Stitching the waistband to help turn it in for the stitch in the ditch later is such a genius idea! I do this for fiddly hems but never thought of applying that anywhere else 😂 I'm such a ninny! Totally going to do this for my next shirt collar where this step is always giving me trouble.

In one of your past videos, you mentioned that you buy most of your fabric online. There are no fabric stores close to where I live now, so I am finding myself going online. It would really help if you did a video on buying fabric online.

I drafted this pattern (a first for me) and not sure I can do a zipper yet, so will add a bit more ease and make it elasticated. Not sure how to do this, but thinking that I would add some width to the waist. Fingers crossed x. Cute pattern and thank you for showing us.
Congrats and well done! To make it with elastic waist you will need to make sure it can go over your hips, to do that you can follow this circle skirt tutorial with elastic waist - ua-cam.com/video/AdqrXFg1cJ0/v-deo.html

Thank you! I didn't do a matching one, just because she really prefers cotton knit vs woven cotton, but I did make her a pair from a beautiful light blue butterfly print knit :) it is knee length and half circle one, with sparkly elastic, so it really looks like a skirt!

@@ThoughtfulCreativityDarn! Well I already drafted these culottes pattern and didnt notice the zipper until later, so I wanted to see if I just add a waist band and insert elastic to it if it will work?
@@dljrun63 it will only work in 2 cases - if your natural waist measurement is larger than your hips, that's if you use woven fabric with no stretch and 2) if you use knit that stretches enough to pull these past your hips. In elastic waist garments you need enough width at the top of your culottes (at the waist) to be able to pull them past your hips. If your hips are larger than your waist and you use fabric with no stretch - there is no way you can pull these through your hips no matter what elastic you add at the waist.

Sister could you please elaborate how to place the pattern exactly on the fabric in a detailed video so that we can learn the trick in which u mentioned about any length that we could take in the culottes pattern
Hello there, to draft any length culotte just follow the steps in the drafting video and take the length that You would like, measuring the same way, from the waist down. To cut the pattern, of any length, just follow the grainline when arranging your pattern on the fabric, detailed video for how to do that can be found in the description of this video.
