Seeing my buddy's Note II for the first time, I was shocked at how massive it was since around that time me along with a majority of everyone else had "normal" sized smart phones. Got one myself eventually, and never wanted any other model. I then got a Note 4 maybe 4-5 years ago and it's still going, although its showing its age. Getting a Note 10 +, and I will see how it will go. Hooked on the Note, and never wanted any other model. Such a shame that this line has been discontinued.
Note II was an absolute monster of a phone and I loved it so much. At the time it was a real head turner, people told me nobody needs that big of a screen lmao
A year in the making of this historical review - this is a 10/10 for relevant information of each Galaxy and their brand's evolution in design, specification and market response. True journalistic integrity, true hard work and a lot of personal investment to make this happen. This is excellence, period. Thank you for putting this together. 1 question, now that you have all these models of Samsung: compare the phone signal reception trend. After all, while these devices are heavily resourced for entertainment and photos, they are still phones. How's the radio tech these days vs. earlier Galaxy models? How about testing phone radio reception of Samsung's models vs. close Apple approximations in different but commonly experienced reception-situations. I would like that very much - thank you!
Arun, it's such an awesome coincidence that the very first Note series phone that I own (my mum bought it for me when I was eight and now I'm 18) is also Samsung Galaxy Note 2. It was also the very first smartphone in my life. As a child, I was really fascinated by its software UI. I really loved that phone, still keeping it without the battery :) while I gave away or sold other phones that I don't use anymore.
Note 3 was my favorite phone ever. Had everything I wanted. Removable battery, IR Blaster, modular build. I had it for 5 years. I was able to replace the battery, usb port and even a broken screen. Flashed the rom later on to LineageOS and got more life out of it. Note 4 would have been the pinnacle if it wasn't for the screen burn-in. Wish someone would make a Flagship with all of these features again.
@@djoj1986 Well it worked with TVs, ait conditioners, stereos etc, like a bunch of things around the house where you have to keep multiple remotes for each one
It was late 2011. I had just entered 8th grade and I casually went to the network provider to pay my phone bill. They also have a shop and I used to stroll through the small aisle that displayed a few dozen models that they were selling. Galaxy S2 was there, another phone to drool after back then, its predecessor was still on sale, there were various manufacturers, making for a far more diverse offer (aesthetically at least). The mighty iPhone was there, almost like an alien device that nobody I knew would pay for. Walking slowly, I used to look at those flagships and daydream about owning one. Then, right at the end, on a shelf of its own, there it was. The Galaxy Note. It's only been 13 years, yet people have already forgotten the shock of seeing a phone of that size. At 5.3 inches, it was deemed barely usable. Today, a 6 inch phone is among the smallest. The pen was on display right next to it. The screen was gorgeous, smooth as silk, and immense. The camera was among the best. The battery was incredible. The feeling I had while holding it is hard to describe. It's like you're an entomologist and the rarest butterfly in the jungle lands in your palm for a few seconds. I remember putting it back. I remember every step from the way home. Yet I held back from asking for one. I was at that age when one starts to understand how important and fragile money is. One night, I even dreamed about receiving one as a gift. Few things can bring you memories without even owning or using them. A phone less than most. But for me, the Galaxy Note is THAT phone. I find myself in a sea of nostalgia, longing for simpler times. The world wasn't so fearful, money was still enough, technology was still a tool, rather than a companion that almost competes with us. I wish time stopped there. When life was good. When the Note launched.
The note 4 was my first phone, i absolutely loved it and stuck with Samsung, ive been a proud samsung user for about 6 years (im 15), im on my 3rd galaxy watch (active 1 > active 2 > galaxy watch 5 (current)), 3rd samsung phone (note 4 > S8 [the s8 was my all time fav] > The z flip 3 (current)), and i just got my 2nd pair of Galaxy buds (ive had the first gen of galaxy buds since 2019), i got the galaxy buds 2, and they are insane, samsung has never failed to impress me :)
