telling the little girl to shutup, calling her stupid or to go away. Literally Gail, Martin, Nicky, on every bit where she has a speaking part. Poor lass 😬
You've got to be kidding....she was a terrible actress and her voice....
This was Coronation Street at its very best....
Tracey just wants any excuse to b a little slag, and grows up to b a proper scum-bag.
Totally agree
Maggie was always nasty using mark as a weapon against Mike.
Agreed she and Susan only cut out Mike to spite him and ended up hurting their kids in the process
Lisa: Maggie had no spark. Very dull, could not understand mike and ken fighting over her.
@@lucyjane103 Not to mention how odd-looking she is.
@@bibakroll8999 hmm, tbf she did have a certain quirk to her, a bit of luster in her eyes when she first came on the show. Not pretty, but certainly not ugly. Age kinda blunt it all down I guess.
Interesting how she insults Deidre for having anything to do with Mike Baldwin... as if she herself didn't have a son by him! 🤣
'If you fire enough bullets, you're bound to hit t'target' - Phyllis is brilliant
Mike led a very complicated life especially the fact all his kids didn't know he was their dad at first
Tracy Barlow would've been disintegrated if she was my sister and spoke to my mum like that same goes for Nicky Platt stealing money.
I couldn't (wouldn't) have spoken to either of my parents the way she does - not at any age!
@@bibakroll8999 My mum would've scattered Tracey over Scotland.
While viewing a new flat, Carmel's cringeworthy attempts at seduction fall flat with Martin; whereas Denise has more success luring Doug, Reg and Jack into making complete fools of themselves.
Deidre takes absolutely no accountability, mikes child was not her secret to tell tracy,it caused domino effect that unearthed her secrets she thought was hidden for all eternity!😂😂😂
Sally is so DIM. She drives me up the wall like no other.
Agreed mostly, although I was impressed by how uncharacteristically perceptive she was about the nightmare nanny.
80s90s was great intv & movie 🎥
Thanks for sharing ☺️
When Audrey gets hit by the car slow the speed to 0.25x you get a good look at the stunt women who doesn't look too much like her and is at least 10 years younger.
Bit like when Rita was wearing that big leather bin bag and she was running away, dodging cars when she was being chased by Alan. Was such an obvious stunt person 😅
They did well when they cast Mark. He looks very much like Baldwin.
Was thinking the same thing 👍
Looks to me as if he could grow up to be Sam Allardyce.
He also looks like a good match for the later Paul Fox who takes over the roll a few years later
Traceyluv Barlow...words are beyond me!
Maggie looks like Pickle from Knightmare
Doug was crazy letting Tracy cash that cheque, it could only lead to trouble. If he had asked Jaxk Duckworth to do it and promised him £100 for his trouble he'd have done it in a heartbeat!
Hmmmm....Suddenly the road on Coronation Street has become crazy busy with traffic and I wonder why. Could it be for an up-coming storyline? Hmmmm.......I remember now.
Pretty weird. One moment it’s a quiet street, the next it’s a roaring motorway. Somewhere, sometime, the scriptwriters totally lost it!
My mum would've seen to it that Tracey got proper therapy, to cure her of her problems.
Oh aye, plenty of going to casualty, in an ambulance therapy. If that failed, Tracey would get the "leaving the family home, for the last time, through the front- window, therapy. "
Same with me and my sister my mum would've scattered Tracey over Scotland especially Shouting in Deidre's face like that.
SLAPPING Tracy; one time is not enough. Should at least be 4 times!
The hypocrisy of Ken when he knows all too well that his first "flirt" was with that young assistant at his newspaper that caused Diedre to even consider Mike. Ken always plays the high road.
Him and Maggie Redman were well suited she was a nasty spiteful bitch I wish he had ran away with her no not good old Ken we are still suffering him 31 years later
I came to say that. He should have been clear his later affair had nothing to do with Deirdre and Mike. And Deirdre was willing to let him stay after she found out, he chose to spend NYE with Wendy and move out.
"RottenCowinTart" Hahaha legendary
Ken still hating Mike as though Mike went for deidre and not deidre went for Mike, not to mention how he mocked about with the said marriage tell he burned it to the ground! Vera believing Terry is an angel of light while hurting everything they touch is wild!😂😂😂😂
Same old des rushes in every time he gets a woman in his life....
A trait that leads to absolute heartbreak...so I hear 🙈😂
The camera work is different, they are panning in closely on faces.
I was only a few months around this time, I do remember a few characters when I was old enough, I liked Des Barnes when I was young, after watching this, wish him & Lisa got that happily ever after
One of the things I notice about this era is how junk food had crept into people's diets. Stan and Hilda et al ate bacon and eggs for breakfast and a stew or even fish and chips for tea. Pies and fish and chips are not exactly healthy eating but for working men it was good solid food, made from scratch and the chips were cooked in lard not highly inflamatory cooking oil. By the 90's they were eating highly processed food; fake butter, Cocoa pops for breakfast and other processed foods out of boxes for tea - high carb and high sugar. Its not surprising that people now are riddled with cancer and other so called degenerative diseases.

