I feel that in general, people crave forming connections, whether it's through watching your favorite UA-camr or chatting with people you've never met in discord. We all just want to find others to relate to, and it's refreshing to find so many outlets for that in our current setting.
I think this is my favourite sketchbook dive. I will watch it over and over again. Definitely buying the Art & Fear book, too! I relate to you a lot so I'm so glad you are making videos that can accompany me sketching. Sending love!
Perfectionism is why I decided making the things that I do that aren't perfect visible ... putting up my work for anybody to stumble across is a really good therapy for getting me out of my own way. Good chat Ahmed!
I'm really enjoying these videos, I find them to be great for drawing along with, and full of good advice. Also, congrats on beating Gascoigne!! I knew you could do it. BSB was really tough for me too, but trust me, you don't need the cocktails or even any buffs to beat her. My main advice for the fight would be to stay very aggressive (notice a pattern here? lol) and stay on her right (the left of her from your pov). Try to sidestep attacks when you can rather than fully dodging, so that you can charge up an r2 on her butt and get a visceral attack. There are a lot of chances to do this in the fight if you position yourself well. Good luck :D
Gosh, hearing this uncut video of you drawing and talking with pauses without trying soo hard to be funny or something is so great, especially with the noises outside. Im trying to stay awake to change my schedule but this isnt helping xD
I love these kind of videos, it’s so relaxing to listen to ur voice, while drawing and sometimes sneak peaking and getting inspired by what you drew during that time
hello Ahmed, I am from Brazil and I have been following your videos and absorbed a lot with them. Thank you for continuing to bring a content of debates of fundamental ideas that few out there speak
im working on a drawing for my class and this is exactly what I needed to hear, I struggle with perfectionism badly and you are 100% right about it cuaseing the loss of motivation, I wasn't sure why I kept loosing it but this really brings it to light, so thank you, and thank you for the tips to help me fix it :)
Woke up in the middle of the night, watched this, and at the end of it I wasn’t sure whether or not if was for the art or the conversation ! I enjoyed both as it happens.
I remember the exact moment I went outside the other day in shorts only to see that it was snowing lmao. Ohio never fails to amaze me. Great video today man!
Oh right that's an Interesting story, I also saw this video about how famous musicians? Like beethoven, Mozart we more prone to be successful because because of the large amount of work they produced, they gain more experience and has higher chances of producing a masterpiece.
This video could not have come at a better time for me - I'm overrun with class assignments, I have little to no inspiration and nothing I draw is working. However I am comparing myself to people who have been professional artists for 10+ years and I keep forgetting that I am only just beginning my journey. My teachers aren't expecting perfect homework, so I don't know why I am wasting so much time restarting when all I can ever do is my best.
In 2012 we went on a family trip and we had these sunglasses that had a small camera built in the frame. They could film like 2h? of footage maybe? Don't remember. And don't remember what the quality was as I only viewed the footage one time after the trip and never again, and the camera sunglasses were lost after that :O But that was 9 years ago so there should be something even better out there for sale (I'd be surprised if not)
Listening on a 5.1 audio system I thought the birds were actually behind me outside lol. Great video, thank you for the insight! I certainly needed that.
Surely I'm not the only one, but I struggle with the word "hobby". I don't want to be a working artist, but still be proficient in my "hobby", so I study/practice which isn't always "fun" like a hobby is supposed to be (assuming that all hobbyists just want to have fun and enjoy themselves without much challenge). It's just something that I really enjoy doing, so naturally I want to be good at it. At the same time, I have trouble accepting art as just something I do for fun, EVEN THOUGH that's exactly the reason I draw. It feels like a paradox I can't get out of and it's really confusing me on this journey. My biggest goal right now is staying consistent without hating myself/making myself suffer. I want to draw because I love it and to improve, even if the two seem mutually exclusive sometimes. The way I think about it now as opposed to few years ago is staying patient, taking a breath instead of imagining this "finish line/end goal" that doesn't exist. It also lets me take off that self-inflicted pressure to post everything I draw, and just draw. To put it in some context, I never cared about "sucking at my dayjob" because it's not something I enjoyed. I don't believe I was ever "terrible", but I definitely didn't care and that showed some days more than others. Those jobs were not "fulfilling", just monkey work - and please don't take this the wrong way, I respect all of us "average" human beings that puts up with those shitty jobs so we can do something we love one day. I guess overall that still makes me selfish and irresponsible at best, but I'm not perfect and just want to be happy in life.
recently I've left somewhat of a negative comment under ur video, but I have to say these low key vids with slower pace and it being just us two drawing along are my personal favorite content that you make so thanks for those, stay poggers
Anyone else half way through that book for the third time? Very noice video. Edit: Jesus, THOSE birds want to burn people. Dead CUTE anger singing in the background. Brutal.
Dude...man...I like, totally get the humanizing people and not seeing them as transcending divinities part. However, I still struggle with seeing Steven Zapata as anything other than the reincarnation of the primordial Mind, since that's what he really is. Any advice on that?
Lol same thing happened to me with Djura. But I wasn't trying to kill him, just trying to gauge how difficult he was. I had him at low health and I was just dodging n messin around. Then he went and fell of the edge :(((
Loved the subject in the video. Your visions of the industry and art itself had been very enlightening. I am curious to see what would you say in depth about this NFT stuff. I've seen people going all crazy to artists, ready to point finger and judge and, with all honesty, we are nobody to persecute and crucify other people's actions. Once again, thanks Ahmed!
i idolize people's work, it makes me strive to be better but i dont idolize them. a lot of people are learning not to idolize popular creators only because theyre catching allegations and they realize not only can they be flawed, they can be horribly immoral people
37:41 i am as a crypto person and art person beginning to get really annoyed when every art video is starting to be about nfts. again i will say it again beeple is an incredible person. i love beeple. if any artist makes a video about nft and wants to say anything about art, i want to hear beeple mentioned at least. he is one of my favs out there, and yes I guess thats dehumanizing him am i right? still havent finished the video, but i wont respond after this anyway
I’m quite confused - I haven’t shared any opinions on the actual thing, just the people and how bloody things seem to be getting. I also think beeple is cool, not sure what you’re implying
@@AhmedAldoori I am not implying anything about this video, just about nft topic in general. I think its important to talk about beeple if the topic is about nfts. His artwork is what caused the outrage, everyone references it. But no one realizes he is the man behind daily digital art. Without that context, the nft will continue to be about the outrage over the 69 million dollar price tag. "Fail faster" has been the best advice anyone has ever given me.
Awesome advice, now Im older And finaly understod

This video saved me. Thank you, Ahmed. Thank you.

I like these videos where you just talk about stuff

Your golden egg analogy really helped me, man. That was exactly what I was needing to realize. Thank you! And I love the character 😍
Youre spoiling us with these sketchbook dives man.

I come back to sit and draw for this hour, it helps to hear what I know said out loud by another.
It seems that every time I watch one of your vídeos there is a phrase or a sentence that I need to hear

Thanks for the video Med, I drew through the whole thing. I especially liked hearing about your joyful venturing in Yharnam.

I really like the vibes of this kind of videos :)
Art & Fear is a great book and should be mandatory reading for all artists.
Love it. Please post more Pencil drawing vídeos :) in this playlist :)

Hey Med, have you ever tried reading a novel and doing a sketch (specifically a sketch and not a finnished drawing/painting) for each chapter?
This is so mind blowing! Ur skill is same as kim jung gi! 😊