Don't know about name tag(pro) but if someone would give me 100 pieces of iPhone 11pro max . I'd sell all of them and buy 100 pieces of any other companies✌️ just don't like apple products
Damn bro the Galaxy Notes, my mom had a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in 2013, she got a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in 2015 and gave the Note 2 to my dad and in 2018 she bought the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and gave the Note 4 to a friend of hers
0:47 I love how he tries to swipe down to reach the homescreen, because from the older version of androids, you had to press back or middle button to do so. You can't just swipe down, there was no designated function for that action.
I got the 2 a year after the release back in school. Where I live everyone was jealous 🤷♀️😂 I used it for 4.5 years, and now I have the note 8 almost for 3 years 🥰 reliable phones I can say
I remember laughing the first time I seen somebody using the Samsung Mega (about the same size as the note) because of how ridiculously huge it looked. Now my phone is larger and I can't go back.
@@job4032 it's late, i bought S9+ 4 months ago used for 285€ and that was best desicion ever, only 2 problems are linked to exynos, phone heats while playing games and battery is not fantastic, 4 hrs screen on time on WQHD+, but camera, speed, display, speakers, design, are incredible. I recommend this phone.
I got a Note 9 when it came out (I won't lie, I just wanted the Fortnite skin), and it's become such an important phone for me. I've had it for three years now, and I've decided it was better to 1) replace the battery and 2) replace the S-pen, instead of just upgrading the phone to a newer model. I honesty have no interest in upgrading for a while, and even when I do, I'll probably get a Flip or Fold rather than a Note.
I feel this way after upgrading from my S10+ to the the Note 20. I broke my S10+ and needed a new phone that day because of work. Biggest downgrade I've had.
My 19 year-old brother still has the galaxy s4. No matter how much I try to convince him, he still won’t buy a new phone. Edit: I take it back, it’s a s5. I should post a video
Does he have a stash of batteries? Because that's why. Only when the 10+ came out did I switch. It can genuinely handle 8+ hrs of browsing and retains another 20-30 percent to carry on the next day. Light use 35 percent on the note 10+ is equal in longevity as a stock note 4 battery with similar usage, at least to me.
Because of how much I don't care about modern smartphones if the Note 7 hadn't been a disaster that's probably what I would buy my phone died I'm currently using an s7 edge and I don't care for the curved screen everything else is fine I can get a case to cover the back glass that I don't like touching. Oh well the battery is not removable.
My NOTE 1 just died and i am trying to find another one. it was a DAMN good phone and i am spoiled on it. if anyone can help out it would be greatly appreciated
I had the Galaxy Note 8 longer than any of my other phones so far. I started with hand-me-down iPhones from my mother, but then I switched to that Note 8 (my mom also switched to a Galaxy S9+, and that was the last time she used any Apple phone, which was in 2018). Ended up keeping that Note 8 for little less than three years, until 2021, when it needed to be replaced, and I got the LG V60 ThinQ 5G UW, one of the last LG phones ever made. However, I only kept it for a little under two years, when I went back the Apple route with the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which is my current phone as of now.
@@ParveenKumar-jp4qp Yes, largely because it just works. Also, not a fan of the huge price increases of modern phones, or the lack of a replaceable battery. Still, it's going to have to happen.
I thought when Note 9 came out that it was the perfect phone, and I still think so. With Note 10, I didn't like the punch hole, no headphone jack etc, feels like they're removing features from a phone that should (and did) everything.
I still have and I'm upgrading but I hate that I am. Don't forget with the 10 and onwards they removed the led notification, I really really like that feature.

I really miss the IR Blaster. It was so useful.
Lol I just to remember using the ir blaster to change channels when I was at the bars or restaurants.
@@djoj1986 Well it worked with TVs, ait conditioners, stereos etc, like a bunch of things around the house where you have to keep multiple remotes for each one

Hi
Guys my mum told me if i reach 1000 subs i can get my dream gaming setup, So a little help would mean the world to me!🥺
It was late 2011.

Best video, had never soon all Samsung note phones like this before, you're on another level bro.
