We bought a Note 1 in early 2012. It was just mesmerizing. Some features were so good that I still miss them today. The "Live Wallpaper" was great! It was a picture of a beach where that changed according to the actual weather and day/night cycle of your location. Rainy days made your phone come alive. Crayon Physics was also a fun little game as shown. The S-pen was great of course. I stopped actively using the phone in 2017. 5 years! And even after it, I used to get back to it just for fun from time to time. It finally died in 2022. A whole 10 years later. It set the trend for phones in terms of increasing display size. Let's put into perspective. This device has 16Gb of storage, while using Android 2. This is like having an 1TB device today. Most of the entry level devices from the year this released had 500mb or 1GB of storage at best.
The note 2 was my favorite phone of all time, it replaced my computer. I sparked alot of conversations running 2 apps on the same screen. I rooted it and made the top speaker act like the phone had stereo sound (it didn't, the main sound came from the bottom only your calls came from the top speaker) There was sound mods for the s pen, when you pulled it out you can make it sound like a light Saber 😂. Was an awesome step forward for Sammy.

6:59 Samsung Mini Diary 😭😭
That one gives me emotional damage. It WILL NOT sideload on newer phones, and since Samsung Notes doesn't allow us to change dates, we're left without a good first party Samsung diary/journal.
If Samsung stayed committed even long enough for Mini Diary to get updates in line with Android 6 (or even 5), it would likely clear the basic security recs and I wouldn't have to use some third party journal.
i'm now curious how did the first touch Samsung phone looked
this phone came with an AMOLED screen, built-in S-Pen and running Samsung's incredible TouchWiz
good old times:(
