What's your accent?
French Canadian
Do you read French books?
I started this channel to read more in English but I will read the French Classics in French!
Where are your shelves from?
IKEA - Billy
Lol @ the swatches on your hand. 😂 That is me EVERY DAY.
That's what happens when I film a few videos for both channels in one day 😂
I love watching your Wrap ups and TBRs because the books you read aren't all just new releases and what's super popular on BookTube. Thanks for giving notice to the books that don't get as much hype! It helps to give a more diverse assortment to us viewers :)
I'm glad you're enjoying it! I always feel like my book taste is all over the place and a mix of everything haha :)
I was in a slump allll of September and I'm starting to get in the mood again so I'm excited!!
Amazing summaries, you must be a very quick reader getting through all of these books! Thanks for sharing your video, all the best for yours and your channels growth 😊
Thanks god you uploaded, I was missing your wrap ups and honest comments on books, ❤
What amazing progress! I love how your opinions and reviews on books :)
If you have a Kindle, you can check out the next two books after Wool on the Kindle Owners' Lending Library. That's how I read Wool and just traded it in for Shift - you can keep them as long as you want but only one at a time.
Hugh Howey's Silo series is so good. The other books really give you the reasons why they are were they are and what happened to the everyone else. LOVED it and never see anyone on BookTube talk about it.
Love both of your channels! If you want to keep a library book on your e-Reader until you finish it turn your WIFI off of your e-Reader. They can’t “take it back” until your WIFI is enabled again.
I've been using my phone so I sadly can't haha
So happy you're back Emily! Wow Dead Like Me! That was one of my favorite shows as a teenager, thank you for reminding me about it :) Gonna have to watch it again!
Again, loved The Pines Trilogy. It will get you out of a reading slump for sure.
Missed your videos, I'm happy you're back!
I was in such a reading slump in September, but I can't wait to start fresh in October with a bunch of spooky fall reads! =)
I know in French you don't pronounce the H, but poor Hugh Howey. He was reduced to Ug Owie, lol.
Sounds better :P
for what it's worth Hugh sounds like hue, rhymes with you ;)
Ug 😂
I'm glad your reading slump is over because your wrap ups are some of my favorite videos to watch
I can't wait to finally be able to finish a couple good books :D
Yay for being done with reading slumps! I too am finally getting rolling again! I just finished wool and also enjoyed it will be reading the others in the series! The fireman is awesome I really enjoyed that one its so well written and fascinating. I have 5 library books currently and have 4 more to pick up so I rarely buy books so I am so thankful my library rocks! Currently reading the silence of lambs and into the water by paula hawkins. I can't wait to read the second book in the ACOTAR series so I can weight in and see if i agree with you.
The Long Walk by Stephen King seems extremely similar with Death March that actually happened in the Philippines when the Japanese colonized the country.
I definitely understand the issues you had with ACOTAR. It seems like it's too hyped and doesn't follow through enough and the last book was definitely a flurry and a mess of tying up some loose ends, but not all of them (so that there's stuff to go off of for the remaining books), and I definitely thought it could have been better. I love your makeup btw!!!
Glad you're out of your slump. I'm currently still working on mine. The Long Walk sounds interesting. I may check it out if I can get my hands on it.
I'm out of my reading slump as well and it feels so good, but to be honest, I always read less during summer. Sounds like a good reading month for you, def going to check some of these books out.
I used to read the most during the summer (school problem!) but maybe I don't anymore... we'll see next summer haha
I just started Wool on audiobook for my commutes after you enjoyed it last year, so it's so funny that you followed up today. I'm only about 1.5 hours into the 17 hour experience and I'm liking it so far, but very curious to see where they take it. Also, the long walk, while not King's most popular book, was nuts!
So many cool books! I think I feel same about ACOTAR, I will wait to know about who the next three books gonna be about and then make official decision to read or not to read but right now I am not really interested. Also the Long Walk sounds cool, already requested it in my library!
You should finish the shinning and read the 2nd book (Dr.sleep) after. It's better actually. I loved it.
wow you read so much.. i read one book in september and started another and was so proud. i love your videos ... ***
Ouhh I've been wanting to read Wool for so long! Maybe I'll finally pick it up since it's been collecting dust on my shelf haha.
I really liked the first little story!
I feel like we have different tastes in books because a lot of the books I LOVE you haven't enjoyed. Hahaha But I still love watching your book and beauty videos! You are one of the reasons I decided to incorporate more book videos on my channel. 😀 (Although I just combine both beauty and books in one channel.)
I liked The City of Ember by Jeanne DePrau. Kind of dystopian as well like Wool
So glad you got over your reading slump. I got they both die at the end. Looking forward to reading it. How do you feel about Cassandra Clare books? I've started the infernal devices series. It's my first fantasy series aside from Harry Potter.
such great video quality!
I felt exactly the same about the ACOTAR series! Hated the first one, loved the second one and felt so indifferent to the last 😒 But great wrap up Emily!
