My guitar teacher showed this to me when I was like 15, my uncle who tought me how to actually play guitar on the countryside is now insanaly addicted to this show. He's almost 80 in a little island from South America(Chile) so I just wanna thank everyone that could get us closer to these guys, cheers brothers, I'm going there next year
This performance is what made me fall in love with the Devil Makes Three. I have listened to this so many times I can't count. It instantly puts me in a good place. Love to you all.
I love that at 30:35 Pete messes up the lyrics and then he and Cooper look at each other like "wtf". But then they improvise anyway and it sounds fantastic.
Even though this is 8 years ago, they still look much younger than I had thought they would be. Damn. Must've been some hard living to write those songs. I love this group

I'm still blown away that this gig is in a record shop. I've paid proper money at proper venues to see bands that come nowhere, and I mean nowhere, near this.
I saw them live once at golden gate park in sf and there were a billion people, and It was like a rave, every single person was dancing there ass off, with no drummer, it’s unheard of . Proper musicians and the dopest song writers

I drove all the way from Northern Saskatchewan Canada, to South Carolina and saw these guys in February. Nearly 4000km. JUST before COVID hit. Was the highlight of my trip and sooooo grateful I got the chance!!! Love love love this band. ❤
Twenty (?) years ago, walking down pacific ave And there's another band busking on the sidewalk, and as I get closer, I have the distinct feeling that I've heard them before, and that they are so incomprehensibly tight, and yet, foot-loose simultaneously, that I will inevitably be hearing them again, and again.... And here they are, my favorite acoustic band on this planet.....Amen!
I'm not sure this crowd understood how great this performance was....unless of course they were like me when I first heard them...as a metalhead by nature, I am not sure I should have been into these guys, but here I am convinced this is my favorite band.
This is the type of music that rips into my soul. The lyrics reflect on my way of life. "Cuz' everybody who is anybody, in my opinion, at one time lived in somebody's hallway " That line right there is incredible. Can't wait to see these guys May 11th. Going to. E one of those shows I'll remember the rest of my life. This is what music is all about. It sooths my soul. It takes the world away. I close my eyes and drift away into the past. It's a bittersweet sort of feeling. So so good.
I'm thankful for the time that I've found them, they are my favorite band since then! First time that I'm loving every single song of a band! Love ya folks!
i will always keep coming back to this one... Best heavy metal ever recorded. I intend to request them to play at my wake; sometime in the distant future.
banjomarkintexas I'm from Texas also. I'm a guitarist and when I play one of devil makes three songs, people love it. I can't believe they are not more popular.
Love this performance, i want their vinyls but in my country doesn't exist, i gonna try to buy them in Amazon or Ebay. Long live for The devil makes three. Regards from Chile
just amazing - has anybody the playlist / the name of the songs? most of them i found, but there are sad gaps ,-) thanks for anser never will get sick of it toooo ;-)))
Not really none of those bands are not really bluegrass The steel drivers are mostly Bluegrass the rest are string bands.I Like all of them, but there not carrying any genre.
Was going to say that it is hard to believe because it just doesn't feel like it. But I was just looking up if they were touring, and they're all from Vermont. The two guys are childhood friends traveled the country playing music and landed in Santa Cruz for a while, where they met Lucia who was going to college at the time.
This band is great!!! I saw them open for Flogging Molly, headed right to their booth after their set and bought 3 records. The hard part was trying to figure out which ones to get.
No kidding! I saw them in San Diego recently and could not believe how many people were there - all singing their songs. They sounded absolutely amazing live.
I love how in st James infirmary he sang the wrong part and they look at each other like oh shut. Yet they keep going and make it my favorite version of this song that they sing.

Wow , I'm a 61year old professional mariner, I stumbled on The Devil Makes 3. There is hope after all.
I have watched this for years now. It made me go watch them live 3 times. I’ll never get tired of it…it’s just as damn good as it gets.
I don’t think I’ll ever get to see them live anymore 😢
This performance is what made me fall in love with the Devil Makes Three. I have listened to this so many times I can't count. It instantly puts me in a good place. Love to you all.
Can we just stop and admire how in sync they are the whole show. still listening in 2020 because this is my favorite "live show" by them.
I love that at 30:35 Pete messes up the lyrics and then he and Cooper look at each other like "wtf". But then they improvise anyway and it sounds fantastic.
lol did they really? their looks made me lo after reading this comment
He sang the ending lyrics when he supposed to sing another verse, it wasn’t really improvisation or anything
Short version and long versions of the same song. Alot of musicians do short versions of songs when promoting shows and doing short gigs. :)
Even though this is 8 years ago, they still look much younger than I had thought they would be. Damn. Must've been some hard living to write those songs. I love this group
This performance of St. James Infirmary Blues is by far my favorite rendition of the song. They really should try to recreate it in a studio.
so much energy in this version
Cranking out that rhythm like they owe bad people money.
could not agree more