I’m glad Carmel was kicked out by Gail it was nasty what she done trying to split up a family! (Home wrecker) well I’m glad Gail Did what she had to do and believe her husband!
Gail must’ve been blind not see the effect that strumpet was having on her husband under her own roof.
It's irritating me that, like everyone else, Gail was clueless about what was happening under her own roof (despite early warnings from Sally), then realized after the fact that she was clueless... but will continue to be clueless going forward. No one ever seems to learn from their mistakes.
Gail was clueless with Hillman too@@lynnem3300
Mavis, holier than thou when she was carrying on with Derik whilst he was married! 🙄
Whoever in production decorated Lisa’s parents house where spot on !! ….. very ‘Blackpool’ ! !🤔🤣👍
Come in to my Web said The Spider to The Fly Three Times 😂😂😂😂 Classic Scene
How Nasty Is Vera...!
Absolutely. She is at this point. Very much blind to her own son's faults. That scene where she calls him scum in the Rovers wasn't very nice. I don't understand Bet telling Des to drink up either. Vera was the one coming in shouting her mouth off. Des did nothing.
She always gets away with it as well. People tip toe around her and let her say, do and act as she pleases. Jack (although no saint himself) allows her to abuse him constantly. The only person who used to give her a telling off was Mike when she worked for him, and she was constantly shooting her mouth off and acting as she liked, he even fired her a few times and then got hounded into letting her go back.
i'm kinda watching these at random order dates and i chose this deliberately because i loved 16 year old tracy. dawn played her so well. i doubt she could have played tracy in 2021 the same as kate though
4:51:13....I see the scriptwriters have been letting their kids write their scripts again .....🤣15 year old Tracey can cash a cheque for £2000 into her account absolutely no questions asked and the cashier shows no emotion whatsoever £2000 in 1993 would be worth about £4,500 today.
😅
Yes and all the fuss about Jack and his trouble with being paid by cheque
Praise the lord dreary only had one kid because if any of mine spoke to me like that they wouldn't have seen the light of day, sorry Deidre but as a parent you'd have made a bloody good jam jar 🤣
Deirdre is useless and clueless in every way.
Vera's aim us about as accurate as a myopic goose. 😀
3:31:42 little did Mike know he had another son living with his ex wife in Scotland and his nephew was also his son
Who was the nephew
@tina quinn Danny Baldwin played by comedian Bradley Walsh 2004-06
@@EveHenleySpread oh yeah I forgot him thanks 👍
Is Raquel joining the awful 'frizzy hair brigade?'
The Steve and Vicky stuff is so boring, but nothing is as bad as the scenes with Tracey in. God! That voice.
I know, her gob could stop a clock. She has all the stage presence of a coal bucket.
I don't know which is worse, Dawn Aton's voice or her acting.
@@bibakroll8999 the accent.
@@bibakroll8999both!
All this traffic is cracking me the hell up 😂
1:45:20 not ashamed to say I cheered 🎉😂
Pity I couldn't follow it up with a rendition of 'Ding Dong the Witch is Dead'!
Dont gails kids know how to say please such bad manners
Ken mocking Raquel about being a teacher…..a little weird coming from one of those types of people who tell all kids that they can be ANYTHING they want when they grow up.
It’s absolutely untrue, some people don’t have the aptitude for some jobs and no matter how hard they work it just won’t happen. But the lie sounds good and makes people feel warm and fuzzy inside. Since feelings are the most important thing now, we set kids up for failure. Ken is absolutely one of those people. Seeing him laugh at Raquel was a strange moment. He pretends he is one way but in reality he is a pompous jerk who thinks he is superior to just about everyone. I really really really dislike him…..a lot.
Agreed 👍
I mean he is spot on but there's more tactful ways 😂 his character really highlights the liberal socialist caring-sharing type though. They really are the embodiment of what they propose to oppose.
I would probably get the school permanently shut down if I had ever become a teacher. I remember how some people used to act/ treat the teachers in secondary school. College is the point where everyone starts to grow up.
1:58:8 derdie slaps tracey
Sally's little girls legs must be cold it is the middle of winter
Martin is nasty, always on the verge of anger, and rather coarse ...
If i would have spoken to my mother like Tracy did she would have knocked me into next week! Or i would have to duck before i got a flying slipper across my head
There were never any repercussions for TracyLuv, she never got any boundaries set and consequences for her actions. Ken and Deirdre were truly awful parents, selfish and neglectful when she was younger, and weak and inefficient when she was in her teens.