Same! So much potential after the second book, and then it went downhill fast... It's sad. It felt so sloppy and rushed. Like Emily says, I'm considering giving away the first and third book, and just keep the second for a pleasurable re-read if I go into a slump :P
It's official the second book is now a standalone :P
If you hate the first book, why do you continue reading? I think it is a waste of time and money if I continue series I don't like
+Marit de Vries I didn't really plan to read the second book, but then it came out and everyone said it was A LOT better than the first one, so then I gave it a chance. Also, it's said to be a Hades and Persephone re-telling (sort of), which drew me even more ^_^
Have you read the Book thief? I recently read it and I LOVEDD IT!!!Such a sad and heartwarming story.
Great wrap up!
I'm in a reading slump since the beginning of the year but you inspire me to read more because we have the same tastes!! btw great video, hope we'll see you more on youtube in october :-)
I feel you on the reading slump! I hope I won't be as busy since I've been missing it!
I've been hearing some things about The Long Walk and since Stephen King is one of those hit or miss authors for me I was a little hesitant but since you mentioned it's more of a dystopian maybe I'll pick it up because I don't have any expectations before going into it
Have you read Roses and Rot by Kat Howard? Hands down my favorite book I've read in ages.
Scythe was pretty dull because of the pacing, I think I gave it 2 stars. With Neal Shusterman and Scott Westerfeld I like the idea of their plots but they both fail hard in execution. ACOWAR was okay but had a lot of issues... still going to read the other novels though!
The Long Walk was so so good! Highly recommend to anyone interested!
Yes!! I'm definitely planning on recommending it a lot!
Luckily I feel the opposite about the ACOTAR series. Didn't really like the first one, loved the second one and loved the third. So I think it'll be different for everyone tbh and if they love the characters I think they'll like the third book, cos the inner circle made ACOWAR amazing for me
*random question* What camera do you use to film? Your videos are always so fabulous! 😮
Wow how do you manage to find that much time to read this amount of books I can only read about 2-3 books a month
I still have yet to read ACOTAR
You need to read Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews!
I finished TBDATE on Sunday and I LOVED it even when the ending broke my heart:(
Have you gotten time to read the “Queen of heart”? 👸♥️
I am struggling with IT. started it in September and haven't completed it yet :(
I just finished Wool and I feel the same way. I was really into the book for like 90% of the book but then at the end it seem to really fall flat and resolve itself way too quickly and way too easily. I'm actually starting shift right now so we'll see how I feel about it. I'm not committed to finishing the series at this point. I also just read the library at mount char and I really liked it that was very impressively wrapped up.
So happy you liked it! It's such an underrated book!
Let me know how Shift goes :)
Tore through Shift in 4 days. :-) I actually liked it more than I liked Wool and I liked Wool quite a bit. I'm starting Dust now.
I've only just read It and want to get more into SK because It wasn't my favourite but definitely had potential... which other books by him would you recommend?
The one I finished this month! The Long Walk
If you're using the Overdrive app for your ebook, you need to just change the settings to loan things for longer than seven days
Natalya Kahmann I noticed this right away, luckily, and changed mine to 21 days. The only problem is now I am holding onto books longer so my library is full and any other books I have waiting that become available only have 3 days to either keep one from my library or get rid of the book that came available.
Ashley Krystin yeah. I have that problem too. Wanting to read every book in the world is a hard life.
I already have the loans as long as I can sadly!
BookswithEmilyFox then that really stinks. :( I'm sorry
i love your accent so much
Thank you :)
Hey Emily ! I jus found out by your other channel that you speak French ?
I skipped the second book of Wool and went straight into the third (guilty reader).
Hey, I was wondering, do you sometimes read books by french authors ?
Love your videos ^^
Alys Demester she answers that question in the description box of all of her videos :)
Oh man I Adore The Long Walk, the first time I read it tho I loathed it but the second time I read it I realised it was a metaphor my mind Exploded
It's also the only Stephen King book I've read because I don't think anything else can live up to it
I wasn't sure I liked the ending but it's growing on me!
I loove the ending because then it's kinda like there really are no winners in the game which is #deep
I found The Shining kind of disappointing. It was my first Stephen King novel and I was expecting a horror book that would keep me up later at night, but the book was more psychological thriller than horror and was no where near as terrifying as I thought. I feel like every horror book I encounter I come across that problem- the genre is more thriller than horror and just isn't very scary. Maybe I'll give Mr King another chance with The Long Walk though :)
Try it! Hopefully you'll end up liking it :)
Girl help I'm in the biggest reading slump ever how do I crush it send help
Stephen King is my favourite author and The Long Walk is one of my favourite works by him.
It was so good!
Stephen King.
I have just finished writing a book called A Mothers Love would love to send you a copy. Private message me with your address. Thanks roseingeorgia
Hugh is pronounced like "Hyu" Emilie :)
