this seems to be a bit misleading... He didn't really gain power from the swap. He found out that he could use an NA v8 instead of a turbo inline 4. This would give him an advantage because v8 have very flat powerbands whereas turbo i4s dont have much power until they hit boost. So the car is much more predictable and easier to control in turns.
What about the bmw s65 engine it’s a 4.0 liter v8 that could be punched out another half a liter give you the same hp but cheaper and easier to get parts when needed
Honest question: does such an engine swap like this not completely imbalance the car? won’t there be a significant difference in how the car handles etc and how do they counteract this if needed?
The real question is how’s the weight, balance, and polar moment of inertia with a v8 sitting that far forward and high up when compared to a flat 6 that sits lower and further back… this would be like the difference in handling characteristics between a Scion FRS and an Audi RS4. Could be amazing… could be unruly.
