There are videos you watch and know they are good at there job and there are others you can pick almost strait away don't know what there doing really . T BONE is switched on and a great teacher top 5 for sure
Great video. Do everyone who watches a favor and wear some gloves when you use the carburetor cleaner OK? This is coming from a dude that messed with mowers for years and didn't ear gloves: CANCER HIT ME AND THE CONSTANT CHEMICAL CONTACT WAS PART OF ME GETTING CANCER. KEEP THE GREAT VIDEOS COMING
Good one as usual, T. That said, I have a couple of Bones to pick with you. (see what I did there?) 😉 Anyhow, once you’ve blown or sprayed off the carb, clean your hands! All it takes is one tiny bit of debris in the wrong place to clog up a carb and stop it from running correctly. Just sayin’! At 19:00 there is an oval plastic piece to the left of the screen on the cable. That piece needs to be slid up to the support bracket before inserting the straight side of the hairclip into the CORRECT hole. This will not only ensure correct tension of the cable but also prevent the hairclip from falling off. In the end it’s the little details that make the difference - just like your most excellent advice in most videos - “careful visual inspection, folks “!
What’s up T-bone? Thanks for sharing, man. I have learned a lot of stuff from watching your videos. I just bought a used 46 inch Husqvarna off of Facebook marketplace. The first thing I’ve done was take that solenoid off cut plunger and put an in-line fuel shut off.
Do the same job at Equipment Maintenance for the City of Lawton Oklahoma. Everyone would fix it and finally turn it in to my bay. The fixes were easy money but I would have to fix the fix. Everyone knew more than me until it went in my bay. Maybe that's why hard liquor calms after a shift. 😅 Mikel
@@RaleysSmallEngines any time! If I see something to question, I will ask and you will explain. Mind you, questionable is a subject because I use to race riders. My last one had to have drag bars. 3 gears and the front was up on every shift. Low drag mods in the transmission. Custom camshaft by me.... HUGE learning curve for that and many gifts to the God of Speed. Learned one trick. The old Briggs boxer engines had the same diameter flywheel as the 17/19 Cid one lungs. Two plugs (simple machine work) and it had a clash knock even on alky. What a freaking ride!!!! Mikel
Got a Kohler 25hp twin that starts cutting out after it warms up, and also give a loud backfire when shutting down. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It’s GOTTA be the shutoff solenoid failing or stuck!
JD relies on mandrel covers to keep the primary blade belt on the pulleys... hmmm how long do they last... belts rubbing plastic covers a recipe for disaster... my old Craftsman uses belt guides. Leave it to green and yellow for more wild ideas and engineering marvels. Seriously they're all junk now. Good vid T Bone
I use Wearever brake cleaner from Advance Auto. Be sure to to get the one that is Flammable. It has many uses, starting an engine, cleaning and drys super fast. Please be careful it can be dangerous also.
One thing I would like to know is that spring suppose to go into that slotted hole or is it go into a regular round hole? I have a deck like that one n have the same problem that spring being too loose with the cable.
I have a mower question. I put a new starter on my mower and a new solenoid but when the key is in the off position the starter kicks on and when the key is in the on position the starter kicks off. I thought I had the wires connected backwards but there's just a positive wire that goes from the solenoid to the starter. I've bought two different solenoids because I thought it was the wrong one but both of them did the same thing. What else could it be?
Hey, T-bone & Mrs. T. What's your thoughts on John Deere closing up shop & moving to Mexico ??. Hard to give a company your business. When they pull bonehead moves like this. A lot of people are going to lose their job. I say, going to build it there? Sell it there as well. I take my business elsewhere.

why didn't you clean the top of the carb?
Great question.
My son gas a johndeere rude on lawn mowers.
The mower belt always gets damaged & breaks
Remove the belt, check idler pulleys and spindles by feeling them and spinning them. Listening for bad bearings, hanging up etc.