1:16:49 Did Jack say 'all I had was a little rubber tyre I used to pull down the street'?! 😂😂
So just to be clear, Des Barnes gets beaten up by Terry Duckworth's hired goons just for being friends with Lisa.
And NOW Des is going to install Lisa in his house - right across the street from Vera and Jack....but gives no thought to his own or Lisa's safety.
CSA was launched in 5th April 1993 three months after this episode so i'll laugh if Maggie tries to get payments from Mike.
THEY ONLY HAVE 1 NEWS PAPER USED IN 2+ EPISODES IT HAS FA BLIZTS ON THE BACK PAGE
Watching this and now 30 years later is like night and day all the humour is gone and the cast just look bored it needs a cull.
Back in these days, there were fewer episodes a week which made it more eventful to watch and allowed cast more quality rehearsal time. Their biggest mistake was raising the number of episodes broadcast a week.
Alma is such a mess when it comes to Mike. She has no confidence, and he invades every aspect of her life. So annoying hearing her go on and on.
Vera would take anyone in who snagged her son Terry she was obsessed.
4:38:55 what sort of black magic is that? A wall switch for 1 lamp 😮
Thanks for the memories ( Tracy needs a coming to Jesus meeting it will straighten her )
Mr sugdin
Kid on the right reading Playboy at 04:26:24 😆
I wonder what these brussel sprouts are made of, we don't peel them in Canada.
Speak for yourself! I'm in Canada and most certainly peel mine.
I'm a lazy twonk and buy frozen 🤣
@@christinefougere The outer leaves and the stem stump.
@@sassy-cat LOl but what is there to peel? That's what I don't get, just cut the end off and they are ready to eat. Or do you take them all apart and have little leaves?
That guys sitting in the cafe looks very like Allen Bradley it's not him of course just similar
Maggie said look what your family has done ! No she is the one that lied and told mark someone else was his father, its up to her.
26:18 and that day was the 17th April 2006
37:00 Who does Sally think she is with that hairdo? Princess Anne?
When does someone click Vera, getting on my last nerve!
Give credit to the script writers of this error, they weave such a wonderful tongue in cheek humour unlike the seriousness of today. Mavis comparing Terry Duckworth to a Gerbal and "Mickey Mouse Diploma"
Ken should be put down.
Tragic with Liz at grave of bairn at 9.30mins.
2:58:39 That's me Jam
Jacks a randy old goat on the quiet.
I love the nerve of Rita putting down other women's husbands/boyfriends when her own taste in men was abysmal. Rita is one of those characters i've never really warmed to that much (but i give credit where its due and i did think she was good in the Alan Bradley story and way too tolerant of Jenny) and i feel her status as a Corrie legend is more to do with her longevity than actually being that good a character. Still though she is better than that awful Vera Duckworth.
Playing with fire there Des. Either get your brain out of your boxers, ditch the on the rebound blues or get good health insurance, learn self defence and be prepared to move to New Zealand at a moments notice. Well done Tracy luv, you may have taken the edge off of any upset, grief and torment Mark felt when he thought he had lost his dad? I, abhor secrets, as much as lies. Especially dirty, smutty ones. By 'eck mother... more trouble at yonder Mill. 👀🤦♂😜
Never liked that denise
Die bril van Jack begint me erg te Irriteren!! 🤐
The predictive text rendered a typo in my previous post. I meant that Sally would look very fetching in a SEE-through body sock. Percy’s right - she is prettier than Madonna! 😍
I just can't watch the scenes with Tracy. She's unbearable and unwatchable.
Whilst she did have an attitude back then, she probably wasn't as bad back then compared to what she was like from 2000 onwards. But I guess, when you look at her father, Ray, who was a bit of a Jack the Lad, it's easy to see where she gets it.
Vera Duckworth is the best thing to Corrie!
Sally's LOVELY!!!
But why, oh why, have the directors decided that babies and toddlers need horrible, hideous dummies stuck in their mouths? In one episode, Lisa was even wielding a feeding bottle towards Tom's mouth but he was prevented from drinking by the monstrosity stuck between his poor little lips!!
AND, couldn't actors please have been instructed on how to hold a baby?
Maggie's not right for Ken and sorry but her hair's awful! It does nothing for her.
Rant over!
I still say, Sally's LOVELY, excelling in the scene with Percy, along with Rita, she's a favourite.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Sally in a sea-through body sock 😍
1:45:19 😂
Tracey gets on my nerves..If I talked to my Mother like that..Whew! Not the sane Coro as before, too niggly now..not the same friendly atmosphere..
I hope.the actress who plays raquel.isn't that stupid in real life!
She’s not stupid at all, she’s a brilliant actress and has played some great roles.
Sarah Lancashire is a national treasure.
Watch Happy Valley and then reprise your statement.....Sarah Lancaster is one of our best actresses.
The fact she can make you believe she is dim.proves the good actress she is
She is still collecting awards to this day, a very well known British television actress.
