Pink Floyd created its own genre, they were truly masterful in using sound ,many including myself see their work as more of a journey, a Rollercoaster of emotions that make you think about life and the afterlife. Turn of the lights ,close your eyes and take a journey with these craftsman of sound .you really have to hear the continuation of the album . It's open to interpretation according to the band.

Well for me the machine is the music industry. Welcome guys you signed your big contract and it's time to deliver and but not necessary what you want but what we want you to do. You also Have a Cigar who is another title on this album. Roger Waters is a very intelligent writer. You listened from Pulse Comfortably Numb. He did a new version a few months ago like an apocalyptic one Comfortably Numb 2022, it's very good.

A Pink Floyd song, by its own, is generaly very hard to fully comprehend. To get a good understanding, you really have to listen to the full album, from begining to end.

The Machine is the system...the Machine breaks the mass...at the very end of the song, you take the industrial freight elevator from the depth and you step in a party of the happy fews, laughing and drinking champagne... the next song in the album is "Have a cigar"...

This song is almost 50 (!!!!) years old. I first listened to it, and most of Pink Floyd, almost 35 years ago. It sounded fresh to me then, and still sounds fresh. I always try to think of anyone else that sounds as fresh and current. Not just nostalgic feels of music from back in the day, but older music that feels as relevant now as it did way back then. I would say this music is somehow even more relevant today, still feels fresh. I know you said “groundbreaking” but I don’t know of another artist/band that has even gotten close to picking up that shovel

Thanks for your reaction bruh. You are very intelligent and curious 🙂This song feels like you are in a machine for real and the meaning can be so much. I hope someday you will be able to listen to their song "Shine On Crazy Diamond" (1-5). It's about their old singer Syd Barrett who had problems with drugs and mental problems 😕 He had to leave the band and that song is for him and if you have that in mind, then the song and the video hit even harder. It brings you to another world aswell. You'll see/hear 🤐 But you do what you want, just saying 😁 I like all your reactions because you are intelligent. Even on the "I am the Walrus" song. I never thought about that he really is rapping in a sense 😎

Thanks for reacting to this song. I appreciate that you are thoughtful about it. Pink Floyd are definitely one of the best groups ever. I love Pink Floyd Animals album, but sometimes listening to it can make me melancholy, I have to back off. True artists! and some of it is pretty deep.

The thing you gotta understand about oink Floyd to really grasp the meaning in their songs is listen to the whole album and watch the movies they made like the wall . There’s times i didn’t know where one song ended and another one began because they do such a good job blending them all into one theme that’s my favorite thing about them . Trust me on that listen to the whole album. Left a like because you didn’t just go with a most popular song and this really is a good song that most people miss . Great choice

The album is about the founder, lyricist, guitarist, vocalist, all around charismatic and universally loved Syd Barrett, a supernova brilliant musician who was crushed by the music industry (c.f. Have A Cigar). Contrary to popular belief, he did get better in time as he got further away from the music industry. Wish he coulda kept playing, but thankful he didn't end up like Cobain, another tragic superstar genius.

This is an homage to Syd Barrett. PF knew of his demons and tried to help him. This is one of the most telling songs to Syd. A beautiful Genius nut so fragile.

There's just nobody like Pink Floyd. It's terribly sad that Rick Wright died of cancer several years ago...he & David Gilmour were a PHENOMENAL team together.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the video because it's not a Pink Floyd authorized video, it's just someone who likes Pink Floyd and decided to make his own video to this song. In many cases the video just distracts from the music itself and people think the video reflects what the band was saying, but it doesn't..

  • @Christopher50now

Dude. Toke up and do a reaction to the entire album dark side of the moon. The whole thing then edit it how you want. But do that. Don’t ever stop the music you interrupt the chants of all they are throwing at your senses. So don’t pause just say what you feel and don’t interrupt these songs.

  • @nardj.5277

Great reaction. Please don't let you distract you by video's who are not original PF. Just close your eyes en let the music flow in. Except the live concert songs of cours 😉. Keep up the good work!

Concerning Syd Barrett . "Until his death, he received royalties from his work with Pink Floyd" Gilmour said, "I made sure the money got to him." David is just a good person. Roger on the other hand is a narcissist .

Yeah, I was still sticking with Waters until his comments at the U.N. Still think he's a musical genius but his comments on Ukraine/Russia was a bit askew.
