Yeah, make another video about LANDR Distribution. I have tons of plugins, but the Distribution Pro plan for $44.99 a year is what I think I will get. Go into the "terms and conditions" located in the "Legals" section at the bottom of the page. When an artist signs up with one of the distribution companies, they need to know what it says in the contract they're signing with the distribution company.
Thanks Ryan! Also for mentioning how things work with the cover licensing! I would like to see a more into depth video on the music distribution part of Landr☺️
Purchased the Pro plan in January. Use it all the time. Took advantage of some of the plug ins and checked out some classes. Mainly use the mastering feature for all my created tracks. Makes such a difference from my original DAW track. Haven't used the sample feature yet and not sure if that is really something I want as I have a go to company I am very satisfied with. Distribution and/or collaboration are not in my picture yet. Focusing on two of my YT music channels as I am still in learning phase.
Thanks for this Ryan. I signed up with Distrokid, and put one song out so far. I don't like that they charge foe every little thing, then make you pay to keep your song live. Landr looks good.

Distrokid is the only distributor I've had a problem with so far. I've tried many and only had my tracks taken down on Distrokid. This is, of course, my own personal experience.

I would love to see a deep dive into distribution, including a walkthrough of everything involved in an album release (artwork/graphics, scheduling, etc). And can you explain some of the Pro features?
Back about 4 years ago I used Landr for two different bands and had to switch away from them for one of the bands immediately because Landr posted our first song under a different artist and I could never get it changed. I would email them and contact them through the contact us on the website, but I could never get ahold of anybody to talk to in person about getting the situation corrected; and although they would respond to both the emails and the contact us correspondence and say they were going to get the posting corrected, they never did correct it. So, I had to drop them for this one band and redistribute through someone else so we had our song under our band name. Again, that was about 4 years ago so maybe their help is better now!? I also ended up redistributing the other band just because at the time I didn't want two services to have to handle, but otherwise Landr was good.

A few things I’m trying to find out, perhaps you can direct me to a video or make some new content: 1. What is the music licensing process I need to follow before/during etc. releasing on Landr? 2. Do you have a detailed description of how to actually release on the platform (what are the steps and requirements, how do they integrate with diff platforms like Spotify, apple etc)
Yes! Both of your questions should be answered by this video: LANDR Music Upload Tutorial for Originals and Covers ua-cam.com/video/2aoeF22l8ec/v-deo.html
Sure thing! With the Landr sample library, you don't have to clear any of the samples. Your subscription to Landr is your license to use these samples in your tracks. For outside samples, you'll need to clear the sample directly with the controlling publisher before you distribute. This is the way for every distributor to my knowledge.
Hi! I know sometimes people get there songs removed from Spotify from false copyright strikes, false bot streams (that the artists themselves did not buy or setup), and etc. how does one go about being able to put their music back up onto Spotify if all there songs get removed unfairly? Thanks
Thanks for your very informative video on Landr Studio! I signed up yesterday for the Studio Pro yearly version. They had 36% off but it was still $191. That probably won't renew at that rate. However, I need to ask about sound credit usage. Are the credits reissued monthly or yearly? Do you have to use them ALL up before they are reissued? I couldn't find anything on this. Thanks Ryan!
Great video! Quick question: Is it normal for LANDR support to not reply at all, even with a PRO distribution plan? Do you know of any other way to contact them for urgent issues?
Hi! If I pay for an annual subscription on LANDR but decide not to renew it next year, will my uploaded songs be removed from streaming platforms, or will they stay online? Thanks!
Hi Ryan, yes I would like a video ONLY on distribution for Landr,I do have a question can you use to different distribution places? I mean for 2 different albums or singles ? You dont have to be stuck with the same right? Thank you for all your videos.
Some say that it's okay to have more than one distributor... others say that it's bad and it confuses Spotify. In my experience, I've not had any problems using more than one distributor.
Hey I am looking to purchase the landr studio standard subscription. I am an artist myself, but I have a question how many primary artist will I be able to add to a song? Most of the songs I do generally include 2-3 people. Will this plan allow me to do that? Unlike distrokid who charges extra for adding additional artists?
Imagine the distress when everything is taken down because of a lapse in payment. The fact that LANDR arent chumps and just switch to the free plan should be mandatory lol thank you
I see at 14:18 that you can have 5 Artists. Is it available only under Distribution or also under der Studio Pro? Cant find anything on LANDR itself. Thank you 🙏
Awesome! Quick question: can you have 2 primary artists on a song that is not featured but instead both artist composed the song in a collab, can you use the Distribution Basic plan or do you need to pay $10 for the additional artist to be on the song as Primary instead of “Featured”?
That's a great question, pretty sure you can do that even on the lowest distribution tier. I show an example in this video here: ua-cam.com/video/2aoeF22l8ec/v-deo.htmlsi=i2UZJsSaPkmPn37X
Thanks I've been spending some time learning about these platforms to decide what will work best. I do have a question if I may. Once my distribution is set up it is then up to me to promote my songs and drive traffic to the platforms where people can purchase and use my music correct?
Great review! Is it also possible to switch distributors? All our tracks are now distributed via distrokid but I might consider switching to Landr as this sounds really attractive!
How do they handle lyrics upload? Is it extra for Spotify like it is on Distrokid? Also do you get a version of the mastering software to use in a DAW or just the Ai online version?
Great education video. So, If I make some music in Suno, say 20 songs, no cover song, just Suno, can I distribute all trough Landr and pay just the yearly fee?
Do Landr bills their users for Canada government taxes (their headquarters are in canada?) , deducting automaticly from your royalty gains, even for non-canadian users? I saw that Distrokid, which is based in NY has been doing that, charging 30% and it really sucks. For that I would never sign with them
Landr requires 14 days of lead time if you're scheduling a release in advance. They also have an "Release ASAP" feature that will get your songs in stores anywhere from 2-7 days. You don't get to set your release date using that mode.
Which distributors allow that? I'm pretty sure an ISRC is applied to a unique audio recording. Technically that would just be re-distribution if you got new audio and a new ISRC? Genuinely curious as to which distributor has this feature.
I'm pretty sure that UA-cam is releasing a feature where you can link your distributed music to your UA-cam channel. I'll have to check in on that more, but I think this is a youtube feature and not a distributor feature.
Does your distribution service come with a contract agreement... guaranteeing that the Artist will be paid royalties for the sales of his music? Will it say that in your terms and conditions ? Before uploading your music please read the terms and conditions!
That sounds nice, but will I risk the chance of getting accused of paying for fake streams on Spotify like DistroKid does? And also will it takes days before I can talk to someone if something happens to my songs? Honestly, this is what I hate about distribution services in general, they don't care about you and only want your money with the least support possible.
Problem fixed, thanks to Landr! Explanation in the comments afterward... ______ 😱 Landr..my devastating experience: 😆 got an entire archive with classic piano tracks + synthave tracks with over 300 songs. -choosed the pro plan - uploaded daily 5-8 tracks -after 2 weeks got the first message that my tracks won´t appear because the market for my musicstyle "is oversaturated" at the stores and that specific tracks are not allowed. -after asking whats the problem with my track, the answer was more direct...I uploaded too much in too short a time and the tracks are similar, which is quite common for classic-piano and synthwave tracks, furthermore this would be an indicator that I use samples By the way: The Pro-Plan says: Unlimited Uploads!! Now i ask myself how other Artists are getting legit, and smaller ones as I am are being just pushed beside with such "stpid" explanations... If this is the usual practice in the industry, then there won´t be any licensed electronic music like trance, techno, minimaltechno, vaporwave, dreamwave, ambient, synthwave and even classic-tracks, only becaus they all sound similar, they use similar beats, synth- or piano-sounds..
Oh wow, that's an incredible story. I'm sorry that happened. It definitely seems like you hit the limit for some kind of internal spam flag that they have. Were you able to continue uploading your music at a slower pace?
@@IndieMusicAcademy In any case, I was patient during the days of uploading because I knew that I would be uploading a lot, and so after about 2 weeks the customer service contacted me and briefly explained to me the "oversaturated market" and that certain songs would not be accepted, but that Landr had no problem with my tracks. I wasn't offered a license without distribution, the UA-cam content ID would have been great, but apparently they don't want to offer anything at all... Well, the fact that the person from customer service wrote that all synthwave songs sound similar shows me that there is someone in customer service who has no idea about this style of music, for others, for example, Mozart sounds just as good as Brahms, and yet they are different compositions... In short, I am accused of having uploaded songs in a short space of time that were produced with samples... The email discussion is still ongoing and I am waiting for the next replies, because I have confronted these facts with their service-team. And yes, I can still upload how much and whatever I want...but I will wait for a solution, because this is completely inappropriate to me, since so many "artists" are coming up with their licensed tracks on every corner, and landr is making it hard for newbies to enter any market, this behaviour is surely not the goal of a music-distributor, which on the first sight does not limit anything! P.S. if you know a distributor specifically for EDM, please let us know, because Landr was obviously a big flop for me. Thank you
@@IndieMusicAcademy Hello & short update... Everything is fine, the Landr-Team gave green light after I send them photos of my musicgear (software & hardware)... I am happy that we found a solution 👍

