Because they dont even call themselves "country". They make a point of having a punk/rock vibe to everything they do. Its dance music. Its really a hybrid of a lot of different American music. You arent the first "non country" fan to fall for DM3 and you wont be the last. Good music is good music no matter what your a fan of. Rock fan hiphop fan, it doesnt matter DM3 will impress most people that hear them.

Here in 2022 to report that they haven't stopped being amazing. New album has a new texture, but it still has that spirit. This will always be a classic though.
Well then you are lucky. They now have 6 studio albums and various live stuff and at least a dozen songs that are as good as this one. Listen to Tow, Graveyard, do wrong right, gracefully facedown etc... I love these guys.

I love this band, I am fairly new as far as it comes to bluegrass/ country music, whatever you want to consider these guys, but they are incredible
