I’m a sub and I have had moments where I want to cry. The level of disrespect is off the charts sometimes. Although I do notice that when you act confident, the kids respect you more. As a sub, it is hard since we don’t know how the class runs, the students’ personalities, etc., but universally... I think one thing remains true for all students.. they don’t know the sub either so it’s hard for them too. I try to think about it that way when they are being disrespectful. Although it isn’t justified for kids to be disrespectful for no reason, I do think as adults we have to also be respectful and never go into a classroom yelling at students. That is bizarre to me that a random sub would yell at students. But anyway, the job also has it’s rewarding moments. Like when you get a class that not only respects and listens to you, but that seems to care about your opinion and wants to learn even with a sub. I love those days!! And they motivate me to keep going.

I taught video at Highschool for a while, and had a male student much like Tequila. When I finally sent him to the principal, I thought the other kids would loose respect for me. The Principal advised me later, to through the boy completely out of my class, so he'd have to take a different course for the afternoon, and the next time the kid acted up, I did just that. Afterwards some of the other kids thanked me and the rest stood by, nodding. Except for this one boy who always kept to himself, never participated, but made the most wonderful little stop-motion films. Anyway, I find myself liking Tequila even though she really is a mean bitch. I think I like her, just because I know her, and that is a scary thing indeed!

I taught video at Highschool for a while, and had a male student much like Tequila. When I finally sent him to the principal, I thought the other kids would loose respect for me. The Principal advised me later, to through the boy completely out of my class, so he'd have to take a different course for the afternoon, and the next time the kid acted up, I did just that. Afterwards some of the other kids thanked me and the rest stood by, nodding. Except for this one boy who always kept to himself, never participated, but made the most wonderful little stop-motion films.
Anyway, I find myself liking Tequila even though she really is a mean bitch. I think I like her, just because I know her, and that is a scary thing indeed!
Ok but literally the other day a girl in my class had her phone ring and the teacher was like “I’ll just close my eyes and whoever it is just turn it off and it’s fine” but she just straight up answered and went “okay one second I’m just gonna answer this” so that was basically one of the weirdest English lessons I’d had