There are a couple ways, I cover that in this video here: ua-cam.com/video/2aoeF22l8ec/v-deo.htmlsi=i2UZJsSaPkmPn37X
Landr does have a premium support tier with real humans which is nice.
@@IndieMusicAcademy yeah, you convinced me of switching
Finally
The time has come!
Do they copyright your songs ?
They don't, you need to follow the instructions in this video: ua-cam.com/video/EB7iZlYvK-o/v-deo.htmlsi=LwvVHvSK78WMkf2v
Problem fixed, thanks to Landr!
Explanation in the comments afterward...
______
😱 Landr..my devastating experience: 😆
got an entire archive with classic piano tracks + synthave tracks with over 300 songs.
-choosed the pro plan
- uploaded daily 5-8 tracks
-after 2 weeks got the first message that my tracks won´t appear because the market for my musicstyle "is oversaturated" at the stores and that specific tracks are not allowed.
-after asking whats the problem with my track, the answer was more direct...I uploaded too much in too short a time and the tracks are similar, which is quite common for classic-piano and synthwave tracks, furthermore this would be an indicator that I use samples
By the way:
The Pro-Plan says: Unlimited Uploads!!
I am happy that we found a solution
👍
@@instantdislikechannel5699 what you said is same thing that happens with major distributors like TuneCore and Distrokid but instead they just give you Bot message, block you and say no refunds, nothing u can do about it but get scammed.
@@instantdislikechannel5699 what they said about samples does not even make sense, Landr them selves provide SAMPLES, these companies are just being annoying now because spotify has been sueing distributors because some of their users are using bot streams or stolen content
They are very hermetic with payments 🤔
This really feels like a commercial
it is indeed, landr is anything else than legit...
are you using some distributor which really works as they promiss in their membership.contract?
All I did was walk through their website and read the features 😂
@@instantdislikechannel5699Have you used Landr? What issues did you have? Looking to switch from DistroKid

Insane how much music has been enslaved
What do you mean?
It’s the complete opposite, music has been getting less enslaved as time went went on. Now we’re at a point where indie artists can make a living without going industry
Where can I hear your music? This distribution company seems like they charge way too many fees
