I can't believe I never had seen this before, Aja is one of the best albums of all time engineered by Roger Nichols the greatest gift to audio recording. Thanks so much for posting this!
Man...Home At Last has become a real contender for my favorite song on Aja. It's so damn smooth. There's an automatic response to lean back and nod your head and you just sink into it like a plush, sonic recliner.
@@et2petty As big as the Beatles were, it would have come out somewhere, somehow that, Bernie "played" on any song or during a practice session at some point in time and most likely you would have heard it from Ringo first. Some musicians, have to pretend their egos are more important than reality. I don't believe Bernie's vainglory, fantasy either. He wasn't good enough to replace Ringo, that's the real story.
WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO SEE THEM HERE IN VEGAS A FEW YRS AGO&WE SAW THEM AT THE PEARL HERE IN TOWN!!!TOWARD THE END OF THE SHOW,THEY TURNED UP THE LITES&THERE WAS TONS OF OLD PEOPLE ALL AROUND US&MY WIFE&I WERE LAUGHING BCUZ THERE WERE ALL THESE WALKERS&STUFF&WE LAUGHED OUR ASSES OFF!!!REALLY GREAT CONCERT!!!
Love Donald's Black Cow monologue..."you were very high...you were HIGH!" LOL
This is incredible. I could watch these guys break down their music all day and never get tired of it. Such incredible talent.
It's hard to find a friend who will watch this kind of thing. When I try, after 5 minutes they're like, "what the hell are we watching?"
Whaaa
Get new friends 😆
This is the only band I can never get tired of.
ha ha Fagan is funny.. him rapping had me in tears...awsome
RIP Walter Becker ...You made me really LISTEN to music. You made a difference in my life.
Black Cow. Self explanitory. One of the best things ever put on a record.
Up town baby...we gets down baby..."it does sound familiar doesn't it?"

I loved the Uptown Baby part (Black Cow) sample. Too cool. @ 0:58

my brain: b.. but dude.. there are no fewer than 100 classic, must see movies that you've never watched..
my heart: yeah, but The Making of Aja..
The drummer on Black Cow was also the drummer the Lawrence Welk show....and Let's Get It On.
I was high when listening to this even without drugs.
These guys took Perfectionist to a whole new level..
You could go on for hours a man about the people he's played with this man drummer above everyone else
Must have "Jazz Chops"
definitely' a classic album I still bump it
BLESS YOU Donald ! :)
Bernard Purdie is the man!
Drum masterclass at 8:54. wow.
Each successive video part has fewer and fewer likes, but no dislikes. Filtering out the non-SteelyDanophiles.
Ian Dury and The Blockheads!!! HIT ME WITH YOUR RHYTHM STICK!!!
I use a Roland rd300 It's got a pretty cool Rhodes in there. Lots of other fantastic voices too. I had a Rhodes in the 80s but my Roland is the dogs.
5;45 music is both beautiful and brutal in its demand for talent And execution
I know this documentary.. off by heart ❤️ it’s awesome
love this song!!!
Ian Drury: " there are people who has read books and people that ain't read books"...
Yes, it's true. Mostly people that ain't read books.
Home at Last has become my favorite song
fucking fantastic song black cow
Classic
What happened to part 3?
White replacement
That sounds like the song 'Why can't we be Frineds' - very much the same hook. When were these 2 tunes written? there's a rip off afoot
WHy is Ian Dury commenting on Aja?
he was a huge steely dan fan, used to mention them a lot in interviews. ian dury is quite underrated, me thinks.
Dan Hintz
Dury was a great lyricist, and the Blockheads had "jazz chops" up the ass, as it were . . .
Bernie's a great drummer but he seems very smug. It's hard to tell if he's just being jovial or he really IS a prick.
he claims he ghost played on Beatles songs , not Ringo. I don't believe it.

I think Purdie's a GREAT drummer, don't understand the need for the bullshit. Maybe he finds it entertaining? Yawn!
